Uh I totally did not have the spectacular experience some other people have talked about below. In summary: lame, bland«truffle» fries and I got sick from the undercooked, sloppily assembled burger. I came here a little after lunchtime on a Sunday, and it was packed. I asked for a table, and got a bit of scorn for not choosing to sit at the bar. Sorry, but my 45 minutes for lunch are my only down time, and I didn’t want to be packed in next to strangers! Ordering wasn’t all that confusing, and I got the Goodnight burger with a «non-gluten» bun. Grilled onions, cheese, how could this go wrong? I asked for it with no jalapeños and no BBQ sauce, which the man at the counter confirmed has gluten. I also ordered the truffle fries everyone else raved about, and $ 20 later, I sat down at my assigned table. The food took FOREVER. Weird, because the guy at the cash register where I ordered said fries would be out in 3 – 5 minutes with my burger in less than 10. I know they were packed, but 30+ minutes for fast-casual? Really? When my food did come out, it was wrong. My burger had jalapeños on it, so I flagged down one of the food runners to ask if there was BBQ sauce on it too — a question for my health, not just for preference. They brought the burger back into the kitchen, lifted up the bun and brought it back, assuring me there wasn’t any BBQ sauce and I could pick off the jalapeños. Kay cool. They also told me that they make their buns on shared equipment, not just in a shared environment(the classic business claim to cover themselves in case of cross contamination). I wish someone had told me about that when I ordered! Against my better judgement, I ate the burger. Part-way through, I found tomato(not listed as an ingredient on the menu), and noticed the burger was practically raw. Like blood red not even a centimeter from the outside. I actually like my meat rare, but this was something else. I kept eating hoping for some flavor, but there was none. Then, I felt a gluten reaction. And when my $ 7 truffle fries finally arrived(after I asked about them twice and had to get them to-go) they were so blah. No truffle flavor at all. They were just an oily, shoestring mess with some parmesan sprinkled on top. I don’t know if the people who have had great experiences here have come when it’s less busy? But the quality control was seriously lacking when this place was almost at capacity. It was so rushed, so sloppy and the concepts were poorly carried out. $ 20 per person for some seriously sketchy quality and bland food? I’ll be headed back to In-n-Out where less than half the price gets me twice as good food.

Pretty tasty burger. I ordered the Goodnight/Good Cause. I asked for my burger to be cooked medium since places tend to overcook them. I almost asked for medium rare as I normally do. Good thing I didn’t because it was on the rare side. My coworker got the medium well and his was dripping with blood. I who like my burgers to moo was almost grossed out. I know I read the menu wrong because I was anticipating crispy onions, and not caramelized. That threw off my taste buds. I’m a fan of Tilamook cheese, but I think it would’ve been good with a Sharp, or Extra Sharp Cheddar. The burger lacked sauce and wasn’t seasoned as well as I would have liked it to be. It was juicy but lacked flavor.

AHITUNABURGER: I’ve had plenty of ahi burgers but this one is my favorite. You must like wasabi and seaweed flavors to enjoy this burger. It’s entertaining to eat this burger because with certain bites the wasabi is strong and will make you grab your nose. The Nori chips(seaweed) give this burger the crunch factor and so innovative. Then there’s the sweet sauce(not overly sweet) with the right amount of micro-greens. As for the ahi tuna, seared on both sides(sushi grade, not overly cooked). I wouldn’t mind if they seared it slightly less because raw tuna is so much better than cooked. I don’t care if I haven’t tried the other burgers on the menu, it’s so good I’m ordering this burger next time! PRIMETIMEBURGER: Nothing to complain about it. Quality meat. Flavors were balanced. If you love brie, don’t expect a slab of brie with this burger. It’s more of a brie sauce. FRIES: delicious, but not the best. Several pieces were stale and too oily. Their ketchup and chipotle sauce were delicious though. GINGERLEMONADE: not overly sweet(which I like). SEATING: it’s pretty straight forward. When you enter there’s a cashier at the end of the room. While you’re waiting in line to make your order one of their employees will provide you a paper with a table number(which is awesome because it annoys me when people reserve tables prior to ordering). After you order pick up your condiments and sit at your assign table. In my opinion it’s more efficient than having a waiter that takes your drink, then comes back to take your order… etc.

