Something nice first… The parking was easy. Now for the Food!: The most tasteless crab legs I’ve ever had! All that work to open them and they were tasteless! Our waitress was wonderful. Mick whoever he is, needs to go crabbing and stop buying frozen tasteless crabs…

Went to Mick’s for the first time lastnight to celebrate my sister’s birthday and I must say we had a very nice time! The waiter was very attentive and even though she was bartending as well the other waitress would help out and make sure our table and other’s were ok. The salads are really fresh and good. We had the ayce crabs, salads, buffalo wings, and oysters everything was fresh and delicious. The crabs were a little small but thats due to the water still being cold and crabs being scarce. The drinks were good too! Try the $ 18 fishbowl. If you are into beer the beer prices are great. We requested to speak with the owner and he came to the table right away. Mick is very nice and down to earth and had no problem answering any questions we had and spoke with us for about 20 mins. We will definitely be returning and recommending this establishment.

I have been going here for a few years now and love their crabs! They are always cooked right, great prices and service. The employee Stacey always takes care of me and my friend when we go. Knows our order already since we go so much lol. I like how you can buy per crab too so you can order just the right amount. They usually offer an all you can eat too at a great price. I recommend this place to all seafood lovers! Request Stacey for great service!

Parking was easy outside and walking in was greeted with a lot of scented candle smells, which weren’t too bad. Friendly staff seated the wife and I and our waitress went through the menu clearly. We were here for 1 thing, the CRABS, so we got 1 dozen of the LARGE sized crabs as well as some drinks and corn on the cob. The freshness and taste of the crab was definitely not there and we even got 2 crabs that were completely black, shriveled, and rotted and just plain dead on the inside but looked ok the outside. We informed the waitress and she immediately told the kitchen to steam up 2 new ones for us, which was nice. The corn was nothing out of the norm. Another thing was that the air conditioning was really strong and made our crabs really cold by the time we were each on our 3rd/4th crab. Word of advice, if you are going to be eating a lot of crabs, space out your orders so the crabs don’t get too cold. They definitely taste better nice and steaming hot. Overall, would not return to this place as the crabs here do not taste as fresh as the other places I’ve been to. Not sure if it was just a bad shipment or I picked a bad day, but there are plenty of other crab houses in the area to try, after all, it is Maryland!

Stopped in for dinner with my family on a Saturday night. Wasn’t sure what to expect, but from the moment we arrived until the moment we left, it was a wonderful experience. We had several special requests and each one was met with no problem. The hostess was very nice as was the server. As for the food: the rockfish was cooked perfectly, the crab imperial was fabulous. The crabcakes were nice sized, not a lot of filler, but a little heavy on the old bay. The salmon was cooked perfectly also, a decent size for the price. I will be definitely be going back to this restaurant in the future.

I will keep this review brief, but to summarize, it’s almost like this restaurant doesn’t really want you to eat here. Waited 15 minutes to be sat. When they took us back to seat us, there were maybe 16 empty tables. I assume it’s because 2 of the 3 servers were brand new. The servers were, however, very friendly and the only redeeming part of the whole experience. Waited 25 minutes for our appetizer to come out. Buffalo shrimp. Not bad, but nothing remarkable. Wife orders White Sangria, tastes like it’s mostly just a cordial and sprite. Pours it into her water glass to order a new drink. Again, server was sweet enough so didn’t want to ask her to send it back. I order 2 dozen little neck clams. They are all the size of about a penny, and very dry. I have added a picture for reference. Wife orders the grilled chicken salad, which is supposed to have tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, onions. It had only romaine, grilled chicken, and croutons with dressing on the side. Usually we are easy going but this is one of the few places we would tell people to absolutely avoid. Very glad we didn’t order the crabs if the rest of the experience was any indication.

1st time in MD eating crabs and this was a useless experience. The food took very long. When it did come out it was in waves of 2 and some plates were cold. Ran out of mashed and baked potatoes. No scallops and all you can eat crabs was out. The orders came out wrong and so long to get water. I have never been so unhappy at a restaurant. The customer service was so bad. It was basically non existent. I don’t know how anyone would go back to this. Plus adding tip let’s the waitress ‘ve lazy.

Great crabs even off season — very yummy flavor and nice and heavy.

Mick’s was a down to earth, kitchen atmosphere, bare bones, back to the basics, foor in the arse, seafood chow down sort of place. Brown paper on the table, brown paper on rolls to clean your hands, a bucket or two to throw the shells, and you’re doing it MD style! Don’t kid yourself. The ambiance was horrendous, the place quiet, the food rocked! If they made it a bit more interesting– I’d have enjoyed it more. TV, music, something to look at? My only complaint was if I ordered unlimited crab… why should I wait 20 minutes between one pot to the next… when there were four people eating? KEEPEMCOMMING! …same with the beer!

Went to MD for the weekend on we were driving back on Sunday when we realized we did not have any crabs yet. We found this place on our way home and went in. It was very fresh and tasty. The old bay seasoning was a bit strong though. I wish we got there for the $ 1 crab hour but we missed it. We paid $ 2 a crab which wasn’t bad either.

Visited on a Wednesday for $ 1 crabs and live music. Did not disappoint! We also had steamed clams and hubby ordered scallops. Everything was hot and fresh and delicious. The service was outstanding as well. If we didn’t live in the desert we’d be here every week!

We visited Mick’s on a friday in early November to have the AYCE Crabs. I know that the bay blue crabs are hard to find this time of years, I was told that these crabs came from the South Carolina area. Where ever they came from, they weren’t as tasty as our blue crabs. I couldn’t eat any of the«mustard» in the crabs(my favorite part). The service was really good and the ambiance was nice. If it weren’t for the taste, I would have given them 4 or 5 stars. The only other thing I wanted to share is that I had to pay for 4 people @$ 30 a head for large even though only one member of my party wanted the large crabs.

Mick’s Crab House opened recently in the building that used to be Bentley’s on Rt. 40 and I am sooo excited for a new AYCE crab place. The restaurant was newly redecorated and looked very beachy and casual. They have all-you-can-eat crabs at $ 20 for mediums or $ 30 for larges and it comes with fries and hush puppies. They also have a regular menu and sell crabs individually or by the dozen for those who don’t want to crack crabs for hours(although I don’t know why you wouldn’t want to do that!). I had a chance to talk to the owner briefly as he came around checking on the tables. He is still doing some work to the place and I was most interested in his plans to add draft beer behind the bar. In the meantime, they have a huge selection of bottled beers and other mixed drinks. My boyfriend and I both got the AYCE medium crabs and they were awesome! They were really fat and sweet and delicious! In fact, they were a little fatter than some take-out #1 males I got last week from a place in DE… We ended up eating 3 orders and in the 2nd order, a couple crabs were a little mushy inside. That is my only complaint. But it was no problem because we just placed another order and they were as perfect as the 1st order! Service was super attentive and we left stuffed with crab. Can’t wait to go back very soon. Since they are new I don’t think they have a website or anything yet so you may want to call about their hours before going. I think they are closed a couple days… maybe Mon & Tue? But if you like crab, you should definitely check it out!
