This place is awesome! Driving down Elk Grove Blvd and the wonderful smell of beef drew me to this place for the first time. Love the beef and chicken kabobs! Baklava gets two thumbs up, too. Just GO!

OK meal but nothing too special that makes me crave it again. The chicken kabob plate is second to best I’ve had. Im a fan of the rice and it definitely helps that it comes in a large portion! Chicken breast maintains juicy and tender. Might get dry if heated up as leftovers. Fresh salad with tzatziki dressing was good too. Was not a fan of the Chaplee plate. Warning: so much spice you can’t tell its ground beef. The two patties was rather thick so the insides were mushy. Favorite part was the rice. Bolani: large order for 9.99 as expected. Most slices were soggy by the time it got to our table. Would’ve been nice if the outsides were crispy. We also got an order of Curry Only. But it was served with chicken in it anyway, thanks! The bread it came with was so yummy. I think she mentioned it was free so it might’ve come with any meal. They’re the huge slices that sit on top of their front counter. Hopped over to Cookie Jar next door for dessert :-)

I came here with a Vegetarian friend of mine so we steered clear of the meats! We orded bolani and eggplant(both are appetizers, both 9.99). The bolani is an outrageously huge portion! It went really well with the eggplant dish. My friend is a picky eater but she enjoyed everything, except for the(I think) cilantro lime sauce. I WISH places that sauces/dips like Bolani East West that you find at the farmers market… but it probably wouldn’t be as authentic. In the end, we had two portions to go for each of us. They give you such a generous amount! My only complaint is the customer service. They sell to-go foods and desserts in the front and the restaurant is on the side. I felt like they forgot about us quite frequently. I got thirsty lots of times. I also had to go up and ask for to-go boxes because it took too long for her to come by our table.

We decided to try this place out. First time to the place but have heard good things about it from a cousin. The restaurant is located on the corner of Bruceville and Elk Grove Boulevard(same shopping center as the Kohl’s). When you first walk in you are greeted by a lady behind the register and next to all the sweets — so many to chose from. The restaurant is very simple and very clean. The tables are not sticky at all. Glass table tops over linen with small chandeliers decorating the tables — very unique and classy at the same time. Menu is very simple with not too many options. The lady who helped us was very friendly and helpful. It seemed as though she was the only one working the front area. It wasn’t extremely busy but there were quite a few tables. We ended up ordering 4 Lamb Gyros and a Lamb Skewer. Food did not take long to come out. Everything was nice and warm. The Lamb Skewers were very tender and had lots of flavor. So if you like spice, this is the place for you. There was a small cup of some type of dressing or sauce — sort of tangy(can’t quite figure out what it is). The rest of the family had the Gyros and loved it. Nice size and very filling. We will definitely be returning to try other things on their menu.

Kabobs and chutney are delicious! They lady at the front is also very sweet. Just be warned, if you order the 3 kabob combo, she won’t let u get 2 of the same meat lol.

Their Bolani came out piping hot. It was a large portion that can probably feed a group of 6 – 8 people. I ordered the combo beef and chicken. I don’t know how I feel about this place, so to be fair, I’m only giving 2 and half to 3 stars. This is afghan food. Don’t come here for Pakistani food.

Fantastic dining experience overall! Service: It was my first time here and the owners were happy to answer all my questions about items on the menu. They were very friendly and upbeat! Food: I chose the veggie kabob over rice with a side of salad and naan. The grilled kabob was delicious and balanced the zest and crunch of fresh veggies with just the perfect amount of smoky flavor. I tried the Baklava for dessert and it was absolutely DIVINE! Ambience: There were a few other families in their well-decorated dining room and everyone seemed to be having a good time.

We had the Bolani and Chicken kabob meals. The Bolani appetizer was good for 3 – 4 people and the chicken kabob was plentiful as well. The lady who worked behind the register was extremely sweet and courteous, with excellent customer service. We enjoyed our food, and would probably return.

Great food. I have travelled to AFG several times in the past 5 years and eaten in local markets and homes. Eating here brought me back to many good memories with a great culture/people. I don’t normally leave reviews but felt compelled due to the great quality here. I have tried all the other AFG restaurants in EG — this is by far the best(in my opinion).

Came here for dinner the other night. Its always been a place I always wanted to try. We decided to do take-away and ordered the combination plate — with lamb and chicken. It was served with rice, naan, salad and chutney. Yeah! A lot of food. The food was very tasty but the lamb was a little dry. Also it is a bit pricey compared to other similar restaurants. While waiting for our food, we tried the Baklava — so good so delicious. Customer service was great. Parking is readily available. I wouldn’t mind going back to this restaurant.

