I love the atmosphere here. Everyone is always friendly. The baked goods are made in house and the specialty coffee drinks that I’ve tried are way better than any big coffee chain that shall remain nameless. The food is just okay, but I don’t come here for the food anyways so I still give it 5 stars(it is The COFFEE Co. after all). Give it a try!

I was very impressed with how busy they were. For Elizabethton, it really surprised me. However, men’s room in the kitchen and a 35 minute wait for a cold chicken wrap did not impress me. Wrap was huge but all lettuce. Had a hard time finding the chicken. Waiter was good.

What a pleasant surprise! I get up to Elizabethton a couple of times a year to visit the parents, and I always enjoy wandering down Elk Street on a sunny afternoon, popping into a shop here and there. I used to enjoy stopping in at The Bonnie Kate for lunch, but now that they’re closed I had to look for another downtown lunch option … … and I found it at The Coffee Company! I’d passed by many times but it never occurred to me that they may offer more than just coffee and baked goods. Now, it’s nothing fancy(and I mean that in a good way). It’s in an old building with creaky wood floors and a lot of character. The tables and chairs are all these big heavy wooden pieces, and you’ll see antique signs and knick-knacks here and there. We found a table in the big back room near the kitchen then ordered a couple of salads. I had the Greek Salad with grilled chicken, Ma had the Chicken Tenders Salad. Both salads were enormous and tasty. My chicken was nicely seasoned and grilled, and I loved the creamy feta dressing. I wish I could have taken a bottle of that home with me! Ma had nothing but praise for her salad and chicken too. The service was also excellent, and I thought the prices were very reasonable. I’m so glad that we finally stopped in. Now I’m gonna make –this– my spot for lunch when I’m downtown!

Stopped by here on a motorcycle ride into the High Country. It was amazing. My girlfriend had an Iced Chai and said it was better than Starbucks!(That means a lot coming from her) The service was great. We had the Egg Salad Sandwich and Pasta Salad. I have to say it was the best pasta salad I have ever tasted! To set the atmosphere just right the car show was going on as well. Perfect Place!

Wonderful experience. My number one pick for coffee. My favorite Latte ever– Starbucks is second best. They roast their own coffee and provide coffee for several restaurants, bed & breakfasts, and hotels. The service is always well above average(based on 6 visits in the last six months). Sandwiches , salads, and fruit plates are all delicious — they use only the freshest ingredients. My highest recommendation and the best place for lunch in the Tri-Cities area!

Great coffee place in Elizabethton, they seem to be always busy. They have quite a few tables and it’s pretty roomy and relaxing. Food was great, I had a smoked salmon salad, and it was fresh and delicious. Coffee was good, and the staff were very nice

Cute little place I’d been meaning to check out for a while. I was seated immediately and my drink order was taken. The menu for lunch was varied enough for my tastes; I chose to try the hummus appetizer and the sandwich similar to a chicken gyro(I can’t recall the name right now). Great food, good service. Will visit again.

I have dined in at The Coffee Company and used them to cater large picnics for more than 70 guests. The food and friendly service are the best! From the pasta salad to dessert and coffee everything is so tasty that it is hard to choose what to order.

Quaint little place. They have an excellent menu with plenty of wholesome and healthy options. Not to mention delicious pastries baked daily — not that I had room to eat an entire piece of Lemon Pie by myself. Coffee selection is decent — not the best I’ve come across. The best thing(besides the light food) is definitely the atmosphere. It’s everything you think when you think of an oldsy downtown coffee and bistro.

Great atmosphere! I love the peanut brittle latte and the Club sandwich is delicious. I get the combo meal with chicken tortilla soup or broccoli cheese soup and half a club sandwich :-)

No comfy chairs to sit and read or do work. The lady working told me that I could«borrow» the neighbors wifi as they don’t have any.

I had high hopes based on the reviews but I went in on a quiet Saturday morning and had to wait 5 minutes to be helped, which was puzzling as there were 3 people working but they had to all finish preparing drinks before they moved on to the next person — definitely not the efficient model of a good coffeeshop. I tried ordering a green tea, but they didn’t have any — how does a large coffeeshop not have green tea? But she said they had Green Tea Chai, so I tried that. I SHOULD have tasted it before I left the premises, but I didn’t want to burn my tongue and drove off. When it cooled enough I took a sip and it was so disgusting I took one more sip to verify it really tasted like fake chemicals and tossed it. It was a $ 5.68! drink that got tossed. So poor quality, poor value and poor selection with Mediocre service. I’m not sure there will be a next time, but if there is, order coffee.

The Coffee Company is one of my favorite places around Elizabethton, TN. I recently moved to the area and was disappointed that the closest Starbucks was about 20 miles away. I was very wrong to be so disappointed. The atmosphere and friendly service at the Coffee Company were worth much more than the overpriced coffee I would have purchased at Starbucks. The coffee is excellent here. I haven’t tried many of the espresso drinks, but my husband says the hot chocolate is amazing. The desserts are wonderful and from what I understand, handmade every day in store. The Coffee Company has been a great place to study, a great place to take family, and a great place to have a lunch meeting. I even bought my mother a handmade mug with an Elizabethton pendant on it for Christmas from there. The breakfasts and lunches that I have eaten here have always been great and filling. My toddler love the pasta salad. My only disappointment has been that they close at 5pm and stop serving food at 3pm or so and only serve dessert and coffees. I was excited to see last summer that they opened until 8pm on Saturdays during the car show and had live music and coffee for us coffee addicts walking around looking at the cars. The Coffee Company is a great place and I recommend it to anyone looking for a great lunch spot or coffee shop.

The Coffee Company is a good example of why we should band together to boycott places like Starbucks. Main Street coffee houses are SO much better than corporate coffee and snacks and do a lot more for the local economy. The Coffee Company is located in a converted men’s clothing store. They’ve recycled most of the original wooden display cabinets into their displays, which adds nicely to the ambiance. Tables are spread far apart so you can dine in comfort. The only thing missing was some comfy couches(like my favorite coffee shop back home has.) They have lots of coffee related merchandise and homemade baked goods for sale as well. I got an amazing handmade glazed pottery coffee mug for 17 bucks that fits perfectly in my hand. Every one is different, with different shapes, handle sizes and left/right orientations. There’s a comfortable mug for everyone. Neato. As for the food and coffee: I got the Costa Rican coffee which put a few strands of hair on my chest. My three year old coffee addict loved it. It was fresh, but it was so strong I had to put more cream in it than is healthy. Mom’s coffee was of the regular variety and didn’t require so much cream. Should’ve gone for that instead. The kids ordred homemade lemonade which was lovely; i ended up drinking it since the little monster stole my coffee. Several people in my party got ruebens which they enjoyed, but I though looked a little on the small side. Mom, on the other hand, got a sandwich wrap which was so obscenely large watching her eat it was borderline pornographic. Marley got a salad with fresh ripe strawberries, feta and almonds which was very good. I ordered the special of the day which was a generous slice of ham and broccoli quiche which was yummo, with a very large side salad of baby greens, cherry tomatoes and bacos. good stuff. Got three kinds of scones to take home. They were pretty good, but not as good as my place back home. Peach, cranberry and blueberry. Kids loved the blueberry. My peach scone was a little doughy in the center, but the crusty parts were very yummy. I should have tried some of their other baked goods because they looked really good. All in all, good service, clean, convenient parking in the rear or street parking out front. Wheelchair accessible from the front of the store. The rear entrance has a flight of stairs which people with limited mobility may find challenging.
