We went out with Blue Dolphin Charter today and highly recommend them. The crew is excellent. Very attentive to the guests. Even though we could not snorkel, the captain went out of his way to make sure we had a good trip. The crew was also very knowledgeable about local history and VERY family friendly.

Captain Chad was the best!!! This was probably the coolest thing I have ever done in my life! The crew was friendly and the captain went further down when all the other ships were turning around! He took us under waterfalls and we got wet! This was well worth the money and I’m a penny pincher. The dinner… We almost went with captain Andy chapter bc of the chef on board but the food on this charter was legit!!! Highly recommend

A MUST while visiting Kauai!!! Captain Chris was so kind and friendly, as well as the staff! Ryan and Jen were the crew members on deck. Everyone was very friendly and willing to answer questions, engage in friendly conversation and take photos for you! Everyone talks about Capt. Andy’s charters. We were disappointed when that was booked. Till we found the Blue Dolphin and it was amazing! Highly recommend if you’re interested in seeing the Na’pali coast! It was a beautiful day at Sea! You get to snorkel, enjoy the scenery, and have a nice lunch and cocktails! My husband and I did a different boat trip in Maui and the service was just nearly as good as Captain Chris and the crew on the Blue Dolphin. Just note if you get sea sick as I do be sure to get some Bonine and take the night before and again an hour before the excursion works like a charm!!! I didn’t get sick!

We really enjoyed our tour of the Napali coast with Captain Chad, Jen and Sully! They went above and beyond to ensure that we had an amazing time and were safe and comfortable for the entire ride. We loved the dinner and drinks! Very yummy food. I loved the music that Captain Chad played for us. He sang along too and gave us a good laugh and lots of smiles.

Captain Chad the man! The first date we were scheduled for the dinner NaPali Coast cruise we got out about ½ hour on the tour and there was a medical emergency that caused us to turn around and head back to port. In that one ½ hour we had so much fun with Chad and his crew that we asked to reschedule with him. We were impressed by the way that Capt, Chad handled the emergency and my family and myself felt safe and Capt got the tour quickly back to port. The company was very nice to help us reschedule or offer apologies and refunds to those who couldn”t reschedule. About our trip June 11th, 2016. We were able to go out with Capt. Chad again. He is so funny, fun, adventurous, and a native of the Island. His crew took such good care of everyone, from serving them, drinks, snacks, liquor, offering, advice, dinner, taking pictures for you. It was so much fun for my family and myself. My 6 year loved it. She got wet several times in the caves and under the falls. She saw rainbows, Dolphins, turtles, and a beautiful sunset, she will remember for years to come. The only issue I had was when she had to use the restroom. The ride was rough and we barely made it down the stairs being tossed to and fro. She is so small and without anything to hold on to she was tossed around a bit and got scared and just wet herself. I think next time I will just let her wear her suit or disposable training pants. So I suggest this cruise to anyone who wants to have a good evening on the coast. There were people of all ages loving this cruise. The other cruises just past by us they didn’t stop to see the falls, or get up close to the cliffs, which by the way the water was very clear. If your going to visit this Island don’t miss this adventure, and remember to ask to book with Captain Chad. Thank you Blue Dolphin for the wonderful experience.

Captain Roy and his crew did a great job on our deluxe snorkel tour of the na Pali coast. We had a great time snorkeling/swimming with fish and sea turtles, watching Dolphins, sliding and jumping off the boat, and splashing in a waterfall, in addition to seeing the natural wonder that is the na Pali coast. Definitely worth the cost! The waves get a little«fierce» in makaha(I think that’s the name) valley, and some people on our tour got sick; prepare accordingly.

My family and I went on the Sunset dinner cruise with Matt, Zack and Capt. Chad. To begin with the Capt. Was very funny and informative on safety precautions. Once on the boat he gave us info about his home and about the local stories on the island which I know most charters don’t do. They took us up close to the waterfalls where we were literally underneath them, that was a first for us. Also, having my grandparents with me they’re not able to climb down the stairs and get the dinner but the crew members gladly brought them plates and drinks. They were all very nice crew members and one of the best tours we’ve ever taken! Highly recommend this charter if you want a different and fun experience with a great crew.

