First visit tonight. We ate in and did their 2 for $ 20 deal. We had wonton soup, veggie friend rice, sesame chicken, shrimp with broccoli and egg rolls. Plus a side of crab rangoon. Portions were generous — we had leftovers. The rice had lots of large pieces of veggies. Soup was delicious and hot. Food came to our table in courses. The dining area was clean. There was a steady stream of people coming in to pick up their orders. We will definitely go back. The food wasn’t greasy or salty. We used to go to Gilberts(original owner) in Dundee. But haven’t found a good replacement. I think we found our new go to for Chinese. Another plus we live 5 minutes away!

This is my goto lunch spot when I’m craving Egg Foo Yung. It is a small storefront type«carry-out» Chinese restaurant. They do have a few booths and tables for dining in as well. Their lunch menu contains standard Chinese dishes, is reasonably priced and portions are generous. Everything seems made to order and is always hot and fresh. I’ve sampled a few other dishes as well, which were all good, but at this place I’m preferential to the Egg Foo Yung. Oh, and their Crab Rangoon and Egg Rolls are pretty tasty as well. Others have mentioned the hostess as being rude. First, I feel she is sometimes terse but polite, and secondly I don’t go to a carry-out type restaurant expecting friendly diner service. I recommend.

I really enjoy meals here. We usually take out and the portions are ample and delicious. There is another excellent Chinese restaurant near here, but this is more reasonably priced and every bit as good as any other. The proprietor and his wife are lovely people. Their two small girls can sometimes be found doing homework while mom looks on and serves customers.

Service is great here. Cashier is always friendly. The place itself is small, but vary vibrant and uplifting. Food is very good compared to most Chinese places in Elgin. Worth the visit. Also reasonably priced for the portions you get. Bubbly tea here is good.

Horrible service! Took and hour to get food. Said it would take 20 when we ordered. Food was average at best.

Everything was just average. Delivery was fast but probably would try someplace else next time in town.

Placed an online order an hour and 15 minutes ago. Just got a call it’s going to be another 45 minutes… 2 hours for delivery? Totally unacceptable.

If the taste of the Chicken Mei Fun is anything to go by, I will be enjoying this place more often. We ordered delivery at work, so I can’t speak to customer service or ambience at the restaurant, but the ingredients were fresh and well spiced. At many places the Chicken tastes like it’s been in the fridge for a few days. This chicken tasted quite fresh. My only gripe? For 3 meals we were only given one packet of mustard. Easily fixed by asking for more — if you happen to think about it while ordering. One of the reviews said they have a Korean dish, so I’m looking forward to visiting them soon.

Whoa! This place is amazing, they won me over when they said they use no msg! I haven’t had Chinese this good in a solid 10 years. I got Mongolian beef, egg drop soup, crab rangoons, and egg rolls! I can’t eat it all because I ate all of the appetizers first and they were delicious! I’ll be ordering from here for years to come. Now… back to my food coma!

Food is decent but customer service sucks. Ordered on GrubHub, 30 min after order was supposed to be delivered I called restaurant to find out my order was never processed. They offered a free entrée as compensation. Chose egg foo yung, it made my wife and I very sick. I’m not saying they tampered with it but I will never eat here again.

The food is good but the lady up front is super rude. In was waiting for my food when a second customer came in and the cashier who i assume is the owner was extremely rude with her after she purchased a huge order. Not nice.

Love this place! Now that being said, I usually order Dragon and Phoenix spicy, fried potstickers and occ crab Rangoon. All are really tasty and great! I order online and there are coupons. I haven’t had anything bad here yet, although I do tend to order and add instructions like«less sweet» more«spicy» etc. we order pick up only too. Everything is hot, fresh and generously portioned. I think it’s the best in the Elgin/South Elgin area hands down!

I really want to give them higher marks but they’ve been dropping the ball lately. Mainly because I think their food is good. Service is hit or miss. I just heard the girl say they’re out of rice??? A Chinese place out of rice? That said they told me to come get my carry out order in 30m. I showed up on and have been standing here waiting for 15m. Everything I’ve ordered here has been good but they need some help with processes. They’re like the only good Chinese place near West Elgin though… sad.

