I travel weekly for the past 20 years and must say this was the most friendly staff I have ever encountered. Besides friendly, and most importantly, this hotel is very well maintained and the cleanest I have ever encountered. I am normally use to Hilton and the newer Holiday Inn Express hotels and have had good and bad experiences in the past 20 years. I wasn’t originally happy having to lodge at Candlewood, a place I have never lodged at before. I was quite surprised once I made it to my room. If I had to say anything negative of this place is that the business center computer was out of date and unable to open or print my document.(old msoffice version) The manager let me in his office and I was able to print using his PC. Thank you sir! Again, this is the cleanest and most up to date I have stayed at to date. Keep up the good work and I will surely stay at your hotel when in town again.

In all fairness I Pricelined this dump, so you get why you pay for. Upon checking in I was told that they gave me a smoking room(I didn’t even realize people still smoke in hotels anymore). I politely asked to switch to a non-smoking room and was told that they«have» to give me the room that priceline reserved. I mentioned that it was 11pm and that I was checking out at 5 am and couldn’t possibly see how this would even be an issue; judging from the parking lot, they needed to sell about 50 more rooms to be at capacity, so space was certainly not an issue. Finally, after 20 minutes and a call to the manager, they switched me to a non-smoking room(which they first asked me to pay $ 15 additional dollars for – after some protest they acquiesced and just gave me this amazing upgrade for free). Now the fun part, my kids and I finally get into the room and the first thing I notice is that it smells like a mix of Indian food and a baby’s diaper(I was relatively certain it was not us because my kids are long outta diapers and it’s been a few month since I’ve woofed down any curry). If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Now if they had better customer service, cleaner rooms, a motif that didn’t scream ‘80s murder mystery, and upgraded the smell to something other than garbage, I might bump them up a star. This is literally my only negative review on Unilocal to date – that’s how compelled I felt to let future travelers beware.