Captain Chad, Quinn, and Matt rock… As Captain Chad is a local, we got to see some waterfalls that most tourists don’t get a chance to see. Great service, food, and drink. Chad is also familiar with the local history and makes the trip a memorable event! The dinner/sunset cruise is the way to go… Aloha

I have used two boat tour companies in Kauai. The Napali Catamaran & Blue Dolphin. This year I got a deal for combining my air & sea tours. My sea tour was by Blue Dolphin. Blue Dolphin was by far the best one. VESSEL The boat was big, clean, stable & it had a restroom. LUNCH The non alcoholic drinks were served from beginning till the end. Lunch was amazing. Make your own sandwich with every type of meat possible, 2 kinds of cheese, a salad bar to top your sandwiches, potato salad, 2 types of cookies & any type of drink(hot cocoa, tea, coffee, soda, juice, Mai tai, u name it they had it). They had snacks throughout the trip. CREW They worked really hard to keep us safe & entertained. They deserve a good tip. So the pressure to be good & courteous was on us. We tipped them well.

Thanks to captain Chad and Danny and Clay, we had the time of our lives on the sunset dinner cruise today. It was an awesome experience that we will remember for the rest of our lives. We got to go up close and personal with a waterfall. I don’t know how he got us that close. And we saw dolphins and tried to get close to a whale. Amazing!!! We would definitely recommend them to all our friends. And the food was delicious! I was pleasantly surprised considering we ate on the boat. Chicken was flavorful and perfectly cooked. 5 stars to the chef.

Overall, a good experience. The crew was friendly and knew what they were doing. The ocean was particularly rough that day, and we were the only boat from Port Allen that was able to reach the Napali Coast, while most of the others instead cruised along the south side of the island. Due to the rough waves, both my wife and I(but especially my poor wife) got seasick. Due to this, we were not able to fully enjoy every moment of the cruise, but obviously this was not Blue Dolphin’s fault, only our stomachs! The dinner was good, but not great. The views however were spectacular, and we were lucky enough to see many dolphins right up by the bow. Also plenty of whales! :)

This was our 3rd trip to Kauai and our first boat tour and first time to snorkel. I was referred to Blue Dolphin from our resorts concierge. We arrived and were impressed with the office and efficiency of the check in process. Captain Joe was very funny, and my daughter and husband won t-shirts answering questions about Hawaii. The boat was a lovely, clean catamaran. Lots of seating and a very knowledgeable crew. After going through the rules of the boat, we were off. Captain Joe was very up to the minute on the weather. We stopped to snorkel first, as wind was projected to come in later in the morning. My son, 12, daughter, 15 and I had never snorkeled. We were shown what to do in detail and headed out. I felt totally safe, with 2 crew members in the water with us. We saw amazing fish, a sea turtle and just had a brilliant time. Back in the boat, we had breakfast rolls, juice and coffee/hot chocolate. We saw sea turtles, flying fish, 2 large pods of bottle nose dolphins and a baby whale! Wonderful trip. I would recommend this company to anyone who wants to see the Na Pali coast and snorkel.

We did a scuba and boat tour with blue dolphin charters and it was AWESOME. The captain and crew were GREAT! They were really nice and easy to get a long with. Ben was our scuba instructor. It was my first time scuba diving and he did a good job giving me a crash course of what to expect and what I need to do. He guided me throughout the dive and checked on me frequently. At times, I panicked a little if I didn’t see him or my friend. But, he was very REASSURING. The two other crew members were Danny and Sully. They were great and super friendly too. I got in trouble a few times from Danny because I wasn’t holding on to the railing while taking pictures(which is one of their rules). But he was really nice about it and just wanted everyone to be safe. The staff also frequently offer to take pictures of you and your family and friends. They don’t make it awkward for anyone. We saw Dolphins, whales, and turtles! There were so much Dolphins that I truly contemplated about jumping off the boat to swim with them. Overall, It was a GREAT experience. I couldn’t believe that we were able to scuba dive and do a boat tour to napali coast too. AND, They fed us and provided drinks. But, honestly their staff is so awesome that it makes a BIGDIFFERENCE in your experience :) I would recommend this business to everyone! Their scuba dive and boat tour was the HIGHLIGHT of my Kauai Trip. BOOKITNOW. Very thankful to the captain, ben, danny, and sully. Thanks Ben for bringing me back alive after my first scuba dive. –rocky

Great scenery. But«Captain Chad» should be your choice only if you feel like spending several hours in a karaōke bar with bad music instead of taking a cruise. His assistant, Sully, spent the whole trip hustling old ladies for tips, while ignoring other passengers. It was a dinner cruise, with unimpressive food. Chicken and pork but no fish. On a Hawaiian cruise boat? It might have tasted better if the captain didn’t spend so much time announcing how great the food was. The offset: Beautiful scenery. Lots and lots of beautiful scenery along the shorelines and cliffs of the island of Kauai. Plus a school of spinner dolphins running along side the boat.

