We eat sushi often and this is our favorite place. We mostly do take out though dining it is a great atmosphere as well. Extremely fresh fish(melt in your mouth salmon) and very inventive rolls. Their Hand Grenade is the bomb! Wonderful service and great food.

Great, authentic sushi. Tried the Spanish mackerel at suggestion of owner, which was as described, like butter. Rainbow roll had a good selection of fish up top, stuffed with crab filling. Tuna, salmon, eel were very fresh and what you would expect at a decent place. Only drawback was we went in at 9:15 on a Saturday night. When they say they close at 10, they are literal. Don’t try to order anything else and u will get your check delivered promptly at ten, with the hope u leave immediately. Nice staff except for this closing situation.

Some of the best sushi in the suburbs if not the whole Chicago area. Great atmosphere too. The new tuna dumpling is to die for; I hope they keep it on the menu. Love love sushi nest! I introduced my family to the place, they are very discerning, and they were blown away. We will be back.

Have eaten here well over a dozen times and I have never been disappointed. I eat here at least twice a month. The staff is great, courteous and friendly. The sushi chefs know their business and how to please. The presentations are always perfect and the sushi is always fresh. Must try the Uni Shooter its out of this world. Look forward to going here every time.

We were downtown Elmhurst trying to find some sushi and we were between Sushi Nest and Sakana, and we picked wrong. This restaurant was overpriced for mediocre sushi at best. We ordered an appatizer, soup, and a sushi platter. The staff quickly brought all of our food out at once. We hadn’t even began or warm appetizer when our dinner plate got out. It was not only rude, we felt rushed and unwelcome. I would never go back to the Sushi Nest.

Love Sushi Nest. Great food, wine, & service. My husband lived in Japan for a year, and passes his high standards. Our new favorite– hand grenade. Raw sushi that is tempura fried so quickly you can’t tell its fried, but it results in a slightly warmed taste and texture explosion. If you have kids and want to make it a fun cultural event, call ahead to get the very cool window seat where you leave your shoes outside and sit on the floor on pillows. Ours did great at ages 9 and 4. It’s right next to the York theater– great spot for dinner and a movie night.

This place was so good! The sushi was fresh and the prices where reasonable, we went for the lunch specials, and it was such a good deal! The place was a little dark but over all the service was quick and everyone was super friendly, defiantly would go back again.

I love this place! Sushi nest is one of the best sushi places around the area. There is a variety of sushi rolls, appetizers, soups, noodles, drinks and desserts. My boyfriend and I stopped at the sushi nest for the second time ever and we were just as satisfied as the first time we stopped in! It wasn’t packed, until we sat down and the service is always great. You get complimentary cucumber water, edamame and miso soup with your order. This time we weren’t too full from the sushi so we decided to order dessert. We spilt an order of the green tea ice cream, Delicious! I regret not ordering it the very first time I was at sushi nest. The rolls we ordered were the spider roll, caterpillar roll and Hawaii roll. All three were great! It was perfect amount to spilt between the two of us. I recommend sushi nest to those who love trying new sushi places. After you try the sushi nest you will never forget it!

Dark and kind of romantic inside, but a bit expensive, even by sushi standards. It’s fresh and not overly complicated, tasty, and probably a good spot for a date.

I really like this place. It is where I cut my ‘sushi teeth’ so it is a favorite. I know what I like here and I know what I order. The staff is very friendly and does seem to appreciate repeat business.

My go to Sushi place. I bring family from out of town here when they ask for Sushi. Space is clean and inviting. People are very courteous and on point. A must eat is the Hawaii, Caterpillar, dragon and their seasonal. I also love the basic crunchy roll. mmmm, I’m feeling sushi for lunch.

The visit was my first sushi restaurant experience and was wonderful. Our server took extra time to describe menu items and offer suggestions. We selected four items from the menu and the were all wonderful. Definitely will dine there again!

A great little sushi spot in the heart of downtown Elmhurst. Price point is on the higher end, but most things in the immediate vicinity are, too. Edamame is complimentary, as is the house green tea(some places charge, Sushi Nest doesn’t). Other reviewers have made mention of a warm damp towel towards the beginning of a meal and freshly-peeled orange at the end, although I didn’t receive either at lunchtime on a Friday. The three sushi masters were working diligently to prepare a variety of nigiri and sashimi rolls, which came out quicker than I expected. The quality is what I’d hope for in a sushi lunch, and for $ 13, it was a decent value. Servers were attentive and friendly. The ambiance is perfect for the cuisine – soothing music, dim lighting and a clean, polished interior. What surprised me most was the craftsmanship of their tableware; everything from the sturdy soy sauce dispenser to the durable cup my tea came in assured me that they didn’t get these on the cheap. Usually there’s a direct correlation between the quality of a dish and its weight, and these were pretty darn heavy. I’ll be giving Sushi Nest my lunch business again.

