One of the greatest things I have found to keep me motivated, inspire me, give myself the accountability is Moms in Motion!!! Want to get going but the gym is too expensive or too intimidating or monotonous? Want to find a group to inspire you and make you feel comfortable at the same time? So did I! Mom’s In Motion with Wendy Hoag is awesome!!! I also do not care too much for weight training. Personally I have chronic inflammatory arthritis issues that pulling on weight machines(or in my case, them pulling on me) caused more pain than good. So I was talking to Wendy, and she said I should try Core. I walked into her class with similar reservation as I would the gym, being early on into my metamorphosis I am still so self-conscious to be honest. When I walked out, I felt in a word… AMAZING. Because you know what? The women were awesome, and all in their own stages of their journey. There were women of every fitness level in that class, and we all sweated together, laughed together, and were inspired together. There was no judgment by any women there, except my prejudiced thinking that they would judge me. I was so wrong. Since that first class about a month ago, I can honestly say, I am addicted. Wendy makes it easy enough for beginners and challenging enough for those who are well into their journey. Everyone benefits. I had lost about 17 pounds prior to joining Core, and have lost weight since then, but even more importantly, I have lost inches! It wasn’t until after I added Core to my fitness routine that people started noticing. I have learned from my very wise uncle that muscle may weigh more than fat, but it takes up a lot less real estate! It also helps you burn more calories through out your day. So don’t neglect strength training, even though your cardio is extremely important to fitness, so is strength! Looking to train to get your run on? Moms In Motion has that trick up it’s sleeve too! I completed my first 5K with Moms in Motion. I asked my hubby to join me because I was so scared I would hit the finish line to a rolled up Finish Line banner and the sound of crickets, but guess what? Not only did I not finish last(woo hoo!) but when I crossed the finish line all the other MIM members who finished before me were waiting to cheer me across that line! No woman left behind! This is why I truly love this group. And I truly attribute a lot of my success to varying my workouts with MIM.