A professional company delivering exactly what it says on the tin. My only reservation would be that its main competitor, «Andy», actually puts up a decent sized sail and seems to sail their boat — as a sailor, that would have been my preference, I prefer the motion of a boat under sail than engine. But it probably won’t make a difference for most people, and I thought«Andy» had a more boisterous, holiday camp feel than the serious but confidence-building style of Larry. Beginners might also find the«leaning» feel of a catamaran under sail a bit stressful, in which case Blue Dolphin is the better choice. The boats are well designed: catamarans with a token mast and«sail»(really more like a flag that they hoist at Napali), wide, with big, clean toilets(big enough to get changed in quickly), and a grippy floor and plenty of things to grab on everywhere. There’s two floors, the top floor is good for a view and a nice seat, the bottom one for sitting in the shade of the boat or jumping with the waves at the front. They cruise at 17 knots and the trip is 70 miles(didn’t catch if these were nautical). The food is what is described: fresh baked cinnamon rolls for breakfast, sandwiches with 3 – 4 cold meats and various fillings for lunch, with a mix of soft drinks and, for lunch, beer and mai tais. I quite enjoyed it, and the cookies. Safety is taken seriously, the boat is well equipped, and the captain knew how to reassure a tourist audience whilst making sure they were well informed on what to do. The crew also kept a sharp eye — my descending the steps facing outwards(a big no-no for Captain Larry) was detected within a half second, and they did careful headcounts after the snorkel(during which a crew member kept watch on a surfboard). The crew was professional, polite and effective throughout. The show itself is SO worth it. The coast is unlike anything I’ve seen before travelling in four continents — even the most striking parts of Australia are nothing like that moody, sulky, brutal mountain shaped by millenia of rain and crashing Pacific waves. There are so many whales I actually managed a dozen decent shots(something I’ve never managed before) and the boat plays with dolphins often. The snorkeling spot was good; there were turtles but I think they fled when we entered the water. Lastly, sea sickness. Well, the Napali coast seems like a rough place to go if you have no previous boating experience. Waves are a good 2m high, and can get much bigger(I think I heard«60 feet» but that sounds a bit big). That takes care of your«big, but regular motion» which will be a problem for people who have never been on a boat before. The return trip is through a choppy section(about 30 minutes) where the problem is very irregular waves coming from several directions making the bounce pattern irregular(if smaller), which seems to have triggered the next experience level to feel unwell. Out of my group, those who had previously swam in the sea(proper open ocean swimming, not dipped) and those with sailing experience were fine, the rest felt sick or in two cases were actually sick. At the same time, most people were absolutely fine and there was a 2 year old baby running around the front unconcerned by the fact the world was going up and down. So, there’s no other way to know than by trying it, but with maybe 5 – 7 people out of 40 or so throwing up, don’t worry, the odds are in your favour. They hand out really nice customized plastic sick bags which seemed easy enough to use. Before going, I thought the fee was steep, but you do get your money’s worth and it is hard work for the crew. Worth a shot if you don’t fancy the helicopter.

First, two words: Captain Chad. I am so glad we had a local boy on our charter. He was fun(ny) and you could tell he likes to party. His shipmates were also awesome. Danny & Ko. They made sure everyone stayed safe and had a good time. We saw spinner & bottlenose dolphins. Sea turtles(honu) and humpback whales. Being able to see these animals in their natural habitat humbled me. I was very touched. Because of rough seas, Captain Chad took us to a bay that was more suitable for snorkeling. We were able to see fish and coral, but it was harder to stay in the water for a full hour because the waves were stronger. We were served a deli lunch on board & we had a fantastic bartender. But, let me tell you. The sandwich I had on that boat was probably one of the best I’ve ever had. The bread was cut really thick and still was super soft. I had like, a pound of alfalfa sprouts on my sandwich, but that just made it even more awesome. I ate my sandwich in bliss while staring out to the blue ocean. Cannot get any better than that. There are a lot of companies that can take you out to the ocean, so why should you choose this one? Because they make you feel like you are a part of something bigger than just a bunch of people taking a cruise together. Everyone’s excitement and happiness was intoxicating and that’s just awesome.

Capt Chad y su tripulación fueron demasiado amables. La Costa de Napali es bellísima y el capitán nos llevó más largo que los demás botes. Bebidas y comida incluidas. Recomendado.
