If you are planning a trip to Main street in Ellicott City this place is a MUST. It’s a little tucked away in the parking lot behind Su Casa and La Palapa. The owners (Randy and Steve) have two locations with in a block from each other. One is in an old three story Victorian style house with a beautiful garden out front. They sell a wide variety of items including gardening equipment, flowers, herbs, kitchen gadgets, lots of different gourmet spreads, preserves, sauces/​chutneys and cooking oils. My favorite items would be the bath and body products they carry. They always have DELICIOUS lotions, soaps, oil diffusers and beautiful home décor. The other location is a little cottage with some of the items they sell in the house but mainly garden stuff and flowers. You can find GREAT gifts here for any occasion. They also have gift certificates. Like I said if you are planning a trip to Main Street this place is the best!

You might not even realize the Good Life exists when you are driving down Main Street Ellicott City. It is tucked back in the parking lot behind the old Post Office and Visitor Center.
The Good Life is comprised of 2 buildings — a quaint little cottage that sells flowers, herbs and pretty things to put in your garden and then about 100 yards away is the main shop, a 3 story historic rowhouse that is now 3 floors of beautiful gifts, housewares and amazingly soft bamboo clothing.
The guys that own the shop are super friendly and nice and will happily help you find whatever it is you are looking for, without badgering you into buying it. Would recommend this store to anyone looking for a gift, unique home stuff for your home or just a nice treat for yourself. I wanted to buy everything I saw… especially the Botanicus candles, Le Creuset mini casserole dishes, and bamboo yoga pants and wrap — afraid if I buy them I will never take them off, they feel so good!
Next time you are in Ellicott City go to the Good Life, it’s definitely worth the trip.