Hop your way in here, stat! Great addition to the area for some yummy burgers! So they have somewhat of a weird seating and ordering concept. Walk in, get a ticket with the number of people in your party and the assigned table. Then walk to the counter, order and pay. Then seat yourself according to the number given at the door. Then you get a server like normal. Why not just be seated and have the waiter take our order in the first place? So you’re most likely doing double transactions if you’re planning on ordering additional items like drinks once you’re seated. Seems more of a hassle the way things work around here in that sense, but it seems to be working. The menu is actually pretty small, I was expecting a lot more options for burger combinations but the ones I’ve tried thus far have been tasty. The ktown Burger was definitely a stand out choice for me, and I crave it, paired with fries and chili con queso which is literally to die for, sooo addicting! I was surprised how meaty it was, and packed with so much flavor, I was impressed. Make sure to come during happy hour because they make some pretty good drinks here! Overall, I am a fan, and I’m glad there’s another good foodie spot to enjoy close to home. Happy eats, loves! ^_^

This place is going to change your life the way it’s changed mine. I went in for lunch because I’d been to a Hopdoddy two nights before. Couldn’t wait to come back so I tried this location. It was just opening so I was just checking out a menu in front. An employee asked me if I had any questions, «Are you open?» Sure come on in. I was told I could sit anywhere because there was no line yet. I didn’t quite get what they meant, but later observed they save you a table as you come in and then deliver food to you. My waiter, Chris came by and asked if I wanted anything to drink and if I was ready to order. I caught him without pen and paper, but he came back quickly with a water and lemon(he offered.) We shot the crud about Alabama football championship game, then I ordered a burger, Good Night-Good Cause because it gave $ 1 to charity. I wanted to try their«chicken» burger this time in contrast to turkey(or the to die for beef all Classic). I was debating on the Queso because I love the stuff, but this was an early lunch and I thought it might be too much. Chris said he could handle it so the challenge had been made. Tempting. Not this time but Soon, just a small fry please, well done, crispy. Fries came out first, well crisped and that chipotle ketchup is very very good. Burger came out quickly thereafter and it was great. I couldn’t believe how juicy a chicken burger could be, was. It was a tiny hint pink in the middle which was surprising but not underdone per se, just not over done. Grilled onions, cheese and fresh jalapenos were super, a little spicy and ultra fresh. Buns are soft, supple. I’m literally planning my life and meals around when I can go to a Hopdoddy next.

Went to lunch with my friend who happens to be a vegetarian, so when she suggested a burger joint, I was pleasantly surprised. They offer a pretty good veggie patty so she was covered. We got there at maybe 12:45−1ish and the host said we could take this table up front and just go up and order. We ordered and although I love a good hamburger, I had a steak the night before so I went with the turkey burger on whole wheat. It had bacon so it wasn’t as healthy as you think! My friend got a veggie burger and a side of fries. We sat down and our her fries came out pretty fast. Of course she shared some with me and they were yummy. They have an awesome chipotle ketchup up in the front. The fries were gone by the time the burgers came, which I didn’t love but whatcha gonna do? Our food came maybe 10 minutes later and it was really tasty. The staff came around often to either clear our plates or get us boxes. Overall this place is pretty good, I’d definitely come back. The real test will be the beef burger…

