This used to be my favorite place to browse and shop for local artwork and craft items, but no more. The customer service is terrible! This«studio» is nothing more than a gift shop, and I recently learned that the owner does not stand behind the quality of anything she sells. I was very disappointed in the poor quality of an item I purchased recently that broke within a week of normal use. The owner could not have cared less, and I had been a very good regular customer. Her response left me speechless. Just be careful if you buy anything from SoLace because it’s all about money, not at all about customer satisfaction. Although this shop seems to offer only high-quality items, I assure you they are not always well made nor are they all worth the high cost. I learned this the hard way, but at least it did not involve hundreds of $s. Because the owner of SoLace was no help, I am pursuing an exchange or credit thru the potter in Oregon who made the flimsy(defective?) sponge holder I purchased from her here in Virginia. $ 14.50 is not a lot of $, but it’s a lot to pay for a tiny piece of pottery that broke after falling just once from the counter top into a stainless steel sink. I’ve never broken a piece of pottery before, and none of my other kitchen pottery pieces broke when I pushed them off the counter so they fell(several times) into this same sink. So, I know it is either defective or poorly designed. Just glad I didn’t buy it as a little gift for someone. I will never go back because of the«I could not care less» attitude of the owner. I just don’t do business with companies unless they offer good customer service, and this one does not. However, I will still give them 2 stars for having many beautiful things. Just don’t be fooled into thinking they stand behind whatever they sell if there is a problem. They do not. Expect the owner to blame you and to just not care.

Wish this shop was in Northern Virginia! My husband & I were passing through and stopped in town to see a large oak tree we read about. People could not have been friendlier and the shop had the most beautiful and nature inspired jewelry and yard art. The marbled leather and scarves reminded me of Florence, Italy. I would definitely go out of my way to stop there again, this time with more money to buy things.

I enjoyed browsing through all of the beautiful and whimsical one-of-a-kind art and gifts. Found the perfect gift for a friend. Glad we took the Route 33 Business in Elkton. Will definitely stop in again when we come through again! It is located at 193 w. Spotswood Avenue in Elkton, VA.
