Great American Land & Cattle

Unfortunate choice of resultant. They served us at different times some of us ate about an hour after others in our group. The drink orders were messes up and somehow they «forgot» about ½ off wine, but made the correction when asked about it. It would have been ok, but it happened to more than one of us in the group. But the most egregious problem was that the meat on at least three of our plates was raw. I like rare, but this was raw. The music was good and the atmosphere was what you would expect from a steak house, but the food was inexcusable. This was my first visit and my last.

This restaurant isn’t too bad, I had the chicken sandwich and it was okay. The waitress was very nice and refilled waters quickly which is always good. The bar was an average bar, nothing to boast about. Overall there are other places I’d probably go but it wasn’t terrible.

I don’t know how you can mess up a steak but they did it here. I’m pretty sure I ate runny easy mac. Then the waitress questioned me when I asked to split the check between my friend and I.

Service was great but I ordered chicken nachos for $ 8. Movie (processed nachos are better)

I really enjoyed the Steak Burger and the Rib Eye Sandwich. Both were full of flavor unlike meat from other places like California where we have to Sauce Up the meat so it tastes good. Also, Beans and Slaw were pretty good. Waiting to go back in Sept 2015 to enjoy some mo good BBQ.

Horrible food! Never ever again. Steak tasted bland as it was bought from frozen section at Walmart! I definitely would warn anyone to not waste your time. You have being warn!

The sausage appetizer had a great bbq sauce and my medium rare steak burger was cooked perfectly. My wife had the 10 oz top sirloin which was also cooked well and the entrees came with big bowls of slaw and beans. Fast and efficient service

Was looking for a Steak and found it, Most delicious place we’ve been at yet! Great presentation and the food was just as great! Got the Top Sirloins, the Beef brisket, and the steakburger! All amazing! I would definitely come back to the restaurant!

Service was awful! There were no managers walking and asking how service was which sucked because there was no accountability. My meal was brought after everyone finished eating. I still got charged for it. By then I didn’t even enjoy it since I was so upset. Funny thing when she took our order she didn’t write it down (we were a table of 8) and I told her «you are good, you don’t even have to write it down» HA!
Any way, needless to say I won’t be back!

This was the worst steak I have ever paid so much for. The sirloin steak looked like a thin piece of steak meat you would use in a thin steak sandwich. What ever happened to those delicious steaks we used to get at great American land & cattle. I was so surprised. Will never go there again. When you go to a steak house you expect a good steak not a piece of shit… don’t waste your money … go to road house. delicious steaks there. Oh by the way terrible swrvuce. Waiters too busy talking…

One of the pros was they were able to accommodate our group of 21 on time with reservations, but that is about where things start dropping off.
First why so they think ONE server for a table of 21 is going to cut it, let alone he was also servicing a table of about 10. Several orders came out wrong for example person ordered Rib Eye and was given Sirloin, two very different cuts of meat.
They gave us two small bowls of beans and coleslaw, once again for a table of 21. One of our tables was so wobbly people were hesitant to put their drinks on it. The server did what he could and really no fault on his own, the managers and owner really need to take a look at how they are providing service.
Food was okay and a 3 star rating, i had a 16oz sirloin and my son had a burger. From the time I sat down at 6:05 to when I received my food about 90 min had elapsed.

After being seated at a table for four initially, the waitress asked us if we would rather have a booth, so being that I always try to request a booth… we obliged. Our waiter wasn’t too friendly but we don’t know if he was fairly new to working there or just customer service is not the greatest. I ordered a sirloin and mashed potatoes. My boyfriend ordered the steak and lobster. I expected a steak that is more the norm… thick and tender. I didn’t realize it was going to be more flat ironed. The mashed potatoes seemed more like they’ve been prepped for hours and not so much a mash as a gob. The roll was okay, but no offering of butter for it. The saving grace to our whole meal was… wait for it… THE BEANS!!! Spicy and good flavoring!
I said that I would come there just for the beans alone. No steak. I was somewhat disappointed, but made sure to eat the magical fruit.

This place says they close at 10:00pm. The doors were even open. But when we got inside, they told us they were closed. We got here at 9:00pm.

Meat was juicy and flavorful. Food was delivered hot and quick. Beer was cold. Only thing was the dinner rolls, they were rock hard but they apologized and brought fresh rolls

This is not the best steak restaurant in El Paso however this place is really known for their burgers. I usually find the service to be fairly good. Not excellent but better than average. The sirloin special has great flavor and is tender. It is served as a thin «sheet» of meat, this a cultural phenomenon found south of the border. No complaints here for $ 9.99 you get 10 once serving of steak plus a large baked potato, and all the beans and pineapple coleslaw you can eat.
I also recommend the steak burgers which are thick juicy and tender. Prices are affordable and the atmosphere is pleasant.
I do recommend this place come here occasionally. Rated this only three stars because service can be inconsistent.

We had a table of 4 for dinner tonight, a quiet Monday night, sounds pretty easy, right? Wrong! There was a large table who had already been served their food, so we didn’t think there would be a problem. All 4 of us ordered the Steak Burger special and it took about an hour for us to get our food. Our waiter couldn’t have cared less about us having to wait. Our waters were not filled while we waited either. Once we did get our food, it wasn’t even warm. We tried to find a manager to talk to, but no one was in sight. The waiter couldn’t get us out of there fast enough. It was just uncomfortable and discouraging. I’ve been to this location many times and never had this bad of service. It breaks my heart to give this review because Great American has always had one of my favorite burgers. I’ll just stick to the other locations!

Wanted a Steak but was lured by the delicious sound of a Steak Burger! The Steak Burger did not disappoint… However, they charge extra for each topping… I got Mushrooms & Onions… well the Onions were Raw! I at least expected GRILLED ONIONS for an additional .99! That was ridiculous! Also, the Steak Fries that come withe the Burger are horrible. I actually sent the first batch back because they were hard and tough… the 2^nd batch was Ok… but almost tasted freezer burnt. I think this restaurant might be ok for Takeout, but I can do without the Mexican lady wailing/​singing the whole time.

On my first and hopefully only visit here I ordered a sirloin steak with steak fries. I ordered my steak medium well. I get my steak and it was medium. But what blew my mind was it looked more like sheet of meat. It wasn’t like the sirloin you get at any other steakhouse. Instead of sending it back and risk getting it back well done, or possibly spit on, I ate it as is. The steak fries were actually good; as was the coleslaw with pineapple.
The service was pretty slow. They seemed too much into their own personal conversations.
Price: this place is more expensive than Texas Roadhouse or Logan’s. which both happen to be much better.
Avoid

Wife and I stopped in for dinner, I’ll tell you the steak was cooked perfect, and the beer was they way they should be cold!
My wife had the lobster tail and steak combo and devoured it, Fist time here and we loved it. Can’t wait to stop in El Paso again at this location.

Having to travel on Mother’s Day for work, we chose a steak joint. They were looping episodes of America’s most funny videos, that kept our interest through the famishing wait.
Meal arrival 45 minutes later, no drink refills offered. Ok, the steak was good. I had major issues with the Broccoli casserole, I didn’t think it was made with rice with breadcrumbs and devoid of cheese. The sweet potato fries (freezer burned) were just nasty. The redeeming dish was their beans! Muy Bueno! I am sure there are better steak houses in El Paso.
