McAdoo’s completely made my day! My sister in law could not wait to take me to lunch here and boy was she right. I had the chicken sandwich with marinated roasted red peppers on ciabatta and it may have been, honestly, the best chicken sandwich I have ever had. I had to ask myself if I was just so impressed because I had such low expectations. My past experiences in Elko regarding eating out were far from pleasant, but this was a great meal and would’ve been a great meal anywhere. We went at lunch so it was a little crowded and quite loud, but so are any good restaurants at peak times. My only real complaint is the wait staff were… eh. Not rude by any stretch, but they were not over friendly either and seemed… I don’t know. Fake? Not really the word I’m looking for but they just kind of seemed like they’d love to be shitty to us if they could’ve gotten away with it. Maybe it’s just my perception but they had a bit of an attitude. The absolute knock out quality of the food and an otherwise nice atmosphere and experience still makes this place a must stop if you’re in Elko.

Ordered sandwich special, which came with a salad. Lovely staff but lunch was just ok. Ordered the chicken Caesar salad sandwich. The chicken was tender, but the dressing didn’t taste like Caesar. The ciabatta was toasted, yet had none of the texture of a fresh ciabatta — more like a soft roll. Not the best for taking on the road, as it was drippy. Not sure where to grad a to go lunch go Elko for an alternative to fast food fare.

We stopped by here for lunch on 2÷15÷16 during our CA to CT roadtrip. I ordered the burgers with the house salad. It was suprisingly good! That goes to show one must not judge an establishment by the looks of a sleepy town.

Had the croissant sandwich — very tasty. Pancakes were great as well. This is the best breakfast you’ll get in this town. Highly recommend!

great little breakfast place with good specials, staff was friendly and the place was clean. That is the most that you can ask of a breakfast food place, so I am happy that I ended up here…

What attracted me to this place was their quaint mom&pop look. I ordered a take out lunch for the both of us, asking for our sandwich and soup to be split two ways. When I arrived to retrieve me order, everything was placed in cute individual lunch boxes, and what was inside was SOYUMM! I ordered us their December special sandwich(a grilled turkey sandwich with a tomato pesto spread and spinach and red onion) and their French onion soup. Everything was so yummy that I didn’t mind the price. I’ve noticed that there’s some chatter about price. Their prices are rightfully competitive for their quality and taste. Don’t come in with a McDonalds Budget, because they’ve set a higher standard for their food. I think I have definitely found a place to look forward to going to when I arrive back in Elko. I would recommend this place to anyone searching for a ‘healthier’ bite, or looking for a better quality food besides fast food.

My boyfriend and I were traveling from Chicago to San Francisco and needed a solid, tasty lunch after driving from Salt Lake City. We didn’t want fast food and both were craving a sandwich and McAdoo’s seemed like the best shot. Our waitress immediately seated us and brought us water. I think she was the only waitress during the busy lunch hour! She gave us suggestions for sandwiches and salad dressing as we told her we’d be taking the sandwiches to-go since we needed to hit the road. She was very thoughtful and told us she’d rush our order since we were in a hurry. We had an amazing turkey club sandwich and the house salad dressing was scrumptious. I wish McAdoo’s was in my area! The restaurant’s décor is a bit cheesy but it made it feel cozy. If you want a healthy lunch choice, I definitely recommend McAdoo’s. They also had some«pink drink» which looked yummy but we were driving :)

Perfect lunch spot. Unique refreshing beverages such as the blueberry Arnold Palmer, and pear lemonade. Chili with cornbread and grilled cheese were really good. Def glad we stopped by on our road trip.

Amazing big city food in a small town. This place is amazing. I was looking for a place to eat and stumbled upon this place for breakfast. The menu is small but very nice, the food delicious and the service was very friendly. Pancakes were awesome

What a surprise. I ate with my wife and kids starting the second day of a 2-day road trip. Open face egg sandwich with arugula was a delicious and nutritious start of the day. I had the pancakes as my side and they were also terrific. Coffee was ok — not bad, not great.

We stopped in on our trip from Utah back home to California. What a great local spot. Everything was delicious. My son polished off his burger in about 2 minutes. Our girls got the Red Velvet pancakes… OMGoodness…my daughter said it’s the best thing she’s ever eaten. My husband loved the breakfast burrito. And my BLTA was delicious. The server was super friendly. We would definitely stop here again if we are heading this way. Well worth the stop.

Delicious, very impressed. Unique but simple menu, decently priced, fun atmosphere. We’re not Elko natives so we relied on Unilocal to help us find a fun, local breakfast place. I can see why McAdoo’s has so many positive reviews. It’s a classy, modern diner with a touch of retro. If we’re ever back in elko, we’ll be back here for sure.

Wondering through Nevada and you come across Elko… Well you must stop at this little special eatery! The service is fast for homemade food. Very friendly and observant waitstaff. Our food was hot and extremely tasty. Egg avocado croissant breakfast sandwich or chorizo egg scramble are highly recommended.

Stopped here on our way from Utah to CA thanks to Unilocal.Excellent little place. Wanted a place that had good quality food and was relatively quick. Prickly pear limeaid was good as was the blueberry tea. The house salad and French onion soup was fantastic and their chicken sandwich was loaded with flavor. We finished it off with a chocolate cream cheese raspberry bar. So good. Service was very quick and friendly. Great place for breakfast or lunch. Would definitely go again.

Snobby food. I heard someone call this place snobby food. I guess I like snobby food because I have come here three times while working in Elko. The food is always good. The pancakes are always amazing… and the price is always just a little higher than I would like to pay. ;) But seriously, I had a tomato soup that was thick and chunky and tasty… I could have easily put it over a bowl of pasta. The burritos that I have had for breakfast have been just splendid. One thing that you might want to beware of… sometimes they run out of stuff. For me, I like that, I would rather know they have ran out of stuff, than feed me something that could be pushing that expiration date. It just means I need to be flexible. Plus their location is right next to a really great coffee place. Maybe the best in town… so far at least. They have daily specials so keep an eye peeled for those too.

It’s a very cute café downtown. They only serve breakfast and lunch. The cakes and baked goods looked yummy. I went in for breakfast on a Wednesday morning at 7:30 am. The quiche of the day definitely wasn’t made that day. The crust was soggy and mushy. The tea bag string came off in my drink. The fruit salad did have fresh strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries which was a nice touch — but then at the bottom it had canned peaches — that was kind of weird. There is street parking and a lot around the corner.

Some previous reviewers complained about the potatoes. And they’re right — the potatoes are bad, but that was the only thing I could find wrong with this place! The food was delicious, well-portioned — not super huge but you don’t leave hungry, that’s for sure. The service was friendly and fast. This is a definite must for breakfast in Elko. We ordered the strawberry waffle, the croissant with eggs, avocado and greens, the yogurt parfait, and the French toast. I tasted them all and they were all perfectly flavored and fresh. The parfait is beautiful with fresh berries and peaches. Coffee is good too. Strong and hot.
