Renovations look great, service was friendly and efficient, food was tasty. Enjoyed the beer selection. A great spot with a lot of charm and character!

We recently had a Saturday family birthday party and arrived there in the early afternoon. The parking lot was muddy, something I’m sure the new owners want to fix once summer rolls around, but that was the only aspect we found that needed improvement. The restaurant is warm and cozy, nicely lit with a lot of natural woodtones, and we all enjoyed our various meals, which were basically variations of burgers, since I guess we’re a burger family, however there were many other items available. I like breakfast any time of day, and they comply with«Nana’s Breakfast», which is a generous portion of scrambled, seasoned eggs with egg noodles and sausage, warm and filling. This was the first time I’d been there since the new ownership, and I ordered their soup of the day, which was described as beef soup, but was actually one of the best beef stews I’d ever had. In a nutshell, I was stuffed, and we all had a good time and agreed this a restaurant worthy of repeat visits.

Just dropped in for lunch with friends from out of town… the restaurant is clean and very well decorated… very cozy and friendly… we ordered 2 salads that were nothing but yummy(highly recommend the apple vinagrette)…we then shared the 3 different Flatbread pizzas…6 women couldn’t decide which one was better than the last! The server was extremely attentive to our needs without being a stalker. All in all, it was the best way to spend time with good friends, nice atmosphere, and GREAT food! So happy to find another go-to place in WNY! Congrats to the new owners! Can’t wait to try more things from the menu!

The North Star is a gem, and I’m glad I got to go during a recent trip to the Buffalo area! It has a great look with a beautiful bar, and it’s fantastic that the owners were able to restore the building. But let’s talk food and drink :) As a craft beer fan, I was pleased to see a variety of WNY beers on tap, and was able to try 2 different beers I’ve never had before. I ordered the Polska Best, which features Golumbki, Pierogi, Kapusta, Smoked Sausage, and it was fantastic! I’m new to Polish food, so I enjoyed being able to try a little of everything. I think the Polska Best might be the ultimate plate of Polish comfort food, and I highly recommend it. The next time I’m in the Buffalo area, I’ll be sure to stop into The North Star!

Never been more sad about the loss of $ 98.00 in my life. Very strange grandmas house atmosphere except that the bar seems OK. There are about ten menu items so we basically ordered half the menu. We were seated and ordered drinks. Then were brought bread and butter which had literally zero flavor. How is that even possible. We got the Big Dipper appetizer which was MORE bread with olive oil and chips and cream cheese.(Cream cheese that was supposed to be Spinach Artichoke dip). Then our salads came. Wow. The wedge is a heaping plate of iceberg lettuce. The garden salad is a heaping plate of spinach. Very dry. Poor flavor combinations. We dreaded the moment dinner would come and when it came, the steak tasted like chemicals. I got the Famous Pierogis which is a pierogi with a dollop of sour cream next to it. They should have a famous sauce to go with their famous Pierogis not a dry pierogi with sour cream. I actually left in a sad mood. Overall the food is flavorless, boring, and plated with no creativity or concern for how it looks. Maybe one of the worst dining out experiences ever. Which really stinks, because of how sweet the owners seemed.