So the first time I was here was for a Unilocal event and I got to try a little of everything including the burgers, fries and shakes. We also had our own reserved seating arrangements so no waiting in line was necessary. My favorite out of those was the El Diablo burger and the Con Carne fries so coming here the 2nd time I knew what I wanted again. The burgers here are delicious, thick patties, and fresh fluffy buns. This is similar to other burger places like The Counter except you can’t really build your own but get to choose from their own creations which are all equally delicious. I not a huge fan of truffle fries but their Chile sauces make up for it, I would recommend spending the extra buck for the sauce. Their drinks aren’t bad either, the Black Cherry Limeade is great as well as the little Frozen Margarita shots that can be had for a couple bucks. In terms of service, everything was great, the manager is awesome and the staff are all friendly. One hick-up on the 2nd time around was where the margaritas were unavailable due to a consistency problem but that was about it. The only thing that keeps me from giving a full 5 stars is the ordering and seating process. Ordering first at the counter and then waiting to be seated is kind of cumbersome especially when the place is full, luckily it wasn’t when we were here but I heard it can be. I’d rather seat myself after ordering or be seated first then order(from a waitress/iPad etc.). But overall this place is great, nice alcohol selection and great food at a reasonable price.

First, I have to say the ordering and seating is kind of strange. When you walk in, you are given a table number then are told to stand in line to order at the back of the restaurant. It was a little awkward at first because we didn’t know what we wanted, so we wanted to sit down first and figure it out. That’s what we ended up doing, then we got in line, but yeah, we all agreed it was a little awkward. Moving on… we went during happy hour on Thursday(ends at 6). The place was not super crowded, but there were definitely a good amount of people there. The HH includes $ 5 drinks, which is a decent deal for their cocktails. We all chose different cocktails and all enjoyed them. I had the El Diablo burger. It was tasty, juicy, and had a little bit of heat. I would have preferred more spicy, but I like my food very hot. It was $ 8.50 for the burger. We also ordered the large truffle fries, which came with truffle dipping sauce; they were very good($ 6.50). The large is enough for 2 – 3 people I’d say. We ended up order two large fries among four people and didn’t quite finish them all. Also, a shake was ordered and tasted among all of us. It was the nutella pretzel one and it was delicious – super creamy! Bottom line, everything was very good and I would come back again. There burgers are a bit cheaper than The Counter, which is right around the corner, but they do have fewer combos.

Hopdoddy Burger Bar is the new burger restaurant at The Point. It is near the center of the center so it is conveniently located. You come in, and your party is assigned a table number and directed to the counter to order. There is a large bar where patrons can sit around and face the center. There are then a variety of tables, most of which are high. The décor is fun — chalkboards, edison lights, and wood tables/black banquettes. There are about 3 televisions showing various sporting events. The staff is INCREDIBLY friendly and very helpful. If you need a highchair, they have a very cool seat that hangs off of the side of the table and thoroughly enjoyed by the LO. While there is a kids menu($ 6 for a slider with fries and a drink), we opted in favor of ordering a couple of burgers and a salad to share. We had: Primetime Burger($ 13): a incredibly soft and VERY fresh brioche bun with a ground beef patty cooked to medium rare(not bad — I ordered rare) and was incredibly juicy and well seasoned. It is topped with a slab of Brie cheese, a little arugula, a fair amount of caramelized onions, mayo and steak sauce. All I could taste was brie cheese and onions — the rest of it gets pretty lost. But, the burger and bun are fantastic. It was a very good burger, but I would definitely try something else with other toppings. These toppings did not blow me out of the water and weren’t worth the premium price tag. Continental Club($ 9): this sandwich is worth the trip(as well as the service)! A fresh wheat bun topped with seeds and such has a super moist turkey patty, slices of bacon, mayo, basil pesto, arugula, tomato, onion and swiss(subbed for provolone). The pesto gets a bit lost in the mayo, which I would skip in the future. Otherwise, this was an incredibly delicious burger. The LO enjoyed her half too. Kale Salad($ 9.50): served on a tray like the burgers — cute! Baby kale and arugula are tossed in a pomegranate vinaigrette(fruity and tangy) with cubes of roasted butternut squash, a bit of feta, spicy roasted corn, sweet dates, and pickled red onions. Super tasty and a nice sized portion. Pecan Ale($ 5): from the tap, DH loved this beer. It had a nice medium color and a nutty flavor. The LOs and I enjoyed water. :) I love good meat sandwiched between good buns with healthy options on the menu(the salad offsets the burger — trust me). I will definitely be back. It’s pricey but its quality with great service.

