The worst pizza I have ever eaten. The toppings were a joke, the bacon had about 10 little pieces of bacon on it, sauce tasted like wartered down ketchup. The pepperoni was also a joke, very little on it, the sauce tasted the same, watered down ketchup. Never again

I’m standing in Papas pizza right now watching them make our food. I have watched many of them just talk and go out and smoke and go out and do whatever and come back in and not wash their hands. Can we say nasty! Ick! Also they don’t wear gloves. Had the food not tasted so good, I may have left two or a one star. But I’m giving it a three star. The pizza tasted great the cinnamon pizza tasted great the cheese sticks were good. I am bothered that they have to have 12 employees at one time so that they can keep taking smoke breaks right out in the parking lot. I do have to say that the main dough making guy seems to be the hardest worker in there. Give him a raise!

Everyone, My own imposed rules for any Chain Restaurant review: 1. Must visit at least three times. Two of which must be distinctly different formats; i.e. one weekday night and one weekend night. 2. Since the food should be the same everywhere, with the exception of regional items, the food category will only be judged on the quality of the expected food(i.e. temperature, consistency, and amount). 3. Ratings are based on a 10 point scale with 5 being average, which does not mean bad. What a score of 5 means is that the category meets expectations for that establishments format. Thanks. Papa Johns — Elgin Location/Layout — 6⁄10: This Papa Johns is located in a small strip mall on Larkin Ave in Elgin. The store is connected to a still operational Blockbuster, which is actually a nice feature if you want to pick up a movie with your pizza. The store, like other Papa Johns, is small with a cook line, conveyor oven, an order/payment counter and small bench for waiting. Parking is ample, convenient to the store, and well kept. Service — 5.5÷10: The staff is usually fairly attentive and efficient when we pick up our order and orders are completely in a very timely manner. Their have been times when employees have been in the parking lot having heated conversations amongst themselves or on the phone but this has never been directed at patrons. Food — 4.5÷10: In full disclosure Papa Johns pizzas are not by any means our first choice in pizza, this is because we prefer non-chain thin crust pizza, but they always offer some amazing deal that like a moth to a flame we can not pass up. Additionally, there are times when we just get a taste for Papa Johns pizza, with its special garlic dipping sauce and peperoncinis. The pizzas at this location are prepared well, to the Papa Johns standard, but we have had a couple of instances where the pizzas were grossly undercooked and the dough was essentially raw. After contacting them they are always will to correct the situation and make a new pizza but there is still the inconvenience of having to return for a correct and edible pizza. Overall Experience — 5⁄10: If you are a fan of Papa Johns or if you are looking for great deals and/or a massive amount of pizza at a fair price you will find this location to your satisfaction. Additionally, if you still like the ability to «shop» for your rentals instead of having to stand at a kiosk in a grocery store while ten kids hover in front of you selecting the movies they want from the pictures, this location should greatly appeal to you.
