Was over charged… 38.50 for 4 shots of whiskey… I think it is unbelievable that they take advantage of a dark setting and over charge you for shots when having a good time… Last visit for us there

One of my favorite places to stop and have a cold Modelo. A reorganization is happening at the Dutch under new manager Leo. Changes to the kitchen, seating and more live music on the weekends. So good things are happening at the old Dutch. *Note– Ardie is out of work for 5 to 6 weeks. He just had surgery on two disks in his neck and carpal tunnel surgery also. Get well buddy. See you soon.

Great band tonight to go with the perfect cooked Haddock. The waitress was just okay, bartenders were fabulous. New look at «the Dutch» Thanks forva great Friday.

Ok, never been here before, but came to see a blues band for possible entertainment… They’re not bad. As you all have guessed, I’m kinda partial to Old Fashions. I ask the waitress how the bartender is at making them. She says, not sure about the guy(owner), because she hasn’t seen him make one. But, she seems eager to test the girl. I tell the waitress that if it’s bad, I’m sending it back. She says, and so you should! Cool! The guy overrides the girl, to the waitress’s dismay. Turns out, he begins within eye shot of me, 6 – 7 feet away. So, me knowing the well made process, kinda like watching a sushi chef, I enjoy watching the process. He requests the contained fruit from the girl bartender and instructs her to pay attention. One orange slice, couple cherries, pretty good! Packet o sugar, ok but not bad. Cola out of the gun?! Uh oh. The surgeon requests the fruit grinder, stat! «We don’t… The surgeon hastily grabs the bitters bottle that’s been sitting there for several years without being cleaned! He pounds multiple dashes into the glass. Without the fruit grinding tool available, according to his learned assistant, he takes the bitters bottle, which has now become the fruit grinding tool and proceeds to make use! At this point, my enjoyment is quickly evacuating! I then watch as he adds overflowing ice to the glass that is already two thirds full of liquid and follows with wasting my beloved Makers! The tears begin to stream down my face when I think I have seen it all. But NO! He then pours the concoction back and forth to a second plastic cup! And when the surgeon was sure that proper and complete mixing had occurred, he wanted to confirm the taste, as any culinary professional would. He grasped both vessels, one empty, one overflowing, and to my further surprise, the glass holding the alleged Old Fashioned has now been breached by the pursed slurping lips of the surgeon!!! Um, I’m sorry, I changed my mind, I’d prefer an unopened Modelo please…

The minute this place let Arden Leffler go was the minute the doors started to close. Arden was there for 10 years and made this dive bar a fun place to go. It could be busy or slow and Arden always made sure to interact with you and make sure you had a smile on your face. Bring Arden back or enjoy going out of business…

they have updated their food supplier and now serve Nellas Beef. Great tasting and about as fresh as you can get. the bar its self is a nice place to play some darts, pool, shuffle board or just sit at the bar and watch as the diverse crowd talks about their life. and they also have bands on Friday and Saturday nights. overall, a Great little place to hang out in and be yourself.

Love this place, just wish they’d get a few craft beer selections in there. Ardie is hands down the finest bartender anywhere.

The Dutch Inn West is the place to be if you’re looking for cheap, strong drinks. Make sure you have a cab on standby because these drinks pack a punch. The best bartender in this place is a fellow named Ardie. Ardie is an old school bartender who will take good care of you. He simultaneously serves as bartender and bouncer. If you come to this place you better not partake in any shenanigans or the long arm of the Ardie will come down upon you. The place is dated, but who goes to the bar to admire the décor anyway? The place has popcorn ceilings, smoke fans, circa 1982 tile flooring and a shuffleboard table. This place used to have a reputation of a rough biker bar with regular fights, shootings, and stabbings. Now, this is not a biker bar but a bar filled with average joes of all walks of life… Farmers, mechanics, executives, students, cops, criminals, the unemployed, the infirmed, singles, married couples, swingers, etc. all who assemble in a run down dingy place seeking a good time with lots of alcohol. A refuge for the hard core drinkers during the day, a beloved dive bar at night… You can’t go wrong.

Nice neighborhood bar just west of St Joe’s hospital. Good chili too. Friendly bartender and crowd with a «juke box»(don’t know what they are called now) with music I remember too.

This place is everything you would expect of a proper small town bar. Shuffleboard, darts, pool? Yes, all of that. $ 2.50 schlitz? Yes. Shitty bar food that largely consists of things you pull out of a freezer and nuke for a few minutes? Absolutely. Went with a few work colleagues a few weeks ago and although we definitely felt a little out of place with the regular crowd it was a really nice experience and we will most likely return soon.

This is just about exactly what I think of when I think of a dive bar– maybe a bit nicer than a dive bar. We stopped in for some live music, and found the bar to be enjoyable. The bartenders were excellent– fun, speedy, and efficient at making a variety of drinks. The beer was cheap, so our friends were pleased, and there was a significant crowd on this night– probably due to the live music. The parking lot is gravel, but has many spaces, so there weren’t many troubles with parking despite the crowd. There was a small stage for the live music, and they brought in a tech guy to do all of the sound. There were also several different games to pass the time. Overall, I will likely not be back– not really my type of place– but if my friend’s band were back– I would happily go back.

For some reason this is the spot for everybody that you ever met in high school. From the 04′ years and on they’re all here when you come back on winter break. Place gets packed on Friday. I like seeing familiar faces so I enjoy coming here and hanging out

It’s the local bar, but neighbors pack the house on Fridays for the fish fry — cod, skinny fries in a plastic hot dog basket — and which, on our last and only visit to date took a while to get and when we got it was a little floppy. Clearly others have not had the same experience. We might return in a pinch.

We are regulars for the friday fish fry. The portions are big and the prices are low. Not exactly fancy inside, but has that friendly/shabby vibe you get at a good neighborhood bar. Get there early on fridays though, the parking lot fills up early and the wait time for your food increases.

I love a good bar and love it even more when it is kind of «divey.» The Dutch has been here forever. My first time here was about 15 years ago. I was invited to get a beer with a co-worker. We walked in during a «fashion show» of sorts. Interesting. The demographic has changed since then. It now is a 20 – 30 something crowd with your standard grizzled regulars. I had a very good burger when I was there last. Bartender is a hoot. Lots of fun and they have old-school shuffleboard and beer in a can. Good times.

We love The Dutch! Ard makes the place. He is a hilarious bar tender, and knows how to work the joint. I have never gone to The Dutch and not had a great time. Shuffle board is fun, and the hook/ring game on the wall is so addicting!
