I gave it another shot after a few years. This time, the crust was crispier and the sauce had a bit more sweetness. Probably twice the amount of cheese necessary. This place could be a cute little local attraction if they embraced the«shack» name. Nail some weathered reclaimed paneling on the walls, dress up the parking lot with the same theme, revamp the menu, dress the staff in plaid and jeans. They have the clam shack in the summer but it’s shoved into a corner of the parking lot instead of being fenced off into a beer garden/picnic area(42 North in EA has a nice one). People in the Buffalo area are always looking for that unusual fun«joint» — while restaurant owners continue to open the same old pizza-wing-weck place with zero consideration for style.

If I could put no stars I would. I really don’t like giving bad reviews but i wish i had known how awful the quality of food was before i decided to dine here. Not only were the tacos over priced for the size but the taco meat was terrible! Dried out and old. Same with the beef on weck. All 3 of us were very dissatisfied with our dining experience. In short, food was inedible, over priced for portion size and the establishment was scummy. None of us that went tonight will ever eat there again.

Good value and good service but I think they would be better served to brighten the place up some and pare down the menu. Their menu is the biggest I’ve ever seen anywhere, which is a problem if you are trying to manage the place and make money. How they lasted all these years with such a huge menu is anyone’s guess. Maybe they have a large enough regular customer base so they don’t care what the snobs think. Just a thought.

Follow-up review. Still 3 stars for very good pizza, and it’s cheap. Just make sure that the old man isn’t doing the cooking. The bar atmosphere is, well, unique. I’ve ordered beer at the bar a few times and I would have thought that the beer prices would be a little lower for this kind of local watering hole, so I would not recommend spending a night at the rather rustic bar. But I am a fan of the pizza most of the time, so I won’t give it a negative rating.
