Great grocery store in the heart of the village! Their donuts are awesome too!

Meat counter is hit or miss depending on who is serving customers. Deli has same hit or miss customer service. I find that the three Sendiks that I frequent all have surely meat counter associates. I understand that they have a lot to do behind the scenes. Sanitation is their top concern, but a smile would be a good place to start when greeting someone over the counter. Without those pesky customers, there would not be a store to work at. Having worked retail, it is surprising that attitude still survives in an industry where service is king and beef prices continue to increase. Some store cut beef is NOTUSDA graded. Google«ungraded beef» to get an idea of what the retail grades are. All those old milking cows go somewhere. Ask about the USDA grade when you are buying beef at the counter. I do not want to pay premium prices for mediocre beef.

Very clean and organized store. Effecient, fast friendly service. Great selection of quality and nutritional foods. Small enough where as you don’t have to wander around for hours looking for something. But big enough to carry a lot of items for healthy eating. Just your average small neighborhood store that gives you quality food.

As usual a great selection of items both pre made and made to order. What I like most is that the store is so clean. I also have to admit I love the carpet. It really makes the store seem much quieter and more upscale.

Probably the best market at least in the Brookfield-Elm Grove area. Sendik’s is considered a more premium grocery store, so expect to pay a premium over the Pick n Saves and Piggly Wiggly. The area where Sendik’s stand out is the meat department. Butcher shops in grocery stores are such a rarity these days. This location has a full on butcher shop staffed with several people who know their products. You can find the usual suspects with respect to cuts. If you want a waygu or a prime grade, they can order it for you. Seafood wise, this is one of the few places in the western burbs where you can get live lobsters. Definitely keep track of what’s on sale for the week because deals can be pretty good. There’s one or two dudes who are a little odd, but overall the butchers are pretty nice. Aside from the meat, they do a good job with their cheese, deli and bakery selections. The produce is usually pretty good; however, I’ve purchased berries over the past month that ended up being a bit rancid. The staff is super friendly. Many are high school kids. These days, you usually get a big drop off in service with kids, but management does a fantastic job selecting and training them. If you happen to go during the summer or fall, make sure to stop at the grill for a cooked-to-order brat, burger or whatever your stomach desires. You can get anything they offer at the store(including steak and chicken)…just have to ask the guys working the grill. The grill’s open during lunch hours.

We live very close by making this a very convenient place to food shop. They have an extensive hot food bar, fresh salad and fruit bar. Lots of bakery goods. This store is hit or miss in so many ways. On service or product selections. However, despite a decent range of a selection that they have, this store is so typically out of stock on many things. And, especially when we need them. The Sendiks in New Berlin, WI. is so much better with a much larger selection. I’d say that the management at this Elm Grove location is so-so. They sure like to sell you the alcohol though($$)! As someone is ‘right on it’ in this dept. The attitude here is kind of, «we don’t truly care». I think the newly opened, very close by, Trader Joe’s is much better as is their staff.

When no other grocery store in the city of Milwaukee has beets — who has them in stock? Sendik’s of course. They always have the specialty food stuff I’m looking for. Their produce is super high quality and their cheese selection cannot be passed up. I also happened to browse this Sendiks flower department and picked up some lovely spring tulips and an orchid. A week later and they’re still goin’ strong! Not to mention the woman in the flower department was extremely helpful and gave me great instructions on how to take care of them.

During a visit with a friend in Elm Grove, had to do a bit of shopping on Sunday prior to cooking her a meal. Great selection of seafood, meats and veggies = all first quality, though a little pricey, but still affordable. Helpful staff and somewhat crowded for Sunday Morning. Easy access. Don’t shop here when you are hungry! Stick to a list or you will have a surprise at the checkout. Will be back for sure!

I like this store a lot… except for one thing… the surely butchers… they make it seem like it’s a BIGFAVOR to serve you. What a bunch of assholes. Thankfully, I have other options, like Grasch’s or Bunzell’s. Fuck all you assholes.
