My Dad is coop’in happy. Dinner tonight was driven by the coupon he got as a member of Uno’s insider club. We ate in the bar so we could enjoy the happy hour specials, it was also trivia night. I started with a $ 3 cosmo… it was more sweet than full of buzz. We shared a pile of muchos nacho’s with chili. I was okay, but it just didn’t look as appealing as other nacho appetizers I’ve had. It wasn’t as piled high with toppings and it lacked that«I can’t stop eating you» quality… I grazed slower than normal. After my sweeter than sweet, hardly any buzz martini was gone, I opted for a beer. Good choice Gina, Blue Moon never disappoints. For my entrée I went with the Chicken Milanese salad; breaded and grilled chicken, mixed greens, tomatoes, red onion, kalamata olives, Parmesan and balsamic vinaigrette. The chicken breast was whole and at the bottom of the salad. So the breading was not crisp because the dressing made it soggy, fail. The flavor was not there either, double fail. I snagged an avocado egg roll off my bro’s Chi-Town tasting plate. It was very different. There was a whole lot of avocado stuffed in those rolls, I could hardly eat half of one. Gee Gina, sounds like you had a crappy dinner… why the three stars? Because my Dad wouldn’t shut up about how much he loved it and wanted me to give it 5 stars… so I met in the middle-ish. Plus, $ 3 – 5 happy hour drinks is worth a star.

My colleague chose Uno for their gluten-free menu for a business lunch today, and it was a-ok! Holy buttery pizza crust. Not that I’m complaining, but I don’t think I could have their deep-dish pizza more than once a year, it was so rich. Service was kind of strange, our server wrote his name on a napkin while he was introducing himself, and squatted next to the table while talking to us. I guess that works for some people, but seemed odd to me.
