Been coming here for a while now. Chicken is moist and flavor is fantastic. A lot food for the $ — wish side portions were bigger tho since we love the beans and rice.

Can you say best bang for your… cluck?! HA I crack myself up… but seriously the grilled chicken family meal, as others have gushed, is such a good deal! And it’s really good chicken too. My daughters and I came here after doing some errands and got the 12 piece to go. My 5 year old would not stop eating it when we got home. I’m not sure if she was just that starved (what a great mom) or she had never experienced chicken cooked that well (again, such a great mom). We’ll definitely be making a return visit, even if it’s a 20 minute drive for some grilled chicken!

We carry out from this place quite often. The larger family meal includes 12 pieces of chicken, 3 sides and 2 packages of tortillas for only $ 21. Aside from the great price, the food is authentic and tasty. Chicken has great flavor and is very juicy… even the white meat! Our favorite sides are the beans and rice. (Don’t bother with the mac-​n-​cheese.) There is also a small salsa station so you can take a variety of homemade salsas.

LOVE the food here, chicken is fantastic. My boyfriend and i get the family meal for 15 dollars. 3 sides of your choice and 8 pieces of chicken, and 2 packs of tortillas. Leftover for days!

This place is awesome. We placed a large catering order for a birthday party and I was an hour late to pick up the food, so they had to sell the chicken so it wouldn’t get cold/​go to waste. No problem! They have so much of their tender and delicious chicken being cooked all the time they were able to redo the order in like 5 minutes. The chicken is served with tons of grilled onions, and the beans were very good as well.

Great whole roasted Chicken comes with your choice of three sides something like mashed potatoes or macaroni cheese or roasted onion and peppers or Mexican rice or great beans rancheros so few more choices I’m sure. and they have like 6 different types of hot Salsa! And all your orders come with corn tortillas! and when you having family over I just call and order the tray w like whatever you like 3 or 5 chicken’s and I can assure you everyone will love it! if you don’t like it something wrong with you! :) :)

The chicken is amazing! Super juicy with great as ado flavor. Only thing that is negative is the Mac n cheese, lacks flavor!!!

We were bike riding through Elgin and stopped in for lunch. The food was really good, the prices were very reasonable and the authentic atmosphere was enjoyable. If you’re in the area this is a must stop. The chicken platter and the steak tacos for our favorites.

This is an awesome little gem. My husband and I rolled the Unilocal wheel of fortune one night and found this place over the summer. We keep coming back for more! We always order the same thing… the 1 chicken family order with grilled green onions, rice, and beans. The chicken is so succulent and flavorful. I can’t even begin to describe how good it is! It comes with corn tortillas and variety of salsa from the salsa bar. This meal is plenty for 2 people with left overs for days.
The staff is friendly and service is quick. There’s always a line when we go, which means the food is amazing!
Definitely a must try if you’re in the area!

I’ve been driving past this place since they opened and I kept telling myself I would stop by to try their food especially when you see Police Officers eating there. The two times that I went there the food was delicious. Not too mention the short wait time. I ordered the half chicken with 2 sides of rice. The macaroni isn’t too bad neither. I will definitely be going back.

The chicken is moist and tender with great flavor ! I will admit the place could be a little cleaner on the inside.
But the food makes up for it and they have a salsa bar. So far the 3 salsas I got today are yummy.
So if you are in the mood for GREAT grilled chicken stop by, WAY better than any other chicken place I have found.
I am glad I work in Elgin, I will be going there a lot !!!

Great chicken meal at a great price. Chicken comes with grilled jalepeno and whole green onions! Yum. For sides, order rice and beans. The beans are amazing.

I recently tried your chicken, rice and beans at a Chicago Mustangs game and it was delicious! I will be visiting soon… I want some more!

I have been a customer since day 1 but lately their service is not the same. A month ago, I ordered food to go and the chicken was burned. After trying to reach the owner for 3 days, all he said was he would check with his staff, there was no apology at all. Last night, we decided to give them another chance and ordered a chicken meal with beans and rice to go. The beans were spoiled! My kids had already eaten most of it, I was so furious this place has spoiled food. They could get food poisoning! I threw away the food and was so nauseas after, the smell and taste of the beans was horrible. I called the restaurant and the lady said the owner was not there. I did explain the issue but no ownership, apology or anything was said. They lost my business forever.

I order the chicken taco lunch combo. Although the ingredients were fresh, the taste was a bit blend and the chicken was a little dry to my liking. Overall, the meal wasn’t memorable. Perhaps I didn’t order the right item since everyone else on Unilocal seemed to be highly satisfactory with their experience in this establishment.

Easy parking! Ordered the half pollo Asado and it came with 2 sides. Rice and grilled scallop onions were great! They also have a kids menu the the kiddos enjoyed. Wish they had chicken nachos! I’m sure it would be amazing as well!

Great chicken. Authentic Mexican food. Park across street in free parking lot. Highly recommended.

My girlfriend’s sister brought takeout from La Casa del Pollo Asado for dinner one night, and we were stuffed and satisfied. She brought us LCdPA again, and we were hooked! The chicken is absolutely delicious and juicy, and the sides are also very good. They serve their chicken in four sizes: 1 ½, whole, half, or quarter. You can get either the grilled chicken (asado) or the BBQ (en salsa barbeque). We’ve gotten the grilled chicken, which is bursting with flavor (especially since the skin is left on) and is accented well by the grilled green onions and jalapenos that come with.
I recommend picking up a «Family Order.» That comes with either 1 grilled or BBQ chicken, which is cut up into 8 pieces or 1 ½ grilled or BBQ chicken, which is cut up into 12 pieces, plus your choice of three sides. The beans are excellent, although they are not what you might think of when you think of Mexican-​style beans. These beans come with more broth and have pieces of bacon floating around in all that brothy goodness. I don’t even like beans, and I found myself gobbling these up. We also get the rice and the chips /​guacamole, which are both very good. There’s also a salsa station where you can pick from an array of sauces.
The prices are very reasonable and the food is great. For $ 15-​$ 20, you get a delicious, well-​balanced and fairly large meal. You can’t beat that! So skip that KFC or Popeye’s family meal and head over to La Casa del Pollo Asado! (I understand that LCdPA and KFC /​Popeye’s serve different kinds of chicken, but with the family meals you’re essentially getting the same thing: chicken + sides).
