Felt like the food was not great for the price. Also pretty skimpy on the BBQ sauce. Not a good thing for BBQ food trucks. Kinda disappointed overall.

What a disappointment! Went there when they had the«food truck festival» about a week ago. The value was so bad that I have to write this as my first review on Unilocal. It’s too bad this review couldn’t be a good one. LI know this may not be the proper method to do this and instead I should’ve complained at the time for such a paltry serving of brisket on the sandwich, but my other half is very nonconfrontational, so I decided against it at the time. But when you only get two small slices of brisket that’s literally dwarfed by and drowning in a bun and then have the audacity to be charged nine dollars for that weak ass sandwich and a couple of fries is an embarrassment. I’ve heard a lot about this truck and the business, but I was greatly disappointed. Will most likely never try it again. If you’re thinking of it don’t waste your time but more importantly don’t throw away your money. I give it 2 stars because it’s really crappy value, even though the food was just okay. Not to say anything about the service, because that was below average.

Finally had the opportunity to try Off the Grill for the first time today. After hearing so much about it I was a bit nervous it wouldn’t live up to the hype and boy am I glad I was wrong! I tried the pulled pork tacos with mango salsa which is seriously AMAZING! The tangy bbq sauce was just the right amount. It didn’t overwhelm the pork. The pork was tender and not at all dry. My only qualm was not enough mango salsa. However that’s just me being greedy bc I could’ve eaten a whole bowl of the salsa alone! Can’t wait to try more of their menu items. Seriously the best food truck meal I’ve had since moving back to EP from Vegas.

This award-winning food truck is a favorite of mine, and I look forward to Mr. Adrian’s continued success! Good Texas-style barbecue can be a challenge to find. Those who appreciate it should stop by and try Off The Grill. While you won’t get a platter of traditional barbecue, you will enjoy a nice meal inspired by and fused with it. I’m a big eater, so I usually gravitate towards the biggest meal I can find. The two-meat sandwich is filling, and the brisket and sausage are tasty. Look for their schedule online, posted weekly on their Facebook page.

Off The Grill was voted the best food truck in the border in 2013 and is quite popular around El Paso. I thought the food was pretty good, but you have to have the right expectations. I think that OTG is a pretty good food truck that serves BBQ-based items and I’m not rating it compared to sit-down BBQ restaurants; you shouldn’t expect it to be an alternative to places like State Line or Famous Dave’s. Their menu is pretty straightforward, mostly sandwiches or tacos made with one or more of their BBQ meats, but their most popular item, and the one they recommend, is the Pulled Pork Cheese Fries, they had me at «Pulled.» I really liked them, the fries golden soft(which I prefer), not crispy fried and they are pretty decent size, none of that thin fry crap, they have lots of cheese and mixed with the BBQ sauce it makes for a nice tangy flavor. Because I have no self-control, I also ordered the sausage bites, which I found out is their second most popular item. It’s a plate of sliced sausage drenched in BBQ sauce, which for the record I did share with another person. We weren’t blown away by them, but they were okay, I’m just really picky about the sausages I put in my mouth. I would definitely recommend getting the fries over the bites if you are a normal person that only orders one thing.
I do have to mention that the OTG folks were very friendly and personable, though there was a line I didn’t feel rushed when it was my time to order, which is not uncommon at food trucks and stands. They were even nice enough to pose my food on the counter while I took photos of it, because I’m that kind of person. I found them at the Chamizal Memorial Park, check their facebook page to find their current location.
