Being that I lived here for so long and went to El Monte High School where this restaurant is across from, I’m surprised I’ve never gone here before. Silly me for not coming here sooner because the food here is delicious and the people working here are real nice. I came here with two friends of mine who had some experience here before. Now since pupusas basically just look like puffy tortillas I figured I could eat a bunch more than that. Much to my surprise is that one is really filling. I ordered a meal they included a tamales, one pupusa, eggs, chorizo and some fried bananas. Each thing was great and their tamales are one of the better ones I’ve ever had, although I haven’t had a lot of tamales to really give a proper comparison. The pupusa is the real hero of this meal though and they have a good amount of selection where it comes to what’s inside of it. Can’t really go wrong with the cheese and pork and I can see myself coming here more and more frequently in the future. Highly recommend.

The food is good, very tasty, BUT… They take sooooo long! I ordered plantains, beans with cream and 1 pupusa. I’ve been waiting 54min. Literally! I arrived almost an hour ago, and have only received my water. If you plan on eating here. Bring a snack and plan on a long wait. Would have been 5 stars if not for the wait

This place has really great pupusas. It is made fresh to order, so it may take a little longer to receive your food. However nothing beats a hot off the grill, fresh pupusa. I last gave this place a 3 and ½. I am going to give it a solid 4 now. After trying other pupuserias, this has been the best by far. The pupusas are big and the filling inside is good as well. If you order a ruevelta con frijols, you don’t get a pupusa filled with beans and are unable to taste the chicaron or cheese. I have been ordering the ruevelta(chicharon and cheese) lately and they are even better than the ones with beans, and those are the ones I have always had. The food is a plus, but the service is hit or miss. We always get Odelia as our waitress and she is awesome. Whenever we have her, she is on it. When she isn’t there, service is not as good. One time my g/f and I came in during her lunch break. We came in and it was very busy. Our normal waitress wasn’t there and the owner was there looking very stressed and upon seeing how busy it was, we discussed taking it to go instead of eating in, the least we could do was get our order in. The owner saw us and told us to have a seat. My g/f let him know she had 40 minutes, and he said okay. We sat down and 20 minutes later, no one came to even take our order. We left because we didn’t have enough time. Odelia is awesome.

Delicious pupusas! It’s very hard to find a Salvadorean restaurant with authentic food. Pupusas aren’t the easiest to make and if aren’t done right, they don’t taste good!(Trust me, I know lol) but this place is on point! I got the pupusa de queso con loroco & the revuelta one & they were huge, fresh and delicious! I also got a tamal de pollo which was huge, soft & did I mention, delicious?! Lol I would recommend it to anyone who is in the area but please know that pupusas take a really long time to make so you will wait a while. If you’re in a hurry, call ahead. Most Salvadorean restaurants have this option because they know it takes a long time. I already know this, so I came prepared to wait & it was worth it! Also, this is not a Mexican restaurant. Don’t come in looking for authentic Mexican food because you won’t get that here. It clearly says Salvadorean! & they clearly have a sign that says the food preparation takes a long time. Don’t be negative if you can’t read lol

Phone Ordered 10 pupusas. Lady on the phone said my order would be ready in 20 mins. I show up to the restaurant and my order wasn’t ready. People kept walking in and getting their orders before me. By this time I’m annoyed and ready to walk out but I had paid for my order when I had walked in. I could’ve asked for my money back but wasn’t willing to wait at another restaurant. The pupusas were good and decent size. I would go back just not if I’m pressed with time or if I’m starving.

This is not a taco shop. And the drive thru is not a drive thru. And the Carne asada burrito you might think you recognize on the menu is not what you would expect elsewhere. Trying to get that information from the lovely young lady behind the counter is like pulling teeth. English, nor Spanish seems to be the language here. Park next door at the uniform shop. Careful exiting to Peck road from the drive thru that isn’t a drive thru anymore. Bring Salsa fresca and hot sauce from home so you can have some flavor with your grease. Sorry for all the negativity. Super nice people. Not easy to communicate with, but nice manners. Wouldn’t recommend eating here. Guess an empty«not a taco shop» at lunch time, should have been my first clue.

Pupuserias were very greasy and bland. Service was good. I did enjoy the horchata which is different from Mexican horchata. Different but delicious. I don’t plan on going back.

