Bought our first and last Christmas tree from them. By the website, this place sounded awesome. Different story when we got there. Tree looked ok, but when it got loaded, guy told us they had been cut for 2 weeks already. We’ve had it 2 weeks and it is sucking up water, but it won’t have any needles on it come Christmas morning. Overpriced and not good fresh trees.

Kelly went way out of her way to help me pick out crabapple trees to replace my 60+ yr old trees that I had to cut down(found out their are about 80 different species… so, you have to do your home work!). As busy as Kelly was(especially, with spring quickly approaching) she came through in getting me beautiful trees)… She also helped me get them delivered and planted, as I live in Denver.

So it took me quite a while to come check these guys out because they’re about an hour from my house and man I should have gone before. Here is why I really like Holly Acres: 1. Price: The prices on their plants are similar to Home Depot, but much better quality. I paid $ 9 each for #1 currants, gooseberries, grapes and nanking cherry. At most garden centers they are roughly double the price and HD doesn’t even carry them. Besides raspberries, blackberries and blueberries HD doesn’t sell any small fruit usually. 2. Service: I got quick, friendly service. The lady that was helping me out was very knowledgeable about local growing conditions and cross pollinators where as many places really have no idea what they are selling. 3. Selection: My favorite part about this place! It is REALLY hard to find fruit and/or xeriscape plants at most garden centers and damn near impossible to find anything of real interest at the big box stores. *** Minus one star because the location is poor! *** And a side note; No one guarantees their plants except Home Depot and Lowes, but that is because they have an UNBELIEVABLE failure rate and they know their plants are garbage and that you’ll lose your receipt within a year anyway…

I’ve been buying plants for several years at Holly Acres. This spring I decided to take the plunge and buy their ‘instant orchard’. Although all of the bare root trees were treated the same one of them did not leaf out and is dying. When I called to ask about a replacement all that I got was a lecture that I was taking the same risk as the nursery, the weather was terrible this spring, they sell these very cheaply, and people tried to bring back trees that they hadn’t even sold. I have my receipt, the nursery tag, the tree and my order number but that doesn’t mean a thing as they do NOT guarantee their bare root stock. This is just a warning to others as they do not stand behind the product they sell.