While rather slow on delivery orders, it’s worth the wait! Best beef egg foo young & vegetable fried rice I’ve ever had. Lots of fresh vegetables, tender patties. Will certainly keep ordering from there!

Hubby and I have been looking for a new go-to Chinese food place and decided to stop in at this one. It reminded me of Panda Express in terms of the way you order, however, nothing is pre-made and sitting under heat lamps(positive). I ordered the bulgogi meal with an egg roll, fried rice, and crab Rangoon. The portion was deceptively generous(I admit — I complained at first when I unloaded my plastic to-go tray). Bulgogi is not a common dish(at least it seems I don’t come across it often) and it’s definitely not fair to compare it to something homemade. It was good, but not amazing. I would have it again, though. I thought the fried rice was just ok and the egg roll horrible. If anyone knows of where to get amazing egg rolls, please let me know! I’m still on the hunt! Crab Rangoon was tasty — 4 stars. In terms of service, I thought it was just ok. Having been our first time going there, we didn’t really know how to order. The person taking our order was patient, but she didn’t go out of her way to explain anything to us. At least there wasn’t a line. Hubby would prefer not to go again, but they had such an array of choices that I’d like to try something else and maybe just not get the«meal deal» and order the entrees and a more«specialized» fried rice and sides.

The food wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t good either. I got the pepper steak and chicken fried rice. It was extremely bland. The highlight was the egg rolls. They certainly could have had more meat but other than that they were very good. The biggest issue I have with place is the delivery. It took almost 90 minutes to get my food. It was My first time ordering from here because I am new to the area. It will most likely be my last.

im honestly a snob for chinese restaurant here in Elgin coz Id rather drive to Chinatown, Schaumburg or Naperville if I really want to have good Chinese food. Little Panda is not bad at all. My work ordered some of LP food for lunch and I was very surprised. The price is a little higher than chinatown for sure but because the food was good, deducting one star wouldn’t be fair. I love their shrimp with vegetables, it’s very tasty and the sauce is delicious. I am not a fan of vegetables but this made me eat vegetables that day haha. I wish there was a lot of shrimps in it tho. There was only 6 – 8 pieces of shrimp in a large order. Not enough!!! But they were very generous with the vegetables LOL oh well. The vegetables were cooked right. I can tell when the vegetables are fresh and if it’s cooked right(im that picky with veggies). Their orange chicken is probably the only orange chicken that I would eat. Ive had orange chicken from millions of chinese restaurant(not a fan of orange chicken either, but friends/family order them most of the time), LP has the best IMHO. Their mongolian beef was good but I guess I had better. Don’t go there too early or on time when picking up your to-gos, they’re always 5−20mins late in handing your take out orders.

1 hour and 45 minutes for delivery. A call placed at 1 hour and 15 mark yielded a «it’s going to be 30 minutes, do you still want it?» response. By that time, it’s too late in the evening so yes, we still wanted it. No other apology was offered or compensation provided. Styrofoam clamshell containers, like the kind your taco dinner comes in from a Mexican restaurant. Only Chinese food has a major sauce and liquid component to it that Mexican food does not. This of course meant that all the sauces from our dishes were providing something for the paper bag to drink instead of our steamed rice. 1PINT of steamed rice for 2 large entrees. Yes, I said PINT, the small Chinese container and not the big one(a quart). Apparently the coupon for a free fried rice with certain level of purchase enables them to not provide you with the correct quantity of steamed rice you should receive with your order. We will never order from here again.

Very nicely decorated! I was really impressed by the atmosphere. Usually these«homemade» Chinese food restaurants are pretty tacky, but this place is well lit and designed. The food was great, I had the orange chicken dinner special. Everything was delicious and reasonably priced. It was a lot of food for around 8 bucks! The only downside is the amount of MSG. Yes, it is to be expected in Chinese food, but I was overwhelmed at how quickly it took over. I felt too full and heavy in a matter of minutes. I caught myself thinking«never again» and I really didn’t eat that much. Not a good choice for anyone with a wheat allergy or gluten issue! Or if you’re looking to live a healthier lifestyle. Really good food with a nice atmosphere, just make sure you know what you’re putting into your body!