The service was impeccable from the time we walked in to the time we received our check. We ordered the El Diablo burger($ 10+ with tax). It had Habanero and Serrano peppers. It wasn’t that spicy. But then again, this is El Segundo, bordering on Manhattan Beach. Food was good. Hopdoddy Burger Bar makes its own buns on the premises. It’s a trendy space filled with a lot of sunlight. Fries are over $ 6. Pretty pricey.

First post of 2016. So, time flies. I feel like I was just over here and they were hiring. Then the waitress told me they have been open 6 months. No way. So we walk in and greeted. I was a little confused, but figured it out, so we walked up to order from the counter. Hey look, Happy hour starts at 3. 5 dollar drinks. Beer for me and a martini for my wife. Both deliscious. Be warned, the beer comes in a schooner. We started with the fancy named fries, that were good, but didn’t earn the name. They were regular fries. I ordered the Wild Bill bison burger. It came with buffalo wing sauce and bacon. Truthfully, I didn’t taste a ton of bacon, but the combination worked very well. It was so good. It was juicy and the bun was soft. The blue cheese was great. My wife got the good cause burger. She likes it cooked a little more than it was, but she said it was great. The jalapeños got her a little bit though. Plus money from that burger gets donated to charity. I want to go back and try the con Carne sauce. See you there soon.

I am a man of my word when it comes to Unilocal. So I will get this out of the way right now: Michael. What’s up dude? I told you I’d write this and shout you out! Freddy… you too. Just barely cause you walked in at the end like«What about me?» lol I had come for a Unilocal Elite event and once it was over me and my buddy walked over to the bar because the drinks we tried were awesome. So all the Unilocal Elites left and we were there with a few random people sprinkled around(Not true Unilocal Elites if you call it a night early: P) Michael was our bartender and this guy is baller as fuck. For being a young whipper snapper, he sure knew how to roll with the punches. We talked about this amazing city of Los Angeles getting a new football team. Welcome back, Rams. We talked about the Lakers and Clippers and how Steph Curry is a little twig boy with an insane shot. We talked about The Joker and how Heath Ledger smashed that performance. We talked about Leonardo DiCaprio being robbed of Oscar gold time and time again and Johnny Depp being just an actor who loves cooky insane over-the-top roles. We talked about illegally streaming movies… as you can tell… we ran the damn gamut when it came to topics of discussion but Michael was always there engaging in conversation. I asked if they had beer flights and they don’t have any, unfortunately. But Freddy came up to us and gave us small glasses with a sample of beer so that was cool. Ordered a round or two and some truffle fries and called it a good Tuesday. FYI. They have these glasses they give out for free when you buy a $ 7 beer you keep the glass. Pretty neat if you ask me. I can use more beer glasses at home. HopDoddy is legit. Michael. You’re the man. They need to promote you, son! Get paid! And Freddy, you can walk in after like«What about me?» hahaha. Seriously, Freddy was cool too.

Hopdoddy is located in the hot, new outdoor shopping plaza, The Point in El Segundo. The sweetie and I drove into The Point on a Sunday afternoon. It is a busy shopping area and we managed to find free parking. After perusing our choices for lunch, burgers and football sounded good. We walked in and were greeted by the friendly host who instructed us that ordering takes place in the back. We checked out the options, ordered and were a given a number. The system is a little odd for a sit-down gourmet burger place. I would prefer a menu at the table and a dedicated server rather than the current system. I opted for a turkey burger which worked out just fine. The size of the burger compared to the price point is average. Tasty turkey burger but, I would not go out of my way to come here if you are not from the area. Fries were standard and also just fine. The sweetie had the Greek burger and he loves Greek and Mediterranean flavors. Somehow, he was not wowed by his burger. Sort of tasty but, misses the mark of a solid 4 star burger. The host, cashier, and servers were all friendly, enthusiastic, and efficient. Good service overall. Ambience is OK for casual dining and catching some sports on TV. There are a plethora of gourmet burger places in the South Bay. Choose your venue carefully and enjoy! Hopdoddy is just fine for me. As for the Point, I am looking forward to checking out the food the Hopdoddy’s neighbors, North Italia and True Food Kitchen. Cheers! Thanks for reading!

