Great sushi! Affordable prices. Fast service. Friendly service. Clean bathrooms. This restaurant is a great value! It’s awesome the Northeast has grub like this.

This was my second time here and I must say, it is absolutely great. The atmosphere was great and the waitstaff was very attentive. The food was absolutely fantastic. I am pleased to find such excellent sushi place close to home. If you want great sushi that won’t break the bank, I advise you to give Hamachi a try. You won’t regret it.

It’s not terrible but it’s not good either. It’s more like a Mexican fusion restaurant. My Alaska roll was wrapped in aluminum foil… never saw that before

Very small portions for the price. A couple years ago we dined in and every persons dish was brought out individually over the course of an hour and we were the only customers in the restaurant. The food was just so-so. Tonight we decided to try them again for carryout, based largely on recent reviews, hoping that things have changed. No such luck. The portions are still way to small for the price considering other options in the area. Also the teriyaki chicken tasted like liquid smoke, ketchup and onion rings that were cooked in cold oil. Not a single hint of pineapple or sake. Over $ 70 and all 4 of us are talking about ordering pizza cuz we are all still hungry. At this point I wouldn’t even take a free meal from this place.

Great place to go for sushi. I’ve been a few times the sushi was delicious and the prices were decent. Nice atmosphere for lunch, not a fancy dinner spot though. The waitresses are always polite although sometimes service is very slow even when its not busy. So far its my favorite sushi spot in El Paso.

Went here for lunch one day. There were only 3 other tables of people and they all had food already. Sat down and immediately was given a menu and drinks from what seemed like the only waitress for everyone. Cool, but then a lot of time passed and the waitress never came back to ask for our order. I had to walk up to the sushi counter to get my order taken. :(not cool… What saved the experience was the sushi! Had the Cali roll, Lion King roll, miso soup, salad, and veg tempura. All tasted GREAT! I was pleasantly surprised. If I had that kind of service with a slow lunch crowd, I’m scared to brave the dinner crowd! Will probably return for to-go orders when I need my sushi fix.

So to be fair I’ve recently moved from Hawaii so the my sushi standards are a little higher now… this place was«ok» restruant was minimal seemed to be more for lunch but the staff did a great job working with us so no complaints there. The sushi itself was«ok». Rice was not on point and watching them Pull the seafood from the packs was a little hard to witness… however we are in the desert so I have to e fair. I was not a huge fan but my wife enjoyed the roll she had so all and all decent experience

In my experience, this sushi place is one of the best in El Paso. I had many many many sushi in big cities and this place can be compared to one of my favorite sushi restaurant in LA. I love their hungry roll and the tropical roll. One downside is that they close on Sundays.

I thought this was a great restraunt the cowboy roll was delicious and considering the soup and salad it was a good place in northeast El Paso which isn’t much in the way of small restraunts.

Best sushi in northeast El Paso, at least from what I’ve found so far. However, for the price it’s really not life-changing. It’s a solid sushi fix though. Our fave is the 911 Roll, which has jalepeno on top. The Jessica Roll and the Lemon Roll are also good choices. Almost everything has a «California Base» which means a imitation crabmeat filling, and I find that rather repetitive and boring. But it’s a good bet for sure! Decent miso soup and udon. It’s kind of expensive. Even picking up to go it’s hard not to spend $ 50 to feel two adults a kid.

I give it 5 because I love sushi but it’s kinda hard to get quality in El Paso. Some places have runny wasabi or just basic rolls. They have not only basic rolls but the«fancy» ones as well. I love the mountain roll. It’s not ur typical roll since its rolled with lettuce and not rice and its huge. If u like sushi try this place out. Not too many like it on dyer.

Man, this place is legit. In the past few visits my wife and I have been very pleased with the quality, price, and service. I’m into sashimi; and this place don’t disappoint. The rolls here are delightful as well — I would recommend the Lion King Roll and the Hunger Roll, just to name a few. I could probably eat eight of em’ in one sitting if I was allowed. Just overall great.

Good service, good food. The menu is really hard to read– red on black in a too-small font. The dining room has a nice theme going on, but needs attention– floors are super sticky(eewwww), and a bunch the deco lights ate burned out. This is a small place– 10 tables and a six-seater sushi bar. My waitress was great, and had good rapport with the chefs who made just what I wanted with lovely presentation. To get another star, fix the dining room dings, including paint patches. –3 days later — my shoes are still sticky from those floors. ugh!

Recently moving back to the Northeast, I am constantly re-exploring a part of town I always thought I knew backwards and forwards. Since moving from the Northeast I’ve come to the realization that the Northeast is good for one thing, and one thing only… hole-in-the-walls. And I love HITWs as much as the next guy, but it’s nice to stumble upon a good sushi place or café in the NE once in awhile. I spent the better part of my childhood stealing Skittles from the candy dispensers(jiggle twice to the right and once to the left) that was located inside the previous restaurant at this particular spot and have watched this place change ownership, management, staff and names. The NE seems to have ever revolving restaurants(usually with the same concept), but if you can stick it out longer than a year, you’re probably here to stay. And I can happily say that I think Hamachi is one that will be around for years. My trip wasn’t perfect, but the sushi roll I ordered was pretty close to flawless and if I was rating on the sushi alone they would’ve earned a 4 star rating, easy. From the outside, Hamachi Sushi looks sharp. Not necessarily like you’re going in for the most expensive meal you’ve ever had, but generally put together… giving the feel that you’ll have a rather pleasant evening in an authentic Japanese eatery. Walking in I still felt the«pleasant» vibe, but looking around I realized I was in a dressed-up HITW. Somehow this brought my comfort level way up. And as an added bonus, they do have about six or seven small private rooms. We were immediately greeted by the sole server, a sweet and quick paced woman. We chose our seats near the back and requested two iced teas. The teas came out and while I do think they were brewed in house(but maybe not), I thought they were a tad insipid so the addition of a Splenda sugar packet was necessary. No Sweet’n Low to be found on any table, though. Since my dining partner wasn’t all about that sushi life(we’re working on that), he opted to get the Beef Teriyaki while I went with the Dragon Roll… cause you know, eel. The menu didn’t specify whether they use Unagi or Anago, but Unagi seems to be the go-to for sushi in EP so I’m making the assumption. First came the salad and the miso soup. The miso soup was weak and tasted ridiculously watered down. The tofu pieces were small, but acceptable. I only had two small pieces of nori and so overall I was very underwhelmed with what is usually my favorite starter. The salad had a very citrus-y dressing that was just okay. Not really the best start to a meal, but as soon as the roll came out I was immediately happy. The Dragon Roll was delish! Trying to get my Unilocal sushi badge, I’ve upped my sushi eating in the past week(had to catch up to Jason J.) and have ate a ridiculous amount of eel in the form of Dragon and Caterpillar rolls in that time and can without a doubt say that HS serves up top notch thinly-sliced eel. The eel was soft and topped with a bit of tempura flakes as well as a touch of eel sauce. The tempura shrimp was cooked correctly and every ingredient in the roll was fresh. While I was disappointed in two seemingly simple dishes, their sushi is very impressive and HS will more than likely become a weekly ritual for me. Prices were beyond reasonable so it’s great that it won’t be too hard on my wallet to sustain this sushi-lovers lifestyle in the NE. And their Bento boxes were for super-cheaps so that’s definitely on my «must try» list.

Best sushi I’ve ever had. Fresh and the presentation was beautiful. Had the mochi green tea ice cream and it was sweet and refreshing. The hunger roll and lion king roll are delicious! If you are ever in northeast el paso, THIS is the place to go!!!
