I’ve tried many of their baked goods and were very satisfied until I ordered a cake for a special ocassion. The cake looked absolutely beautiful, but it tasted awful. It was as dry as the desert and no one could eat it. I was so disappointed, and embarrassed. I would have been better off with a cake from Big Y.

Cupcakes in this neck of the woods? Love it! Driving on 83 a.k.a West Rd on a daily basis, I had to finally stop in and give this place a stab. Excellent. Service was outstanding. I purchased two cupcakes to go– Salted Carmel and PB&G which is their peanut butter cup flavored one. The Salted Carmel is out of this world! Highly recommend this cupcake! Another patron was in the shop and was purchasing cupcakes for her daughter who was having a PMS crisis at home & frequently visits on a weekly basis for her sweet treats. She also mentioned the bread was outstanding. Access is easy, close to Vernon(Near Blue Seal) and there is plenty of parking. If you want to sit down and enjoy a sweet treat, also plenty of seating. I will update this review once I dig into the cakes and other treats. :)

I stopped in on Friday afternoon to buy some cupcakes for my book club meeting that night. For some reason they didn’t have any cupcakes at the time, but the woman behind the counter recommended the dessert mousses. I was skeptical at first but I bought six of them. They’re $ 3.75 each, but she gave me a break on the price because I bought so many, which was really nice of her. I didn’t ask for that! I bought an assortment of the flavors: chocolate-peanutbutter, strawberry, key lime and lemon. The girls in my book club absolutely raved about them. I had a small taste of each, since I technically am not supposed to have sweets, but couldn’t resist. The chocolate-peanutbutter is an instant ticket to heaven. Oh, my my my. It’s very rich and awesome. The strawberry is sweet and good. The key lime and lemon were cool and light, like sherbet but not cold. It’s really hard for me to say which was my favorite. I also saw two wedding cakes through the window in the back room. They were simple and elegant. This is the perfect way to treat yourself for: having a bad day, having a great day, passing a test, failing a test, cheering yourself up, and sustaining a good mood. ;) Just go! Eat some mousse!

They have an awesome assortment of baked goods here, which rotates daily. You can find everything from croissants, to danishes to cookies and more. The muffins are always good, buttery, and moist. The almond croissant is A-MAZING. If they have it, get it. I tried the sausage and cheese muffin once, and it was good except for an off, bitter flavor it seemed to have. The danishes are average. All in all, really nice place, especially in the sticks of Ellington. I would love to have the chance to try one of their cakes, I would be willing to bet they do a great job. I’ve been back, I’ll be back.
