Soccer City and Rugby

Never will I shop here. I have spent slot of money here over the years, but today when taking my son to buy «very expensive» soccer cleats, I was informed by the «kid» trying to help me that I would have to pay $ 4.00 just for my son to try these shoes on. I was so offended that I came home and ordered the same one’s from
. Free shipping and $ 20.00 less. I will never spend another dime in this store.

Love this place! I can drop in and quickly fulfill my soccer needs. They have a great selection of jerseys from around the world. The customer service is great always willing to assist in looking for something or trying out some shoes. It’s a bit pricey-​what professional sport isn’t?- but they have great racks of sale items that I always find a worthy and cheap buy!

Soccer City has made an effort to become better with selection and customer service in recent years. As you can read from the other reviews, spotty customer service has in fact been the main downside. I’m happy now to update the review to 4 stars as a result of my experiences in the last few months. Here’s the pros:
* The only store in the Elk Grove area that has everything you need for soccer including a wide selection: Cleats (indoor and outdoor), Socks, Shin Guards, Shorts, Shirts, and Balls.
* They match online price. In fact, I’ve found that Soccer City’s prices are often lower than what I was able to find from credible online stores.
* I have special ordered cleats from them and the items was delivered fast & accurately.
* They now have knowledgeable and friendly staff that have or has played soccer.
Room for improvement:
* I wished they had a larger store, I feel claustrophobic with all the selection and wished it was spread out more.
* Their hours are limited as with most specialty stores — make sure to call ahead of time.

Don’t tell me you will «match an online price» then get me to the register and say «except that online price». And the kicker is they lost my sale over $ 10.29. For me customer service means something. As a business, stand behind what you say and if you take a little less than your asking but I’m happy, I’ll come back and you’d get repeat business. Now I won’t ever come back and I have 3 other kids to shop for. I do not recommend this place to anyone.

Not sure what happened to other reviewers but customer service was awesome! Guys there were a huge help getting my son just what he needed. This place has probably everything you could want or need for soccer. Its crowded with merch but if jist ask the giys will take you to exactly what you are looking for. They even hooked us up with a discount on some gear. I guess if you treat people nice and with respect you will get the same in return. Also got to stop by the awesome popcorn store that is next door!

Love this place! I’ve always received great customer service and they exceed the needs of myself and my son! They have the latest and greatest. Soccer heaven

I was very skeptical of coming here given the not so great reviews. However, I was greeted immediately and was asked if I needed help finding anything. The young man that helped me was awesome. He helped me find everything I needed for my 5 year old for his upcoming soccer league. I was very impressed with the options that they had for kids and I will definitely be back if my son continues to play.

Sketchy spot. Spotty customer service. Claustrophobic-​mania.
Hole in the wall for soccer needs. This is the only place that carries a few styles of soccer pants (sizing is limited or sold out many times), which is usually the main reason for my visits. Sport’s Authority and Sport’s Chalet doesn’t have a broad selection in that category, but Soccer City does!
All the clothes racks are clustered together, you have to squeeze through the store! Sometimes I walk into the shop and there’s no staff in sight for 10 – 15 minutes. If I didn’t already know where the soccer pants are located in the store, I would’ve gotten no assistance. By the time they come out to assist me, I’m usually ready to get rung up… perfect timing… NOT.

Employees tend to just hang out in there and don’t really help you until you ask. Plus their inventory is always the same. (Coming from a current soccer player) if you’re searching for something for kids, It’s perfect! But if you want the latest and greatest, go online.

The only reason this place gets a star is because of the older guy who came from the back of the store and asked if I needed help. Literally stood there for over 15 minutes while the young girl helped someone she knew in the shoe section and didn’t acknowledge us. Will never recommend or refer anyone to spend their money here.

Customer service and return policy = not at this store!
I read the Unilocal reviews before shopping at Soccer City in Elk Grove and found the one star ratings to be true. You can tell they’ve had issues regarding their return policy because they have posted signs all over the store. I bought a pair of soccer shoes for my daughter and while the unfriendly clerk with zero personality processed the transaction, we noticed another pair of shoes at her counter we liked better. Believe it or not, but the clerk was actually reluctant to give us a return and exchange for this other pair of shoes… after only 30 seconds of completing the first transaction! She even misquoted her own return policy so I had to read, in English, what the home made sign tapped to her register actually said. What a joke. I recommend shopping for soccer gear at a different store or the Internet.

Terrible customer service. I was looking for a new pair of shoes. I barely got greeted when I walked in and there were a handful of staff and no other customers. They pointed me towards the shoes, made no recommendations and asked no questions. I definitely recommend Kombat Soccer over this place.

Terrible customer service & inadequate products!!! I bought goalie gloves for my daughter that broke the first game she used them. I called the store to see if they would rectify this and provide her a replacement pair. I was told on the phone that if I came into the store they’d take care of it. I brought the gloves in and was told they won’t help me. The gloves were only $ 12 and what disturbed and insulted me the most is that they treated me like a criminal over $ 12 goalie gloves AFTER they assured me on the phone they would make it right. While I can afford new gloves, the principle of the matter is what is most upsetting. Not only did they LIE to me, they treated me so poorly that after 5 years of loyally buying my daughter’s soccer supplies from them, I refuse to ever shop there again!

The staff always make my visits pleasant. I believe that many of them actually play soccer and so they are knowledgeable enough to answer my questions. They carry a large selection of cleats, shin guards, and apparel. I have purchased several pairs of cleats, some long soccer pants, and many other items during my numerous visits. I will definitely visit this store again.