Was walking around looking for a place to eat and decided to stop in to check out Hopdoddy. Its a really cool spot. You walk up and order first, then you sit down, so unlike I was on this first visit, know what you want when you get to the front of the line, or else complete strangers will hate you, and who wants that?! I had the bison burger and it was DELICIOUS, cooked perfectly. To accompany my burger I ordered the truffle fries and I think it goes without saying those were good. You can’t go wrong with«truffle» anything. Washed my din dins down with Health Ade Kombucha, which if you have never tried Kombucha, I’d say this is a darn good intro. Its organic and raw and they’re a California based company. Way to sell local Hopdoddy! For a Monday evening, the service was a little slow and our server forgot my friend’s ginger lemonade, but that won’t be enough to deter me from going back. I love a good burger! What a great new addition to the South Bay!

Glad I chose here to eat. My roommate and I were immediately attracted by the bar and very comfy seating we saw as well as the food coming out that looked divine. You order first and then a «hostess» will assign you to a table where they deliver your food. Once you order, your server becomes full service and from that point on you can ask her for anything. Names of dishes are clever and all the burgers are tasty! They say the burgers are cooked medium to medium-well but fear now, the burger is still juicy and delectable! Also try their fries with one of 4 of their sauces! The buffalo tastes like has some pico de gallo in it? Weird but good!

Hopdoddy will satisfy your craving for a tasty craft burger, or that beer, or milkshake you’re desiring. No doubt that the flavors are on target, and the options are pretty much limitless. I like the El Diablo burger there with the habanero peppers, and you cannot go wrong upgrading to the grass-fed beef patty. Hopdoddy let’s you change out orders to GF buns, or protein style with lettuce wraps, so there’s some«healthy» options out there. The Kennebec(Maine-style) fries are lightly oiled, salted, and delicious. I love the«skin-on» type fries and they use good potatoes. You can also get truffle-parmesan fries if that’s your bag… A burger and fries is about $ 17 bucks, so be ready to pay more than In ‘n Out. But you’re also getting a higher end bistro style burger too… and they’ve got booze, which helps any situation. — Order at the counter, delivered to your table. — «Servers» walk around to get you sauces, fill drinks, or help out. — Plenty of space in this new pad at The Point, — But… watch out for lunch/dinner rushes because you can wait quite a while. — Remember a «medium» burger bistro style is really medium rare, and so on. Order accordingly. — Lots to try here and plenty of amazing tastes await. The bistro burger bar craze is in full-effect, and Hopdoddy delivers a great entry in the burger wars. Eat up ‘Merica!

Loved Hopdoddy Burger Bar! The burgers were tasty and creative, fries were perfectly cooked plus they also serve beer and wine. The location was very cute, as well. I loved the fact that they have a bar and outdoor seating area. I had a «Magic Shroom» burger, which was super fresh. I especially loved the pesto. I’m looking forward to returning and trying some of their other burgers!

I ate here last Sunday for lunch. Great location in a new, beautiful outdoor mall. The mall is in the center of the parking lot so upon entering, park anywhere and walk to the center and you will find this place. Restaurant inside is spacious and clean. They have bar seating if you’re going solo, or large tables for big groups. Outdoor seating available too. A couple TV’s situated around the inside. Everything was pretty great. I ordered the classic burger medium rare and it was delicious. The closest comparison in terms of taste, size, and texture is Shake Shack. Hop Doddy’s patty might be a bit thicker; Shake Shack’s texture a bit softer. The burger was dripping quite a bit, which I don’t mind since it keeps it moist, but it can get a bit messy when eating so make sure you have extra napkins at your disposal. I also ordered the parmesan truffle fries and they were freaking delicious. Recommended. There was one thing that annoyed me and it’s that my Arnold palmer did not have free refills. I asked for a refill under the assumption that it would be but when I got my check I was charged twice. I wrote to customer service through their website about the extra charge and immediately this location’s general manager called and apologized. He said soft drinks are free refills, but anything from the bar(their lemonade is freshly squeezed) is not. He also said the waitress should have mentioned that to me beforehand. Fair enough, and I really appreciated his professionalism. The total(burger, fries, 2 drinks) came out to $ 23.16 before tip. A bit pricey for my taste, but if I hadn’t ordered the Arnold palmers it would’ve came out to under $ 15 which is well worth it. I was going to give this place 3 – 4 stars but because of the general manager’s phone call, it’s 5 stars. The food itself is delicious and well worth it.

