Update: I guess the first reviewer deleted their one star review — probably because it was completely baseless. Anyhow, we have lived here for even more time now, and allow me to toot its horn even louder. We have had maintenance issues, minor(toilet, dishwasher) and major(HUGEEEE leak leaving our upstairs and stairs and downstairs hallway squishy), and each time management and maintenance has responded even better than we could have possibly imagined. With the big leak, I came home to squishy carpet and they were up instantly the moment I called the office. It was spreading, and fast. They got right to work drying it all off and vacuuming up all the water. Apparently there was a leak in the unit above where all the water came down to us. They dried it pretty well and put a dehumidifier in here to help with the humidity, but the carpet padding was still very damp after a few days. We voiced our concerns about mold to the office — they came up to look at it, then called me from downstairs a few minutes later to say they would replace the padding done professionally with a contractor as soon as we were ready and got all our stuff downstairs. No questions asked. They even offered their staff to help us move our stuff downstairs. We continue to be wowed by this community each day and cannot recommend it enough! Don’t even think about looking anywhere else.

Having spent some time recently touring other apartments in the area, I can conclusively say this is as good as it gets. The walls are very thick, I very rarely hear my neighbors. The hallways are likewise VERY quiet, it’s actually a little odd how few people you seem to hear or run into considering how many people live at this property. Parking seems to be adequate. I have never seen the overflow lot full and covered parking is available. The fixtures are brand new and are very high quality as are the appliances. I had a big issue with my freezer that I fully expected management to fight with me about. Instead, they just got me a new fridge less than 48 hours after I reported the problem. They even put my refrigerator magnets back on the new fridge in the same places they were on the old one. Utilities are included and the AC/heat is controlled by the resident with no price cap(one of the reasons I don’t mind how much I pay for rent). Maintenance is very prompt and the staff is very friendly. They will even come hang things for you which has been great since I don’t own a drill. Requests are usually taken care of same day. The grounds are very well maintained, I attribute that partly to the quality of the staff but I also believe it’s because the people who live here all value living in a pristine place. I have never seen trash in the elevator or in the hall. Lets hope it stays this way… They throw very high quality resident events every 6 weeks or so where they have local businesses come and serve food/wine for the residents. I have yet to go to a bad event. Not only is the food/wine fantastic, the other residents are very friendly and personable people. There are a lot of young professionals but there is also a sizable older population as well, which typically makes for some very interesting conversation. I have also used the lounge to watch events that are on channels that I don’t get with my cable package and invariably, other residents will also stop in and watch as well(the staff also usually end up popping in and watching too) and it’s always a good time. They also have an easter egg hunt for gift cards, though I warn you, the staff doesn’t play around with hiding the eggs. The property itself is right next to the river and there are tables and benches that overlook it which make for nice reading/dining spot during the summer months. It is definitely a welcome break from staring at a computer and being stuck in traffic all day, very relaxing. The property is also a short walk to historic downtown Ellicott City which is also a pretty good time. They have a LOT of events year round so there is always something to do or see. This place is on the higher end of the rent scale for me but while you pay a lot, you also get a lot so I would say this is money well spent.

My fiancé and I moved to Oella Mill about six months ago and love it. Our apartment is quality, the views are terrific, and the service is incredible. I don’t know how to recommend an apartment complex more highly. The apartments and common areas were well designed with the building was renovated in the mid-2000s. Tall ceilings, huge windows, a lounge area that could battle any trendy bar for its interior design, a library(yes, library) and a backyard area with river access that will make you think you’re at a mountain resort. All within walking distance of downtown Ellicott City. The staff here go out of their way to be friendly and make your day more enjoyable; whether it’s opening doors when you’re bogged down with groceries to feeding your cat when you go on vacation. And whenever something goes wrong it’s taken care of right away. I think lightbulb replacement took 24 – 48 hours, and when our sink started leaking someone was there within an hour. You can and should try to rent an apartment here, but you won’t get ours. We’re not leaving anytime soon.
