Argast Photography Workshops

I attended a three hour Argast Photography workshop held at San Pablo Dam Reservoir. The workshop was extremely informative, as well as enjoyable. Patrick went over the fundamental components of exposure, and gave us some great tips on composition.
Patrick also showed us how to take advantage of the more manual settings on our cameras, as opposed to relying on the preset modes. I found Patrick to be very knowledgeable, and personable instructor. Over all it was a great experience!

I recently got an SLR like camera, and decided I could either spend hours and hours reading books and taking lots of pictures, or to get some professional instruction. I found Patrick’s site and signed up for the class in the early morning at El Sobrante reservoir in the East Bay. Excellent class — Patrick is a very patient instructor, and taught the small group how to use our cameras in a host of different conditions. He went over f-​stops, film speed, aperture, shutter speed, and how to combine them to get better shots than the pre-​set «auto» on our cameras. He spent plenty of time with each student. It was a really fun class, and I feel like I have a much better understanding of my camera and how to get great shots instead of just winging it.