Solid, three stars, but no higher than three stars. The truffle fries are great, the Primetime burger is delicious, but you know how Umami Burger started out being incredible and then after awhile felt like they were kinda phoning it in? Hopdoddy already feels like that. There’s a very generic, stale, chain-y feel in the here. And if you honestly think that having your employees wear shirts that say«we spank our patties and they like it» is cute or clever or funny, well, I don’t know what to tell you. I’m sure this location will thrive on the sheer newness and exposure it’ll get from being where it is, but it’s not worth going out of your way for.

An interesting name which drew me in to see what these burgers were all about! The idea behind this place is to combine beer(hop) and burgers(doddy — name of a native cow in Scotland). So, there you have it Hopdoddy! This place is located at The Point in El Segundo. I parked nearest to Hopdoddy by parking around the right side of the shopping area by entering from Village Drive. Even at 11:30AM, I was able to find really close parking. There is plenty of parking in The Point parking lot. One entire side of the restaurant has 3 oversized doors that open up and allow the outside air to flow. It also makes the interior space seem a bit larger. Along the other side of the restaurant is a long patio. There are flower pot fountains that run the length of the patio providing a little more privacy for diners. When we walked in to Hopdoddy, we were greeted and asked if we’d been there before. The hostess was talking with my friend and I was behind them, so I didn’t really hear anything they said. Luckily, I had already read some reviews and looked at the menu, so I was all set. They might want to make sure they’re talking with everyone in the group. The procedure here is to get a menu from the hostess who will explain things while you walk to the counter and give you a ticket with your table number. You will order at the counter, give them your table number, and they will bring you your food. After ordering and getting our drinks, we found our table and waited. Their soda machines are stocked with Maine Root Sodas… I tried the Black Cherry, Blueberry, and Lemon Lime. The food actually came out in a timely manner! The Truffle Kennebec Fries we ordered came out ahead of the burgers, just like the cashier told us would occur. They were really crispy and done well, but NOT crispy as in burnt! The only thing I can say is that they were a little heavy with the salt. I did like them, though! They came with a sauce which helped tame the salt a little bit. We were watching the servers and they wear a company t-shirt. All the shirts have little sayings on the back, some are interesting! You can see for yourself when you dine there. Onto the burgers! My friend ordered the Magic Shroom Burger. She wasn’t sure if she’d like the goat cheese, but she gave it a try. I’m sure she’d want to switch out the cheese in the future. I got the Llano Poblano and it was really good. I love the poblano chiles, they are a very mild but tasty pepper. The one thing about these burgers which was both good and bad is that they were dripping with juice(mixture of fat & sauce). The burgers were moist and tasty! On the other hand, I didn’t like the mess that came with these burgers. The bottom bun was a little soggy sitting in the juice for the short trip from the service counter to my table. In my opinion, there wasn’t anything spectacular to these burgers to warrant a $ 9.75 cost. Perhaps the fact that this all natural Black Angus beef is antibiotic-free & hormone-free. This is really not much different in price from burgers at The Counter. We just don’t eat at these places as often, even though the burgers are good! Hopdoddy also bakes their own bread in house daily! The buns are perfect for these burgers! I will need to come back and bring my husband and have him try the El Diablo Burger. I’m sure the burger will pack a little heat, but not enough for him to consider it S-P-I-C-Y! We shall see! I also want to try a shake. I heard they are supposed to be really delicious here. So, another visit is in order!
