«You’re not going to an old people’s barbershop, are you?» the wife asked– and it wasn’t a rhetorical question.
«Nope,» I said, «go ahead and look at their website.» She did, and no more questions were asked.
Like many new JMC customers, I am a recent transplant from the city who found the shop on Unilocal.I’ll definitely be back. The cool, music-​centric décor reminds me of my former go-​to, Irving Park Barbershop. The advantage here is online scheduling of appointments. Look, it’s a very popular and busy place and you never really need a haircut all of a sudden, so plan ahead and schedule a cut on the day and time of your choosing. There’s no need to show up and wait with a group of other dudes led on by the unrealistic estimated wait time of 10 – 20 minutes. It’s not 2015 anymore!
Breanne was really nice and gave me a great haircut. To my wife’s delight, there wasn’t a single old person in sight… though I suppose I’m getting there.

Jay has been the barber for my son and me for over two years. He knows his stuff and runs a great shop. Extremely satisfied!

My son and I needed haircuts. Paid a visit to Shelly at JMC and got awesome cuts and fine hospitality too. We were treated like family and will be back!

A great group of barbers with magnificent talent and the kind of gruff personalities that make a true barbershop in this world of high maintenance metro-​sexuals. The personality of this cuttery makes it very easy to be loyal to their atmosphere… to the point I am having my two daughters (8&2) come in for a trim because I believe in their community/​loyal ideals. Go out of your way to give this place a whirl because they just «get it»

Where do I start? Found this place after being very unhappy with a lot the barbers and salons around this area. A quick google search led me to find this place rated one of the best barbershops in the western suburbs by Chicago Magazine. They were right.
I was able to get a haircut appointment for the next day after making my appointment online.
Arrived and quickly felt right at home. A two chair barbershop with youtube on two walls with the guys choosing random videos off the internet to watch. By no means did this mean my haircut was sub-​par or without effort. Steve listened to my needs and what I wanted out of a cut and was able to give me exactly what I was looking for. Something not a lot of other professionals in the area can do. He also was a laugh out loud riot with humor and offered very insightful «life advice».
A barbershop should be a place to go and get a cut, but more importantly kick back and chat with your newly found neighbors. This place turned out to be everything that description entails and more.
After about a year of trying different places, I think I found the place where my ears will be lowered from now on.
Definitely check this place out as you won’t be disappointed in the way you look, but more importantly, the experience you get.

Great place to chill, get your hair cut and catch up on whats going on in the neighborhood.
I think the decorations on the wall are bad ass, and they were able to squeeze me in without an appointment (trust me you should have one, the place is a constant revolving door) and I look like one handsome bastard with a fresh lid.

Great barber in a great atmosphere! I highly recommend Steve. Great haircut every time and has never cancelled an appointment.
