I have to amend my last update. Everything was going great with them with ordering until the last few months. I began getting less than 70 percent fill rates and my orders started coming in after two days instead of overnight. I tried contacting the owner by email and phone and received nothing. Its been over a month and a half now and I have found better vendors that actually provide customer service. They make sure my order gets to me and actually refund me part of the shipping costs if it cannot get to me overnight. Its a shame that a company this big acts this way– they definitely need to improve if they are going to stay in business!

if I could have given less than 1 star review I would have. I placed an order with them for the 1st time. out of about 25 fish ordered, 5 were doa, the other fish had a very aggressive bacterial infection that killed all of them. when I brought it to the attention of ERI, thy acted as if they could care less. it it took over a week to get any type of response from their rep, basically telling me that its pretty much my fault, that they do $ 300,000k a week and that my business really doesn’t matter weather I continued to shop with them or not. I told them I will seek legal action against them I was told not to bother because they have«high priced Beverly hills attorneys and I wouldn’t get anywhere with it» I told them I would write a bad review about them and let everyone know my experience with them, I was told to go buy a dictionary, look up the word slander and if I did write a review I would be contacted by the attorney. then was hung up on. I called right back, asked for the owner. Sirgio answered, I explained to him what happened. long store short he said I was an idiot, that no wonder I am just a small retail store, that he is big time and doesn’t need my business. HORRIABLE customer service and livestock. I will never order from them again and I encourage everyone else to seek a different whole seller.

When I was focusing on my coral business a few years ago I frequented this wholeseller. They always had a great selection, healthy fish, and good coral. Unfortunately the service went downhill as the sales reps I worked with left. Since they were rude, I have not been back. I can take my money elsewhere — SDC, underwater world, PAF, these are better places to shop if you own a marine aquarium business.

Terrible customer service, lack of professionalism, and over priced shipping. I had many of the same problems as in Richard G’s review. There are many other wholesales out there to buy from. Stay far away from exotic reef imports!

Placed my first order with Exotic Reef Imports after seeing them on that TV show Tanked. I had prepared a order sheet for the week prior and because they didn’t have a item that I wanted in stock I requested that Sergio(Manager) if he could hold the items I wanted till the following week until they get the item that I was waiting for. Requested twice through email and phone and no reply. First unprofessional practice — With no reply it was clear they weren’t going to hold any items so the following week when I seen the new inventory and the item I wanted in I went ahead and placed a new order. I found a few items from my previous request(which I never received a reply from) from another wholesaler and went with them for those item. As these were special order items my client wanted these right away. WIth having no contact with Sergio himself my order was shipped out via the airlines. I was told that I would receive flight information the night before. I did receive the invoice and it was incorrect as they put two of the items from a previous order on my current order. I called and left a message, but received no reply back(2nd Unprofessionalism) The morning of delivery I didn’t receive arrival information and had to call Exotic Reef Imports. They started by telling me I had to call and see when the flight arrives. This was a first as I am the customer and they needed to provide me this information(the night before). This was their third unprofessionalism. At the Airport I had to pay double that I would normally pay for a order of this size. Come to find out they pack there fish with lots of water which made the shipment over 200 pds. The fish arrived well minus the Pufferfish they sent me as he wasn’t doing well with the acclimatation. This item as well as a Raccoon Butterfly was not to be in the order and were part of the past request. I called again and finally got a hold of someone and they put me on hold for over 45 minutes trying to find a way to get back the fish or have another store they supply to pick it up. I was open to all of these except when I was requested to drive 45 minutes(1.5 hrs in traffic) to another store to dropp off. No way! Having paid a huge amount on shipping, waisting all my time and energy on this I wasn’t going to obligate any more time to this. Plus the guy I spoke t named Frank was very rude and belittled me on the phone. Really? How can a place run a business with this type of poor attitude for the customer. There are 100’s of other wholesalers out there that would love to have a chance to fill a order. 4 th unprofessionalism. I requested I get refund for those two fish I ordered and to be done with it. After agreeing that Fedex would come to pick up the two fish on Friday, I get a email from Sergio saying that I would be credited back the amount plus shipping fee’s. Finally this was the Manager doing the«Right Thing». Friday came and all day the fish stayed in the box ready for shipment back. I waited till the end of the day and called. The receptionist said she would call Sergio and if he didn’t call back she would be sure to call me Friday night and get my refund takin care of. No call or message. I waited till late when I knew fedex would not be coming to take out the fish out of the boxes to find the puffer already deceased and the Raccoon hanging on for life. I tried to save the Raccoon, but by Sat morning he was gone. I called again on Saturday and Sunday and sent emails with no reply. I must say this is the WORSTWHOLESALEORDER I have ever Had with a Wholesaler. I am guessing after the TV Show«Tanked» Customer Service and Care for each Customer went out the window. Sergio at Exotic Reef had so many opportunities to make it right and choose to too. I WOULDNOTORDERFROMTHEMAGAIN! There are many other Wholesalers that take great care of there customers. BUYERBEWARE
