Literally, the only place I would ever go for a veggie pizza. Mostly because theirs has ranch dressing for sauce.
Other than that, it’s an above average pizza with good sauce and a perfectly crisped crust.

Granted, the regular pizza was tasty but… the gluten free pizza made my husband terribly ill. He is fine now. People with wheat and gluten allergies beware! Obviously, they must placed the pizza on a wheat floured surface after it came out of the oven. Somehow it was cross contaminated with gluten. We have ordered gluten free pies from Dominos (national chain) and not become ill. If you are going to offer Gluten Free pizza on the menu please make sure it is.

I don’t really like to give out 5 stars unless I’m blown away, but Pizza Joe’s holds a special place in my heart. It’s one of the few things I miss about Ellwood. Every pizza is great. Best in town, and there’s not even a close second. The owners are great people too!

Coupons galore on their website! Make sure you check them out before you order. The coupons do not need printed to redeem them which is nice.
They make their own dough here which is a change from all the chain pizza joints. They always put a ton of cheese on their pizza and they always put a ton of other toppings on as well.
They only feature take out here no delivery.

Well, I must say this pizza joint is now on my favs list. The pizza was absolutely delicious! They have a homemade pan crust that is thick and chewy, the sauce was flavorful and robust, and the topping was authentic! My husband got meatball slices, equivalent to hamburger and I got pepperoni. We order buffalo wings that were very tasty. They are pre-​breaded though. The service was awesome and very clean, but tight bathrooms. I will definitely go back and experience them again.

Pizza Joe’s is definitely an underrated chain, but I just wish we could get a little more consistency out of them. It’s not so much that the pizza is bad sometimes, it’s just always different. The pizza we normally get is the sweet honey hot chicken pizza, which is appropriately named given the fact that it features chicken with a sweet honey sauce that has a simultaneous spicy kick to it. Their specialty steak pizza is also awesome. Pizza Joe’s dough is really what sets them apart from other pizza joints. Their sauce is good enough, but if their dough wasn’t so good this review could have easily only been a three star review.
If you need a Pizza Joe’s shirt, this is the only store around that actually has them. This doesn’t seem important, but I once went to the store in Monaca, then in New Brighton, then in Beaver Falls only to find that the only Pizza Joe’s that sells shirts is this one.

I moved away from Ellwood City and here are some stories of things I go through to get Pizza Joes anyway I can:
— People have smuggled it through the air port and brought it to me
— People send me pictures of it when I’m away
— Every time I’m home this is the first place I want to go to eat
— I heard there was one opened in KIssissime Fl, I called but the line was always busy… I assumed because it was SO flippin good… I drove over an hour to try to get this pizza to find out the location had closed down… i would have driven farther for a chance to eat this pizza.
It’s just plain GOOD.
I miss you Pizza Joe!!!
