This pains me. Firehouse has and will always be my favorite sandwich shop, but this location is abhorrent. The slowest service in existence, staff that is indifferent about customer service, and they messed up a friend’a order TWICE. My sandwich was constructed poorly, lettuce strewn about, meat poorly placed, off to one side. If I wanted to make my own sandwich, I could stay at home and save $ 7. I really hope this location improves to not bring down the good reputation Firehouse is known for.

Verrrrrry disappointed! I remember when the subs here used to be hot, moist and full of cheese! Come in tonight, hardly any cheese, bread is dry, toppings just kinda thrown on… good thing I had water to be able to swallow it. There is one bright side, the brownies are good! The place was also dirty… people’s kids were running around like banshees. It was just madness. Firehouse, you used to be good… used to. I’m done.

Horrible service. Workers are slow, unfriendly, order was incorrect. WOW won’t be coming back.

First time visitor and not impressed. I think the prices are very high for what you get. I had the hook & ladder and it definitely looked nothing like the picture. It was mostly bread and that had no flavor and wasn’t even toasted. The meat looked like it was ground up lunch meat that was heated through. For some reason it tasted very sweet too. We came in on a Sunday evening and no one else was eating in the store and only one other person was there waiting. We still waited for our order almost 20 minutes. Not completely horrible as my husband liked his and my daughter liked the chili. Just not somewhere I’d choose again.

Holy crap has this place gone downhill on a icy road with cut brakelines. I don’t usually review national or even widely accessible regional food chains — I feel like these sorts of brands are well enough known quantities that folks should know what to expect when they walk thru the door. It takes a real outlier for me to review. This place is just that bad. They’ve gone from being staffed to the gills with folks who seemed to operate with a sense of urgency and importance(at least as recently as very early May) to a team of uniformly very young people who are just effing befuddled to be presented with customer expectations. For example: I expect that after 40 minutes of waiting for a sandwich, post-order(in a restaurant with only one other group – 3 individuals – present and literally no take-away orders served), I am not going to be expected to accept a sandwich that was served to another customer more than five minutes before staff even figured out they’d already served it to the wrong person, subsequently ASKFORITBACK, RETRIEVEIT, try to hand it to me to eat, and get all offended that I was horrified rather than grateful. Absolutely un-effing-believable.(Note: I’m not talking about an item packaged for takeaway, or even wrapped up in any way, shape, or form. Open, touched, condiments-opened-and-added, picked-off, completely not ok to serve to another person — type sandwich.) As a result, I have absolutely no reason to believe **anyone** in this place has taken a safe food handling class, let alone that they have a quarter dose of common sense /sanity. Guess I’m just hoping that they’ve had TB tests, etc. and wash their hands regularly, before they cross contaminate, and after they use the restroom. Service & management is apparently unbelievably incompetent. For X-sake, use order numbers or names(especially if staff can’t even parse – only – two different sets of orders in 45 minutes) — these folks weren’t. It’s not like safe processes require re-creating the wheel, Einstein. Fer real, Firehouse — lots of folks were hoping you wouldn’t suck and could keep afloat, business-wise. But now, we’re just hoping you didn’t already give us hepatitis or another big ugly. (And no, I don’t care for Subway’s yoga mat plasticizer-flavored sandwiches, either. I’m not the one trying to put you out of business; the folks you’ve hired are, though.)

Went there a few weeks after it opened. We did get the«greet», but who cares at a quick service restaurant. It’s never a factor in choosing a restaurant whether a staff member yells at the top of lungs, «welcome to our restaurant», with the feigned enthusiasm of someone seeing a long lost cousin. It’s annoying most of the time. It was very crowded with a long line, mostly because they take forever to make your sandwich. People were either in line to order or sitting around waiting for their sandwiches, I’m sure someone was eating a sandwich but I didn’t see anyone in my vicinity. We waited 30 minutes for our sandwiches. The design of their ordering process was a bit confusing, they gave me an order number but I didn’t know if I was suppose to pick it up or someone was going to bring it to our table. On top of that, the pick up area is right in the middle of the order line and so there were people breathing, sneezing on sandwiches that were waiting to be picked up. Kinda gross. The sandwiches were just okay, Quiznos and Penn station make a better toasted sandwich, and definitely not worth the price. The staff tried their best but seemed overwhelmed. They are the antithesis of Jimmy Johns, which is crazy that we don’t have one in Etown.

Very disappointed! I eat at firehouse subs a lot but this one has gone downhill fast. In the last two visits I have been disappointed with the service. We were not greeted on both occasions the food came out slow and cold sandwiches. They do not give military discounts and there wifi is not for use for customers. There employees were standing around shooting the bull while tables were dirty. Customers service was terrible. The food was just alright.

This was a really cool place. The subs was great and there was so many drink choices to chose from which was awesome. The staff was nice and fast I enjoyed it wish they had fries instead of chips little to much like subway. Prices was a little high but not bad for what u get I will go back for sure

I’m not sure exactly what kind of restaurant this is. I mean it’s clearly a sandwich shop with a firefighter theme for the people who created it. But don’t be fooled. This is no Subway. It’s almost like a restaurant in that items on the menu are pre-set along with their prices, which means you don’t get to custom make your own orders. But the food they have is hot and delicious! It is on the expensive side, which is probably the thing I’m most dissatisfied about. A friend took me to the location in Elizabethtown because this one had opened just four weeks prior, and he had thought the ones in Texas were good. Well, it looks like more than just a couple of people shared that view, because the place was quite full of people while we were there. Most of the tables were already occupied, and still there was a huge line. I got a free medium drink with my order due to my military status, which is nice. They took my name and gave me the receipt. I had to wait a little longer than usual for the subs to be made, but it’s at least somewhat understandable seeing as how the place was so crowded. I imagine that they make their orders much like how they do it at Charley’s Grilled Subs, so this is no fast food restaurant. I got two sandwiches: a Smokehouse Beef & Cheddar Brisket and a Capt. Sorensen’s Datil Pepper Grilled Chicken. Both sandwiches were good for what they were, but I was highly disappointed in the size of the latter. They were both more than six dollars each, but still not enough to fill me up! I’m going to give them an overall good review, though. Their food tasted great, but they could still work a little on the execution.

For a place that’s just opened, this location has its act together. Even with lines going almost out the door, the staff has been accommodating, efficient, and most importantly, friendly. The food is great, maybe a little on the high side for the cookies/brownies. I will definitely be coming back.

The place is very friendly. The subs were good and the selection of hot sauces were awsome. As a fire fighter I was very Suprised to get a free drink with my sub. I will be going back and tell others.

Great concept for subs! FRESH ingredients. They actually slice the meat right there… no need to go to New Jersey for this meat! The bread is great it seems like it’s freshly baked although it is smaller than the«other» sub place but they make up for it in the meat, cheese & veggie department. They have good size salads as well as chunky style chicken salad and tuna salad. Their«sides» are a bit disappointing, they are same chips, chili, cookies and brownie thing. I would like to see something different for a change. They do have catering so for your next big event, look them up! The biggest thing I like about them is you can donate your change or give $ 2 to help our firemen & women get the vital equipment they need to save our lives. So if you are looking for a new charity to use for your taxes… keep your receipts!

First visit was super friendly, I purchased a hook and ladder and meatball sub combo to go. Similar to other toasted sub places you order all your sub«extras» when you make your order. The food is well packaged and they provided plenty of napkins. The food itself was quite delicious and we will definitely go back.
