Of my 1,300 food reviews in roughly two years this is my 13th1-star review and it’s deserved. I’ll be honest, this is the first time I’ve eaten at the KFC in roughly two decades. I’m not a big fast food fan, but I’ve been known to eat at Raisin Canes, Zaxby’s and Bojangles often. So I know chicken tenders and fried chicken. The other chains blow away KFC. However, in Elkins those much better options aren’t available and two of my fast food eating junkie buddies figured KFC would be a suitable substitute. I walked in with an open mind, took one bite and stopped eating. The chicken tenders had little to no meat, were bone dry and tasted like something that had been sitting out for hours. It was possibly the worst chicken tender I’ve ever had. My buddy who is 6 – 4 and 370 pounds — and frankly lives off fast food — tried the Nashville hot chicken and said it was terrible. The third member of our party ordered fried chicken and spit it out after one bite(and this guy lives on McDonalds). It was mushy and tasted old, he said. Fortunately, we spent less than $ 20 on the meal. We tossed it and drove to Sheetz, grabbed sandwiches and went fishing. The food was horrid. I wish it looked like the KFC commercials. We would have barfed if we did any Finger Licking.
