The Home Depot

This damn place lead to –27,000 stars. They have failed repeatedly over and over.
Cabinet order placed, was told that they were putting us in the system to get called by installers. We were told that they have several people and a system that works much like Angies list and we would be called with options for installers. We placed the order for the amount of cabinets needed for an installer to come out… no one called … no one came. We were also called a week early about our cabinets arrival (great!) however, we don’t live in the area and had to rush into town from out of state because they scheduled us for delivery… we were called and told for delivery 8AM-​10AM … no show… we called to follow up and were told they would deliver curbside some time between 12pm and 10pm. that’s not what we were told not what we were paying for, ended up having to pay our contractor (that we hired because no one called from Home Depot Installers) to go pick up our cabinets in his truck … the mess gets bigger and better! we ordered the cabinets all same size, one came in short, we made due, we ordered the range hood and cabinet and all corresponding parts, well none of that was ordered, like the exhaust hose connecting out of the house, well we had to go back to home depot for that and we encountered another problem. we were sent to the plumbing dept, where we asked the guy specifically for the size of the HOSE he walks us past the appliances and shows us a hood. I said: I need the HOSE 7″ flexible, we have that item already, he proceeds to say that they don’t sell it… I lost it… all the back and forth I had done with the cabinets that day, plus all week we had been in and out of the store gathering all the needed things needed to complete a kitchen remodel, like tile, grout, the spacers, paint, brushes, everything where they had repeatedly made mistakes, charging way too much, charging incorrect items, … and this guy says they don’t sell it, I threw my hands up in the air and said I had had it… Can’t believe it… walked to the aisle where we originated and started going through empty boxes until I came across one box on one of the top shelves with the exact 7″ hose I needed and I went to pay, my husband then gets cut… and we end up at customer service getting a bandaid… and the guy shows up, screaming assuming we were complaining about him… the only question at the point besides the bandaid was about the installers … he shows up yelling over us, in front of an assistant manager, that could have actually gotten physical if he had gotten closer, everyone was there in silence, yes I called him INCOMPETENT… was he lazy, probably… but we spent over 7,000.00 in this store in a week, the very least we could get was the damn hose without the run around and tour of items we already had. I am originally from El Paso, living in CA, and seriously I am used to crap service in California … but Good God… this is the worst…

I don’t usually expect much from Home Depot, but this store falls way under those low expectations. I waited at the online services desk for someone to assist me with a pickup order. No one showed up, so I asked a «worker’ at the returns desk if someone could be called to provide assistance. I was told, «the person behind the online services desk is supposed to help you.’ I told her that I had been waiting, and there was no «person behind the online services desk.» She ignored me, and made no attempt to page someone. I flagged down another worker who made two futile attempts to page someone to the online services desk.
To make matters worse, when I finally had my order brought to the desk (after 15 minutes of waiting), the worker from the warehouse dropped the extremely bulky and heavy item at my feet. I asked him if someone could help me load the item onto a cart. He said, «Sure» and took off, never to return.
Overall, one of the worst experiences one could have at a store.

Lots of good building material choices are available at The Home Depot. The store itself is in a great location; the convenience is good if you are running multiple errands (Steinmart and Walmart are close by). If we don’t find something at Lowe’s, we go to Home Depot. The store personnel are knowledgeable.

Have had some of the best service in this location. Always stocked with items I use for home and business.

It is a pleasure to have to go to this Home Depot even when the reason is to continuously exchange A.C. units. They are helpful, polite and friendly.
I wasn’t sure I wanted to return an extension chord so I found myself in the exchange line. When it was my turn I decided to keep it, and to go ahead and purchase something. I was pleased when I was not requested to go to a regular check out line and was able to purchase it right there.
There’s a lot of places, with employees that love to stick to made up rules just so they can avoid helping you, this Home Depot is not one of those places.

I’ve always loved Home Depot. I can remember my father taking me here to get materials for household projects as a kid. As long as I can remember, they’ve placed an emphasis on customer service. Yesterday was no exception.
My wife and I bought two small window AC units because our apartment has a swamp cooler, and it sucks. Those things should be illegal. But, I digress. When we got the units home and installed, our apt complex told us the living room window wasn’t secure enough to have a unit in, so we’d have to take it down. This really wasn’t a huge deal, because we figured we could just get a more powerful unit, put it in the bedroom and hope for the best.
This is the point that I started cursing myself for throwing away all the packing materials, and basically everything that came with the AC units except the box. But, this turned out to not be an issue. The returns guy at the store was super helpful, and gave us a full refund. The guy working the AC/​fan section took his time an talked to us about our best options.
We ended up leaving with the biggest AC we could safely mount in our window.
Unless something takes a turn for the worst, which it hasn’t in the almost 30 years I’ve been coming here, I’ll probably come to Home Depot for home improvement materials for the rest of my life.
