Our internet was down and Dale jumped into his vehicle and arrived at our cabin without even needing an appointment. An hour later with these experts and we are up and running! Job well done! I add to these bad reviews. In fact, if I could give a zero star, I would. ETC gets an F– grade from me and my wife. When we lived in Jasper, we always felt they overcharged, indeed. We had very few«technical» issues there, but basic cable, for the time I had it, was rather lame. Their commercials and marketing are so badly done. We dropped cable long ago, and since we moved to Ellijay a year and a few months ago, it’s been nothing but trouble. My wife has a telecommuting option from work, and we need decent, stable internet access. Forget it. I truly had more stable service from a dial-up service back in the 1990s. Slower, a bit, but more stable than anything ETC offers. We’ve shown them speed test after speed test, bottoming out at absurd numbers like the other reviewer here. They keep coming out and replacing old wiring and gear at the control box(es), and then one time actually at our new home. We can’t even have much fun with basic internet anymore. Streaming even short video? Forget it. Fast downloads? No way. We have internet and basic phone(very limited long distance), and we’re paying almost $ 80 a month for this garbage. It took us the whole year and few months just to finally get a straight answer on how to override the security system code that the builder of the home couldn’t seem to give us to operate it. Customer service is hit or miss. Oh, they’re nice enough, sure. Put up with a ton of our complaints for sure. We’ve had to speak multiple times with the VP of the dang company just to get anywhere. He tried to explain why they’re charging so much for so little, which sounded like a bunch of BS. We think they’re simply ripping a lot of people off, they don’t want to update old equipment, and because they don’t feel they have to. After all, they won’t let ANYone else come in to compete. Surely they’d start losing a lot of business if they did. I can’t say enough about how bad ETC is. WAY behind the times here. Very unreliable service in Ellijay. We’re at Carter’s Lake, so country, sure… but not THAT far from Ellijay center. Surely not far enough out to have prehistoric internet and phone service. We pay for 15mb speed. We don’t even get 5. Rip. Off. If we didn’t need the internet for work, I’d just assume cancel everything from these people. Some nice people, yes. But wow, as a company? Horrible. Just awful. An option presents itself, they won’t get our money anymore.

Really poor service of late. Internet constantly drops. TV reception is poor. Contacted customer support and left several message for the manager but no call back.

ETC overcharges. We have Basic cable and high speed internet for over $ 87 a month with a one year contract. Half the channels and a lesser mb for the broadband… plus no contract with Comcast for about $ 15 more than Comcast charges in Marietta. Hopefully a new cable company will move in soon.
