I have curly hair and have been searching for the past year for a stylist who understands curls and knows how to cut them well. I had my first cut with Kristen at Kolorbox and I am so happy I found her! At first I was a little skeptical when I walked in and saw that she doesn’t have curly hair, but after a few minutes in the chair I was assured by her obvious knowledge of how to handle my curls(btw, her hair was cute, just not curly). She was friendly, easy to talk to, and never made me feel like she was in a hurry to finish up. She suggested a few Diva Curl products that would help manage my hair, which she used in my appointment to show me, but never once came across as a pushy salesperson. I actually didn’t buy anything, and was not made to feel awkward about it at all(I have since decided I’d like to try one of the products and will definitely give her my business the next time I buy it). My hair was still a bit wet when I left the salon and I wasn’t sure if the cut was exactly what I had asked for, but once I got home and it had dried, I realized that it was perfect! I have a feeling that it’s going to look awesome even as it grows out over the next couple of months, when I will most definitely be returning to Kristen for my next cut! And to top it off, my cut was very affordable compared to other salons, at $ 50.

Kristen is the best colorist I have found in 20 years. Her product lasts and she really cares about how you feel with the color. I have stubborn grey’s and they go away. Nothing makes me happier than going in with grey crunchy hair and walking out with silky dark brown roots. And a plus is that she treats all her customers like family. She cares and ask questions, and is genuinely concerned. In this day and age of technology, the art of conversation is difficult and Kristen is a master of listening and being your modern day therapist.

While searching for a new salon, I found Kristen on Unilocal.I have curly hair but had never heard of a Deva Cut. I prefer wearing my hair straight but curly is much easier, I just never liked the way it looked. Well after spending an hour with Kristen, I LOVE my curly hair. She gave me so many at home remedies as well as styling tips. She suggested Curly Girl products but didn’t push them on me. And Kristen is so friendly and personable. I have found a new home! Thank you Kristen! Oh yeah, for those who don’t have curly hair, Kristen doesn’t either and her cut is suoer cute so I’m sure you’d be happy too.

Kristen is awesome! She is very knowledgable and experienced with the Deva Curl product line and the Deva Cut! Prior to finally deciding to get this cut, I bought the Deva Curl products and fell in love! I figured after reading all the reviews and watching all of the review videos, I might as well give the cut a try. I am so glad I did! I found Kristen on the My Deva Curl website, along with a bunch of other stylists at salons and read reviews on them all. I was a little hesitant deciding to go for the cheapest($ 50) haircut with only 3 Unilocal reviews, instead of the expensive($ 100+) haircut with more reviews. However, the 3 reviews were«deva cut» reviews, while the other salons had no reviews for the deva cut. I liked that I didn’t feel rushed during my service. Kristen asked me what I wanted, she have me her opinions, and worked what she knew was best and what I wanted together! I didn’t want to loose a lot of length, so I didn’t, I pretty much got a nice trim that gave life and symmetry to my curls. Back story: prior to the deva cut, I used to get wet and combed out straight haircuts. I would get long layers for volume purposes. It would look awesome straight, but when curly, it had it’s great days, and it’s eh days. I didn’t notice it looked so eh(bad cutish) from the back when it was curly. The reason for that is, the front/top of my hair curls more than the underneath. So then it looks in even. I was very hesitant about this style of cut, but I am very glad I got it. My hair looks healthier and symmetric. I highly recommend Kristen for the Deva Cut! I will be going back! My tip: Make an appointment in advance, because she is always booked(which says a lot)

About Kristen: She is lovely, so welcoming, easy to talk to, talented, knowledgeable and she rocks as a hairdresser. Kristen gave my wayward curly curls«organization.» Her word for snipping curl by curl in all the right places to bring my hair back to life and making my curls worth boasting about. Thank you Kristen for giving me the best haircut I have ever had. No rushing, no «cut and paste» cutting, no product pushing, no salon drama… just the best cut ever with an incredibly talented and delightful hair stylist. Get your curls to Kristen, she’s an expert who will help you embrace and enjoy each ringlet. She’s amazing… my hair looks amazing!

I have unruly hair. It’s a mess. It’s tangled. I hate brushing it and, even worse I won’t take the trouble to style that bundle of waves. This isn’t a job for just anyone. It takes a brave, experienced and talented stylist. This job requires Kristen @ Kolorbox. Kristen is a trained Curly Girl stylist. She cuts my hair so it looks great after each and every wash — each curl perfectly positioned. AND she’s a color specialist so those waves are shiny and highlighted just so. I’m a lucky girl that she’s a Curly Girl specialist. Good bye forever to over-priced salons that don’t know curly hair. I’m taking all the compliments I receive in the name of Kristen’s work and sending them out in the universe to convince you to call this woman!

Since starting my CG method last month(April) I thought it would be good to get a haircut since I have not had one in about 8 months. I heard about the Devacut and was interested in finding a salon that offered that. I went to and found Kristen. I called her up and she was super sweet. I set up an appointment with her. The best thing about her is that her haircut was $ 50 bucks! I’ve heard that DEVACHAN can cost up to $ 150! I was super excited to try her out since I have had very bad luck with hair stylist cutting curly hair. When a salon tells me that«all our stylist are certified to cut curl hair» I hang up because that is a load of crap. I digress, I thought Kristen’s set up was so interesting and intimate. She works in a building that is salon suits. Something I have never heard of. So it is just her in her own space. Which I loved because it was so intimate and did not feel busy or rushed. I came in and Kristen has a very warm and easy talk to personality. She cut my hair and I loved it, I do however, want to do more layers next times, but since it was my first time I wanted to get a feel for the cut. I am actually going back tomorrow to get my hair highlighted and am super excited. I cannot praise Kristen enough. She is my new go to stylist. The only thing is that she sell Deva Curl, I wish she sold some other curl girl products. I don’t like sticking to one line. I will give Arch Angel a try though!