More like 3.5 stars. The service was VERY nice. Sweet lady, even though she forgot my tomatos. But she was sweet. The place itself was quiet. Well it was completely empty, considering it was peak lunch time. The food I recall during my first visit many moons ago was amazing. This place is what planted the seed of Middle Eastern food amazement in my heart. Okay pls don’t judge me if Afghanistan is really not in Middle East. Let’s just say it is for simplicity sake. Or for laziness sake to check google sake. But anyway, this place, many moons ago was what caused me to beg my Hubby every couple dates to ask him.“Hunny can we go to Kabob Palace?” He usually said no. But this time he said yes! Well, it wasn’t as I remembered. I ordered the lamb kabob, simply becaause every lamb kabob I have had since Kabob Palace has been superior. I.E. The lamb kabob plate at Kabob & Gyro down on Laguna Blvd is A-flippin-mazin. AND it’s only $ 10.99. Then, the lamb kabob plate at Aria in Galleria mall is pretty tasty too, even though it’s at a mall. So, coming back here, after a few months of not coming, I expected great stuff. That ray of sunshine through a boring mid-week haze was intently anticipated. One bite into it left me yearning for more. The rice was plentiful, the lamb, which looked more like hand formed balls of ground lamb formed into an extra long snowman, was just okay. I think it came with salad & pita too. But frankly, for $ 15 a plate, I expected slap-yo-mama-to-the-next-city great. We are talking a lunch plate for $ 15, not even dinner. Expensive? Yes. Ugh, maybe I should have went the the taco truck, I’m thinking at this point. But every place deserves a second chance, right? Moving along… the mango lassi, albiet from a plastic bottle, was pretty good. It even has real bacteria in it. No, not like goo on the bottom of your shoe bacteria, but like those bacteria you see in quality yogurt bacteria. It was creamy & tasty too, I said to Hubby, with a frown.“Hunny, this is in a plastic bottle.” He said back, «If it was served in a glass cup with a sprig of mint, you would be quiet.» Point taken. And the beru berini, whose name I really just bashed, which is the eggplant with white swirls of cream on it, was decent. But not foodgasm good like it was a while back. I really get a sad imogi face when food was good THEN than it is now. People who live in this expanse of EG suburbia like me, really NEED reliable foodgasm experiences throughout the dragging week. Considering my typical day is surrounded by poopy diapers & unpaid refereeing between a 2 year old & a 5 year old. Anyway, it just wasn’t as good. However, Hubby, always the glass-is-half-full person is happy like an ant carrying a grain of rice. He likes all his food a lot. Well, I probably won’t be his lunch date there anymore. At least for now.

The food is really good, and the service is good too! This was my first time trying this food but I will be back! I recommend the combo chicken-ground beef plate. It includes rice and salad and good size pieces of meat. Also they bring you triangular pieces of bread.

This place opened up a few years ago close to our neighborhood. They always serve us the same quality of food and we are always satisfied every time we come. I suggest you try something new every visit to experience their cusine. The place is family owned and you see that in the food they prepare. The reason for the 4 stars is the décor, that’s just a personal preference in my case.

Horrible. I called an order in. Chicken & beef. When I arrived the older man kept telling me I was wrong and I ordered Lamb and beef. After a few minutes of actually arguing with me, his wife straightened him out. Then he tried to convince me to take the lamb. No thanks. Last he tried to charge me for it! During our exchange another man came in – the two began speaking in a different language and laughing. I really felt like they were making fun of me. I’d just like to add that the floor looks like it hasn’t been swept or mopped in months. It makes me wonder how clean the kitchen is. I won’t be back, which is a shame because the food is tasty. I just don’t see how they keep customers coming back. **Update** I just got a message from a guy named Omar H. telling me to remove my review because I have the wrong restaurant. Not true. Kabab Palace is in the same strip mall as Sushimono & Rubios. This was my experience.

I wish I could give ZERO stars! Horrible service. Only one table of people in the restaurant and our table of two. We sat for 15 minutes without any acknowledgement, water, or a hello-be with you in a minute. Perhaps, they didn’t want to serve an American.

Let’s start this review off with the positive. The food here is great. Ordered the chicken kabob and everything about it was delicious. The 5 chicken cubes are white meat and has spices all over them. They weren’t dry but if you think they are, they do give you a sauce that you can dip it in. It came with rice and a salad on the side. The negative about Kabob Palace is the service. It seems like this restaurant is family owned and there was only one lady that did both cashiering and serving. She gave us a little attitude when we asked for yogurt to go with out meal. They have a good size seating area but not many tables were occupied when I went. Due to average service I think ordering the food for pick up is the way to go here. 3.5 stars for Kabob Palace.

First time to try Afghan Kabob dishes. We tried their combination kabobs so we can try different kinds. Pretty good meat. Not oily. Simple taste so it doesn’t get overwhelming on the palate. We liked the rice and the Bolani, too. Customer service was good, too. Salad were served fresh.

I always enjoy a meal at Kabob Palace! The setup is a little different. You walk in to a check out area and the dining room is to your left. When we arrived we waited for a little while at the register before Omar came out and told us we could pick any seat in the dining area and he would be right over with menus. The dining area is decorated quite immaculately. Each table is decorated with luxurios table clothes and large candelabra centerpieces. It all looks really fancy. The décor makes it fit for any occasion really, family night out, bringing your hubby on a date, meeting some friends for a meal. whatever the case may be. All the tables are big, they fit up to six or eight people. And there are a few tables against the wall for two. Since it was just two of us we picked a table and sure enough Omar was right over with those menus. Having eaten here before we know that the orders may seem pricey but they are big and filling! Freshly cooked food made with quality ingredients, and you can definitely see and taste this! We ordered a plate of Chaplee Kabob to share and it definitely was enough. The order is a huge pile of rice and two kabobs. They are thick and filling patties made of meat, spices, and herbs. Along with the meat and rice Omar brought us out some naan. We shared our meal and left full! We will definitely be back, but I do have a suggestion for Kabob Palace. A lunch menu would bring in more customers and add some variety to the menu! I don’t usually come for lunch because honestly spending $ 15 plus is a little more than I like to spend and honestly the portions are too big for lunch! Just a suggestion. Either way you’ll see me back here! Oh! And look out for their new location open now in Natomas!
