I am on a streak of receiving mediocre facials!!! :S
I booked my appointment with Sara a couple weeks beforehand and emphasized my interest in getting my pores cleaned. She conveyed she was capable of getting the job done. Even the day before my appointment I talked to her and told her I need my white/​blackheads removed and this is the main reason I am coming to her. Again, Sara reassured me and I went in the next day.
So off the bat Sara is a very nice person, no doubt. But without the proper services the niceness is umm… pointless? So she first took a look at my face and offered to do my brows, which a politely refused due to a previous horror story at another brow waxing place. So she cleansed, did some massage and put the steam on my face. So now Im laying there thinking… now finally… my pores will be clean… but to my horror she only extracted in like 5 places on my face!!! Now that I think about it she had me breathing in the steam (which made me uncomfortable) for about 15 mins for what when she barely extracted!!? So you must be thinking what did she do the whole time. She did massage some creams that were supposed to help my pores. But they did not. She mentioned to me how my blackheads are dust trapped in my pores which make my pore look bigger. However she did NOT use the extractor to expel the blackheads. She did not even take the blackheads out on my NOSE!!! She did some more massage type movements and then moisturized and we were done.
When I came home and took a look at my face 99% of my whiteheads and black heads are STILL there!!! Needless to say I am upset. I spent $ 60 for a facial massage that I was not interested in. What makes me angry is I had told her over n over again what I wanted and seems like she especially did not do that on purpose!

I have been going to Sara for several years now. And even though I do not keep up with my waxes or facials, like I’m suppose to… Sara is very understanding, professional and always answers my questions truthfully and makes sure I understand her. Her environment is very relaxed and she always makes sure you feel comfortable. The very first time I went to Sara I felt relaxed and at ease because we all know how uncomfortable it is when you have to go get waxed down south!
I have actually gone elsewhere one time because Sara was not available (my fault, last minute thing) and I have to say since then I made sure I plan ahead and scheduled early appts with her.

I love Sara. She is very professional and also quite friendly. We had great talks when I came to her two times over February and March. She handled all of my concerns regarding my skin and gave me a discount on my eyebrow shaping when I came for a back treatment and facial the second time.
The facials were very pleasant and I could tell they worked the first time because I could saw the different right away. At first, the ointments didn’t bother me. I blame it on the layers of dirt and dead skin that were there before. The second time my facial stung a little, but it wasn’t anything unbearable and only irritated me for a minute or so. By the end my face was a bit red, but it cleared up by the next day.
Her back treatment was able to clear up my outbreaks for a month. I wish I lived in the area so I could come back for more of them. Alas, I was simply visiting from the Midwest and won’t be able to get anymore until I return for a visit. But I fully intend to not waste my money on overpriced salons here and to save up and splurge on round three.
My eyebrow sculpting was OK, but honestly wasn’t the best job I’ve had. My brows were made a bit too thin and lost their arch. Also, a bunch of hairs were left behind even though she cleaned up a bit with tweezers after the pull. Considering the price, it wasn’t a big loss. I just wasn’t thoroughly impressed. So I don’t plan on getting the eyebrows done here again, but I am for sure going to let Sara help me with all of my skin treatments.
One of the little extras that makes the experience so pleasant is the mini scalp, neck and shoulder massage. I kind of get freaked out a little by being touched and tend to stiffen up, but she put me at ease. There was one technique she did where she rested her hands on my forehead and I was thinking to myself, «What the he… hey, whoa. That’s relaxing.» I could have fallen asleep right on the table.
Facial and back treatments = 5 stars
Eye brow sculpting and clean = 2 stars
Customer service and price = 5 stars

I visited Sara for the first time today for a facial. The experience was fantastic. Sara really made me feel comfortable and she explained to me each process before she started.
My skin feels great and it’s been a while since I’ve really had a facial! A long, long while. The massages she gave from the shoulder up were awesome. It was a great 1 hour of just getting pampered.
For the price that she charges, no one can beat her in Elk Grove/​Sacto.

I’ve been to a handful of estheticians for Brazilian waxes in a lot of different big cities, but the results I get with Sara are by far the best. She’s a perfectionist and it shows in the end result. Not only that, she’s super funny and makes you feel welcome. She also always remembers what’s going on in your life if you want to chat at your next visit! I stopped going to Sacramento salons, they are just overpriced and mediocre.

She’s still a sweetheart, etc. etc. etc… Personally, I’m just not a talker. Sara’s good about keeping up with you and things you spoke about and I rather not. Work-​wise, the brazilians I was receiving weren’t consistent and I found that I prefer sugar over wax.
With that said, I no longer go to Sara.

I loved how Sarah did my brows. Although I do get them done after, they tend to get pretty unruly and I end up hating the shape it turns into. She consulted with me, asked for my opinion and did her thing. It turned out wonderful! I’m loving it!
I had told her over the phone that I was considering either a facial or microdermabraison. Although the microdermabrasion is more expensive, she told me that she’d rather not give me one now because of the condition my skin was in right now. She said she would rather I get a facial and spend the rest of the money on products to help my skin. I know of places that would just suggest the more expensive services, even if it isn’t the most suitable for you. The facial was good. She used a good amount of products and was constantly working on me (either on my face or massaging me).
The only two possible things I could point out would be that I could still squeeze out a bit of white stuff from a few of my pores on my nose (what’s that called anyway)? But the same applies to any other facial place I’ve been to before. And there was a little bit of unwanted hair remaining after the lip & brow wax. But the brow looks too good for me to complain.
We had plenty to talk about and she was consistently feeding me with useful information about my skin and skin/​hormones/​products in general. It was all very helpful. The place had a really cute and calming atmosphere as well. I’ll definitely be coming back when I’m in the area!
