I tried this buffet last Friday night, which is the night they serve prime rib, and for a prime price, namely 34.99. The prime rib was anything but prime, it was tough, and had too much gristle in it, it clearly was not prime rib. Low grade chuck steak maybe, but not prime rib and not worth 34.99. Few of the other offerings where that good, and especially not for the price, and some of the desserts(which where the best of what they had) were decent. Overall, a huge disappointment, especially for the price. Golden Corral, at about 10 – 12 bucks, is much better. Overall, a huge disappointment.

Have been here several times recently. Typical casino/resort buffet. Lots to choose from. Some great, some good, some just ok and some bad. Salad bar good, but could use a little more variety in ingredients. Fried chicken is usually great. Veggies hit or miss. Same for carving station, but usually more good than bad. Huge selection of desserts, with again, more hits than misses. But the star of the show is the made to order station. During the week you can get hot browns, philly cheesesteaks, quesadillas, rubens and hamburgers all made to order. On the weekends this becomes a breakfast station with made to order omelettes, french toast, pancakes and crepes. The french toast is some of the best I have ever had and the pancakes are about the size of small hubcaps. This place is expensive if you are paying, but it is pretty good. If you find something you don’t like just set it aside and go get something else.

After reading the previous two reviews on this place, I was pretty excited to try it out, for a friend’s birthday. Usually, I enjoy buffets and the mass quantities of food that they have, to offer. While this buffet DOES have an enormous amount of different foods to try from, I can’t say that I was overly impressed with the quality, for the price($ 22 per person). They had everything from sushi(which was lukewarm and not that great) to soul food(which was pretty decent, especially the mashed potatoes and greens) and they had a plethora of salads and pasta type foods(which were so-so, at best). The one, true, saving grace for Spread, however, is the absolutely amazing dessert bar! Cheesecakes, bread pudding with bourbon sauce, cakes, cookies, bananas foster– made to order… these were all amazing! I can honestly say that I would probably go back, if only for some more desserts! If you happen to be at Horseshoe Casino, go ahead and stop in at The Spread, but I don’t think I would recommend making the trip, solely for the restaurant.

The buffet is AMAZING, probably what anyone would imagine a casino buffet would look like. Complete bars with salad and a variety of topping. Comfort foods: casseroles, coleslaw, soup, mashed potatoes, ethnic food: sushi, garlic chicken, lo mein, turkey and beef cuts. The dessert bar is even more amazing. Berry mixed cake with whipped cream in glasses, pies, cheesecakes, etc. AMAZING! Now that you read that last review, I went back there when I was actually able to spend a few nights at the casino/hotel as well. What I found out was that they tack on gratuity with the buffet price. Makes for a very expensive experience this time around. I was grateful; however, when my friend had helped me get half price for the buffet. Being the generous person I was, I gave them $ 4 tip because I did not know they all ready had tacked on gratuity. –_– Edit: Nevermind. The teller actually fixed it. She charged me $ 4.00, which included the $ 3.00. I will throw in a 4th star.

So I was given the opportunity to try this place on the house. Two free buffets so I took my sister. I love buffets to begin with but this one is outstanding. I couldn’t believe how extensive the variety! Anything from salad to taco to pizza… it’s all there and all very tasty. I will say. some things that sat out for a while were not that great like the catfish. but I can imagine if they had been fresh they would have hit the spot, so try to pick whats fresh. Anyway, if you love buffets also you will be pleased.
