Very tasty Italian food. Thick meat sauce and blue cheese dressing. Spicy meatballs. Prepared to taste and generous portions with Personal service. Good wine choices. Most reasonable prices.

A nice looking place with pretty good service. The food however? The spaghetti, fries and salad were all quite good. But someone seems to have a problem in not overcooking the meat. On lunch the pork chop was quite difficult to cut, hard to chew, and was not particularly flavorful. On another occasion I got the fried chicken, two piece. I was told it would be a thigh and a breast. It was a thigh and a wing. I didn’t want to wait 30 minutes for a correction so I took it. Way over cooked, dry and tasteless. But for some reason, the Italian kitchen seems quite popular.

I’ve never had a bad meal here. Some of the family make me go to Como’s but they are crazy. IK West has better food and MUCH warmer service. Nice wine selection and even the house wines are good. Hubby and I always order complete meal(soup-minestrone is great, salad — as full as an antipasto tray, entrée — we do full order, and spumoni) and the leftovers last us a long time. Love it and will return again and again.

Food is consistently good, not great, but the friendly and prompt service along with the relaxing atmosphere still makes it a good experience. We go here often since it is in our neighborhood and we have never left disappointed. Reliably good.

Forgettable food. Had wanted to try it, but eh. Will have to look for other options in future.

The overall quality of this restaurant has really gone down. From the food to the service. Use to love it there. Not anymore. I am saddened by this.

The Italian Kitchen West is one of my favorite Italian restaurants in El Paso and in my top 10 for date night. It’s very intimate both inside and out. We just went yesterday for lunch and we both left completely stuffed and with leftovers. Needless to say, the portions are quite large. We were started off with their bread. Their bread is my favorite of all the Italian restaurants in town. I love a good olive oil and balsamic vinegar mixture served with my bread, but IKW serves a buttery garlic bread that is the bee’s knees. Butter and garlic are the way to my heart. Not feeling like I wanted a whole lot of meat, I went with the cheese tortellini with Alfredo sauce. Yum. The tortellini was cooked just so it was soft enough, but still firm enough to not have a grainy texture. The sauce was creamy and just delicious. I ended up shaking some red peppers on top because I just really enjoy a little heat with my white sauces, but that’s just me and it was really good without it anyway. My boyfriend ordered his usual… the Italian Plate. It comes with spaghetti, meatballs, lasagna, and one other pasta that I can’t quite remember. The last time we came I stole a few bites from his plate and it was all very good and I thought the sauce was hearty and flavorful. You can also get the Italian Plate baked for a dollar more. I love the way IKW is decorated. Someone on here described it as «80’s» and I would definitely say it’s 80’s Italian. From the stained glass light shades to the table clothes, I like it all. And like I said it’s intimate, cozy… but a group of 6 – 8 could easily be seated in here. And there’s some seating outside which is on a covered patio so it’s great for even those summer days. About half of the tables have been filled both times we went. Service is a little ehhhh… not bad, just a little slow sometimes. This past time we had to ask for the complimentary bread because our server forgot. So just little things like that, nothing that makes the experience awful. Really, one of my favorite Italian restaurants here. It isn’t too pricey and the portions are large and tasty! Great dinner spot!

Third time here, this time for lunch. Its a hole in the wall all right. Waiter, he was in a foul mood. Absolutely left a sour taste in my mouth, hence maybe why food was off??? I had shrimp pasta, and shrimp were tiny, cheap shrimp. Very disappointed, doubt I will be back.

My husband and I went for an early Valentine’s dinner and were very disappointed. We both ordered chicken marsala and it turned out to be a slop sauce on rubbery chicken. Completely disgusting!

The pasta is very bland. Something youd get fed if you were a prisoner. Except prisoners dont have to pay through the roof.

Since we had tickets to a show at the Plaza Theater, we left early enough to have dinner on the way. The Italian Kitchen was not too far out of the way to stop for dinner. We were very pleased with the service and the food. We started out with side salads which were good. Their house dressing was very good. My wife had the baked spaghetti and I had the spaghetti with pepperoni and meat sauce. Both entrees were tasty. They do have ½ size entrees which is a very nice option. We have no reason not to return again

Neighborhood eatery usually very happy with this place. Very disappointed with today’s service waited over 15 minutes asked for bread which normally is brought out without asking. Service today is really below average aside from our bread nothing to eat for 25 minutes. I will let you know about the food. ~~~~~ I return to edit my reviewFood quality remains excellent although receiving my food 45 minutes after ordering is not acceptable. I definitely enjoyed my green chile lasagna surrounded by a packed place of hearty eaters. Only after inquiring about the delay; I found out that although coming into an empty restaurant there was a large order«to go“in front of mine. A tip to The restaurant please disclose any large orders«to go» or any other delays that may affect your in restaurant customer **especially during the lunch hour. Today I was not in a hurry, but if I would’ve been on my lunch hour this delicious meal would have not been possible. We came in with a party of 4 to an empty restaurant and our order was placed way out of sequence. I totally recommend this local eatery for it’s consistently delicious food, but trust that this delay issue is resolved for future and returning customers.

So so experience. Won’t be going back. Was surprised that the bread they brought out as a starter was simply a buttered burger bun– not worth the calories. The salads that with our meals were quite tasty and fresh, but our entrees were lacking. I had the Chicken Jerusalem which came out quite gummy, making me think it was microwave heated? My husband had spaghetti and meatballs, excuse me, meatball. I’m not quite sure what Italian restaurant serves spaghetti and meatballs with a single meatball, unless it’s huge. Either way, he had the lone, average sized meatball. Our drinks were frequently refilled and the waitstaff was pleasant. Just wish the quality of food was better for such a cute little place. Recommend going across the street for better quality food.

Came for dinner on a busy Friday night, and although it was crowded, we were seated right away. The place is small and not much in terms of décor, but the food is good as well as the service. Our waiter was nice, polite, and fast. My only complaint was that the table top was sticky. Moving on, we ordered a pepperoni pizza and spaghetti. Both delicious! We will definitely return.

best Italian restaurant so far on the west side of town. the staff really makes you feel welcomed and service is on point. This place is great for lunch dates or even dinner dates! two spacious separate rooms can be booked for private dinners or parties. wines, white wines, domestic beers, import beers and draft beers make up the drink menu. all wine is 40% off Monday– Wednesday dine in only!

It was a cold night. I was wearing a dress. Italian Kitchen had a space heater fake fireplace stationed right by my table. The vinyl table cloth trapped the warmth perfectly and I had an awesome warm dinner! Now onto the food. First visit to Italian Kitchen was for pizza and it was great. Then I went back on a diet. It was depressing. I felt like there was nothing to choose from. Now I am a wiser eater and this place has redeemed itself in my eyes. You can get a delicious meatball 2fer appetizer for $ 2.25! The sauce is savory and light. Delicious! We are not Monday night regulars! Well, my parents always were, now I’m just a part of the in crowd ;) This place has great pasta. I don’t think it’s home made or anything, but the texture is good and the sauces are excellent. This isn’t the Olive Garden. This is good, light, savory sauces with that warm happy feeling that lingers in your mouth after each bite. As for my diet, they were nice enough to give me my Veal Parmagiana without cheese or breading. Yeah, I know I ordered cheesy veal without cheese, but I appreciate a restaurant willing to cater to crazy requests. They didn’t offer Veal Marinara, but they made it for me and it was tasty: D
