I went to buy eggs and this fat ugly lady gave me my change wrong. She gave me change for $ 5 dollar went I paid which $ 20. Never going back to this stupid store.

This place is freaking awesome. You need to go here if you want good beer. My husband really enjoys going here because of the good beer selection. (Stone, German beers, Port Brewing, Lost Abbey, etc.)

It’s rare that I find a place like this liquor store. At first it looks like a run of the mill corner liquor store. You go inside and you see the large quantity of stuff condenced into a small place. They have a little of everything.
What really makes this place special to me is that often times, when I go in there and the owners seem to have compasion. If some kid is missing a dime or a quarter he tells him that he’ll cover him but that he owes him next time. If it’s more money he says to come and do some work to pay it off. The owners aren’t a bunch of penny pinchers with a stick up their ass, they care and that makes the difference to me.
Oh and their large selection of drinks and chips for the munchies is good.

I have lived in El Monte for about 15 years and this place was here before me. I used to know some workers here before it was sold to the new owners. I did miss the old format of the store being smaller and I think a little better organized.
I can think being a kid going to the movies and stopping here for candy for the movies or loading up on raven’s revenge (you remember that). Now that I have gotten older and have moved up to alcohol this place is good. Since they changed owners they made it bigger to give it more of a mini mart than a liquor store. Yet you can some cheap booze when in a pinch. Also it is one of the few liquor stores in this area that sells Thunderbird, Cisco and night train wine. That is some pretty harsh stuff for being on a budget. They also have a big selection of finer liquor behind the counter.
Since the owner change I gave it 3 stars if they still had the old owners I would have given them a 4 star.
