To start my review let me list a little history. We purchased a washer and dryer from them several years ago. Loved their price and delivery. Very friendly people. When we needed a dishwasher we again purchased from Higley’s. Still liked them. Then in 2014 we purchased a stove and refrigerator from them. The refrigerator has some icing problems after a couple of months. Higley’s came out and spent about 2 hours fixing it. Now in 2015 the refrigerator is icing up again and quit cooling. I called Higley’s only to be told the refrigerator was one week out of warranty. So they would have to charge me full price to fix it. No give, full price. Even after being a long term repeat customer they would not give any type of a break. Full price or nothing. I defrosted it myself. It worked for about a week and quit cooling again. So I called Maytag. They told me first, no problem they would gladly extend my warranty to cover fixing it. Then they said, wait a minute, it still has 4 weeks to go in the warranty so absolutely no problem fixing it. This is why I rate Higley’s one star. I feel they were trying to screw me and make money by saying it was out of warranty when it was not. So my caution to all of you is you may want to look elsewhere because apparently Higley’s is not all it is cracked up to be. I certainly will not go back to them. Here is an update. Maytag called and told me they could not get the replacement parts they need to fix my fridge. So, they will replace it free since it is still under warranty. Had I listened to Higley’s first they would have charged me to come out and look at it. Then since the parts are not available, they would have been happy to SELL me another fridge to replace the broken one that is still in warranty. NOTNICEPEOPLE if you ask me.
