Was locked out of my condo before I had to leave for an important meeting. Of course. After failed attempts to reach about three other locksmiths in the neighborhood, I called these guys up and a tech was here in about half an hour. Despite me expressing that I was in a rush to get going, the surly tech(who stunk of cheap cologne and had no uniform/ID badge) gave me a lecture on my selection of lock, even after I explained I just rent the place. He jiggled the lock in frustration, saying he would have to replace the lock entirely and offered to do it under the table outside of the company if I paid cash because the company would just rip me off. Um, no thanks, just get me in so I can leave!(The metal screen door was left unlocked and I have two German Shepherds so I felt that was enough to secure the place before contacting the landlord for a new lock.) After drilling the lock open, he offered to clean up the mess of metal shavings on the floor. I declined, grabbed my keys and locked the metal screen door. When writing out the payment at my car’s hood, he snubbed my check because it was from a credit union, thus not«a real bank.» Really? Not having the time to waste my breath on arguing the point, I offered another check from Wells Fargo, which he was fine with and requested I make it out to «Cash» instead of the company. I was desperate to jump into traffic to meet my client, so I complied. Made it to my meeting on time(hence the two stars), but definitely paid for my mistake. Given the choice and liberty of time, I’d go elsewhere next time.