I’ve now been to Sushi Nest twice. The first time I went was much better than this last visit. In other reviews I read about the warm towel when you are seated? That was not offered to us. There were only two tables of customers at the time, so maybe it just wasn’t busy enough to go through the trouble. We were given a complimentary order of edamame though, which was a nice touch. Between 3 of us we ordered 2 California rolls, 1 spicy tuna roll, 1 Philadelphia roll, and 1 crunchy roll(tempura battered with crispy shrimp). I also ordered miso soup. I was looking forward to the soup, but it was not my favorite bowl of miso soup ever. The greens in the soup were a little too chewy, like it had been microwaved. Our sushi was pretty good, but again, not the greatest. The seaweed seemed so much chewier than normal. I actually ended up ‘deconstructing’ the rolls with my chopsticks and eating everything but the seaweed. It was a little off-putting. My husband and father in law seemed find with theirs though. The waitress was very pleasant. She was sweet, stayed on top of refilling our waters, and checked on us often. We might go back to this place since of the two experiences there it has been acceptable. It’s also a convenient location, right downtown Elmhurst.

This may be the best sushi in Elmhurst, but in terms of sushi it was just okay. The restaurant is comfortable and clean. The service was good. The free edamame was a nice touch. We ordered the California roll, an unagi roll, and the torch(I think that was the name). All of the rolls seemed fresh, but flavorless. Even the torch, which came with a flaming dipping sauce and included jalapeños, was pretty bland. I guess I’m used to eating sushi at lunch, so it seemed a little expensive to me. It was $ 40 for 22 pieces of sushi, no drinks — just water — including a tip. There are at least two other places offering sushi in town(Wok-in-Fire and Sakana). Perhaps I’ll update my review after visiting these restaurants. As of this writing there are ninety-six restaurants in Elmhurst. I plan on eating at, and reviewing, every one. Follow me on Unilocal

Tho certain locals would disagree with me, my opinion of the sushi at Sushi Nest is that it is just«okay.» I know people love it, and for years it was the only game in town. But I personally think that the sushi at a few places just outside of Elmhurst borders(gah, how could I suggest anyone travel OUTSIDEELMHURST!!!) is fresher, less dry and more flavorful than what is found at the Nest. But sadly, the prices at Sushi Nest, save for the specials, are kind of worthy of a better product. Would I recommend you eat here? No. Not really. But I wouldn’t dissuade you from doing so, because again, my opinion is that it’s all right. Just not the best.

Very clean, great place to go for quiet conversation. I had The dragon roll which is a spicy tuna maki. I also had fresh salmon Sashimi. Both were delicious… I will be back for more of this and I recommend it for Sushi lovers!

Warm towel to clean your hands as soon as we say down. Edamame was brought as a starter for free. I ordered rolls and watched them be made. Good service with nice perks like cucumber slices in the water. Affordable.

This restaurant is in downtown Elmhurst right on York, near the creperie. There is free street parking and a free lot across the street. The inside is nicely decorated and dimmed for dinner dining. One of the waitresses sat us right away and took our drink order. We had a dinner menu, drinks/desserts menu, and specialty roll menu. There were a few specialty rolls that caught my eyes. The waitress gave us a complimentary bowl of edamame, which were nice and salty. DINNER TOROROLL — $ 11 — The toro were mushy and this roll was very plain. I think I would prefer a more flavorful roll or the nigiri option. NESTSUSHI — $ 27 — 2 Salmon nigiri, 2 Tuna nigiri, 2 Yellow Tail nigiri, 2 Eel nigiri, and a spider roll. The nigiri pieces were good and the spider roll had great sauce. This dinner came with a cup of miso soup which had bits of green onion and tofu, not too salty. The value for this dish is pretty good. SPANISHMAKERAL — $ 7 — This was a special on the menu and it was good, but it didn’t peek my interest. ASAHI(Large) — $ 7 Overall, good service and good food.
