We had fun at this Second most happening, Cool Shop in the Off-​Season of Downtown Elizabeth City! It was nice noticing all the people who order like I do… I did not know I was doing it right! EVER!!! Describing what you like, then asking the Barista to Create a Concoction based on a barely intelligible idea scantily pried from a beautiful mind! To: Santana: Thanks for the Review!

Came here with my hubby for first time. Outside is nothing to brag about but inside has a slight mountain vibe. Workers were friendly and inviting. My macchiato was made perfect, so perfect I hated to drink it. First time I ever had someone make me a kitty. See pic!!!

Been here a few times and it was always just an okay experience. Today, however, was not okay at all. I hardly ever write Unilocal reviews, but this experience deserved one. Maybe you’ll just think I’m being a coffee snob, but for the prices they charge I expect a quality drink.
Ordered a hot flavored latte and an iced macchiato. The biggest thing that will make me spend my coffee money elsewhere from now on was watching the dude use old shots that had been sitting at the machine for who knows how long. He definitely didn’t pull fresh shots for our drinks which is disgusting because the shot will turn bitter and rancid if it sits for longer than a few seconds without being mixed with something. Gross.
The rest of the mistakes he made were technical but also just plain unsanitary. He served us an iced latte instead of the hot one we ordered. He used the same stir stick for both the drinks and then poured both of them into the same shaker/​mixer one after the other without rinsing it in between, which basically just combined the two very different drink flavors. And yes, he mixed what was supposed to be a macchiato so it was instead just a latte with a combination of flavors from the other drink and old, rancid, shitty espresso.
There is so much hype about Muddy’s and I am all about giving my money to local businesses, but if I’d just gone to Starbucks I would’ve not only spent less, but also at least gotten freshly pulled shots.
Very disappointed. Will go to Starbucks from now on or make the drive to Moyock to go to Green Beanie. At least I know they use fresh espresso for every drink, don’t use contaminated mixing instruments and they serve quality (less expensive) drinks every time.

Quaint little coffee house in the middle of old town Elizabeth City. Nice ambiance, plenty of cozy seating.
Good place to just take a break and relax for a while. No rush on you finishing your beverage.
They have a book shelf stocked with books incase you want to read or a few games, Boggle, cards etc to enjoy.
I had the Almond Joy iced latte and it tasted just like its candy bar equivalent. I was going to have dessert later but now I think I’m done. The iced coffees were in no way bitter.
If visiting Elizabeth City again I would definitely stop by to try another of their flavors. Caramel, White zombie and Peppermint Patty are just a few from the board.
There was a small selection of pastries in the case, but nothing was jumping out screaming eat me. It would be great if they had some brownies and cupcakes available. They did have chocolate chip cookies, but they were wrapped in plastic and did not look all that appealing.
I might have given this place a 5 if the pastry selection had been better and some what of a better presentation in the baked goods case.

Old gas station turned into a coffee house! How original! Only if they had more locations. This is a must go to when driving by or going to Elizabeth City, NC. Too be honest I think it beats Starbucks and that right there is definitely a huge hit. Try this place out!

Another gem in Elizabeth City. a favorite for locals and visitors of all ages. The aroma of the on premise roasted coffee beans beckons you to taste their java. Generous servings of delicious blends of coffee prepared by very accommodating baristas. Tasty homemade desserts and ice cream sandwiches completes the the experience while relaxing in their WiFi lounge.

Quality coffee! Kind of pricey, but I think that is to be expected out of any specialty coffee shop. They have a wide variety of drinks on the menu but the skilled baristas can also make any drink to order. I have visited there for years and have never once been dissatisfied with my order!

First thing I am doing when I make my way across the NC border from VA is stopping by Muddy Waters. We just dont have a local coffee house anywhere in Hampton Roads that is special like this.

This coffee house would give even one of the best, hipster coffee houses in New York City a serious run for their money. Bravo. ⁵⁄₅ Easily.

Was just there. I love this place! The employees are always awesome and extremely helpful and they have great coffee. I’ve been meaning to review this place for awhile now but never got around to it. It’s definitely a local gem and has a great atmosphere! The only warning I have is that if you’re sensitive to caffeine beware because their coffee is not weak. Even the chai syrup they use has a kick to it. Can’t say enough good things about this place

This is a longstanding Coffeehouse in Elizabeth City, NC I have been going to it for years and now I get to write about it. First of all it is always changing… the interior, and menu, and vibe. But keeps this beautiful smalltown charm that I know and love. Othertime I have tried all of their teas and coffees my two favorites being the liquid brownie and the Almond Joy: D

Looooove the barista. Nice little sitting place, but great espresso. Picked up a macchiato (traditional Italian style) and some locally roasted beans for later.

Two words: Crow Bar!
This mocha flavored nirvana has helped me through many mornings after a sleepless or rough night. Usually it is chocolate syrup with a couple of shots of expresso and steamed milk. I add whipped cream because, hey, what’s a mocha coffee without whipped cream?

Great community coffee café. Sit enjoy and use wifi. A must stop for the afternoon caffeine fix…

Driving to OBX after a late night of packing and an early morning of checking my packing — I needed some ice coffee immediately (I may or may not have also been having a Nancy Botwin moment… ok, I was). I pulled up my Unilocal app and it took me to this little gem.
Upon walking in, we were politely greeted and our order was taken. The coffee was delicious and I really enjoyed the few minutes we spent inside. My date got some cranberry bread which was pretty delicious. I am hopeful that on our way to OBX this summer I’ll be in need of some coffee and will have to stop in Elizabeth City! Bonus: super cool old hotel across the street to photograph!

Nice environment with good places to just sit down and drink coffee and read. Music is good and kept to a good background volume. Nice local hangout filled with friendly people. The Batista’s have a decent enough coffee knowledge an are friendly enough.
The coffee is alright. Not fantastic, but it is still has a good flavor to it. It is worth a visit.

This is THE spot in Elizabeth City for your cup o’ joe!
They’ve got something for everyone– from strong brews for the coffee purists, to blended drinks for those who like their coffee to be more like desserts. They’ve even got a children’s menu AND you can bring your pup!
There’s plenty of tables, comfy leather couches, free wifi, and lots of magazines if you’d like to stick around. I recommend grabbing one of the coupon booklets from the middle table; since there are only about 10 restaurants in all of E-​City, you’ll be sure to find at least one useful coupon in it!
If you’re in town, skip Starbucks and support this local beanery!
