My son’s birthday party theme was«The Very Hungry Caterpillar». I had made all the preparations and knew I was going to be busy with the set-up the day of the party. I figured it would be easier to have the cake made instead of trying to run around that day and do it all. The problem turned out to be that I could not find a place that would be able to make the cake the way I wanted it to be. Let me explain it to you. .. . I wanted a cake in the shape of a caterpillar made of mounds. I wanted certain colors(to match with the décor). It might sound like I was being particular, but it’s not like I wanted it made for free. Besides, I’d seen round cake molds in craft shops. The kind of molds that are used to make ball-shaped cakes. That’s that I wanted. Not too hard, right? Someone finally suggested that I go to this location because they were supposed to be really great cake makers. Now, keep in mind that my house was on the west side and so this was quite a drive. I went, explained how I wanted the cake, took them a picture of the kind of cake I wanted, I DREW them a picture as well and made it clear that I didn’t want circles, I wanted spheres. Round, not flat. The day of the party, we went to take the cake and it was round cakes. Not the spheres I’d asked for. I was pretty livid because I easily could have done that myself. I explained and there was no apology, no discount, nothing. Again, I wasn’t expecting something for free and I would have appreciated it more if I’d been told that they couldn’t make it. I’d have found another way. By this time, it was too late to make one myself. The party went off without a hitch and everyone loved the theme. I got over it quickly to enjoy the day, but I’d never go here again. I can’t say that I have any complaints about the taste. Still, I had to pay for something I hadn’t asked for.