Don’t get me wrong… These are some of the best pupusas I have had. I like the«rebueltas» which is cheese and chicharron. i would give it another star but I dislike the fact everytime I call in an order for take out(due to limited lunch time) i still end up waiting for up to 20 minutes at the restaurant. They aopear to have trust issues with phone orders and don’t make your food until you arrive… Or maybe they forget? Who knows, the point is: its annoying!

First time I had pupusas was at this restaurant. Love their Tuesday special of only $ 1.99 a pupusa! Restricted to certain flavors but the popular ones are on the list. They are so filling, my limit is 2. The only way to eat them is to pile on the pickled cabbage and drench it with the red sauce. The combination creates the perfect flavors and a little spice. Have to call in to order ahead of time since they are made to order and there is usually only one person making them. Definitely take advantage of their Tuesday specials!

Horrible service at this Pupuseria!!! Waited for 45 min after, I order only 3 pupusas and they never service them therefore, I got up pay for the two horchatas and left. Sad but if they have a restaurant open the service is expected for excellence. I will not go back to this place ever again

Small little family owned restaurant located on peck rd. Parking can be limited because the lot is not that big. I’m not sure if it was me but when you walk into the restaurant, it had that bad smell like homeless, stinky smell. Even my BF could smell it too. The smell went away afterwards. We ordered 2 pupusas because they have specials on Tuesday for $ 1.99. we got pork and cheese pupusas and the other one(thats not on special) was the lorco herb/flower with cheese that was $ 2.90. They are huge! Bigger than the ones we usually have. It was so cheesy and good! You have to eat it while its hot! Cold pupusas are not good. Top it with some cabbage and the red sauce=perfect! My BF wanted breakfast so he ordered the casa miento comes with scrambled eggs, bananas, crème, substite with refried beans and a side of cheese. Pretty good for the price of $ 10.95. The Ensalada drink was pretty good. But it really looked like cocktail juice and the put ice over it. But overall, staff is nice and the food is not too bad. Give it a try. The pupusas are a for sure win!

Really good pupusas huge and yummy ! At little spendy but they are worth how big they are. If you usually end up having left overs like me I would go with the revultas still amazing the next day tried the chicken and cheese ones too but weren’t so great once heated up again. And the tamales weren’t to my liking but I’m not much for the salvadorian tamales the garbanzo beans kinda caught me off guard.

The pupusas are big and delicious. They don’t skimp on the stuffing and the prices are reasonable. The food is always great. So why not 5 stars? Because they only have one waitress doing serving and cashing and the food takes a bit to come out, but again, the food is well worth it. My other complaint would be that the salsa is way too spicy and I like spicy but this is just too much.

Well when I came it I couldn’t help noticing that I was the only one eating here that is not a worker for almost an hour… don’t know how they make business but if its been here a while I guess it must be good… I had the bad choice of getting somthing they are not known for I guess. I got there chicken burrito and I wasn’t a fan about the onions being there, I guess I should have read the menu. The horchata did not taste like the one I usually would taste. Overall if you would ask me the questions«would I come back here to eat again» I would say«probably not, not unless a friend take me here or somthing but on my own, nope, sorry» Mayb if I come again I’ll try what they are known for, in other words, don’t get there burritos.

The food was delicious. We ordered yuca frita con chicharron, queso con loroco, revuletas con frijol and chicken pupusas. To drink we got the ensalada and to go we got the atol de elote. All was very delicious and our server was very attentive. Will return :)

The pupusas are huge and moderately priced! They’re really good; however, there is only one server/cashier. The poor girl is running all over the place, not knowing how to split off her tables. They definitely need a second server. I am not sure if this happens regularly, but I observed other disgruntled customers. Patience is key! Enjoy the pupusas! :)

I really love the pupusas here! They are quite filling. I usually can eat 3 or 4 small to medium sized pupusas, but here I can barely finish 2. The salsa and curtido are good. Their breakfast(casamiento) was big! They gave lots of plantains, which was a very pleasant surprise! Highly recommend! So tasty!

$ 2.65 for chicken and cheese papusa. I liked the chicken and cheese more than the fried pork and cheese papusa. On tuesdays, the $ 2.65 papusas are $ 1.99. There are zucchini and cheese papusas and those are pretty good too but theyre a «premium» papusa at $ 2.99 The el salvadorian tamales here are pretty good too. Do not get the«sweet» tamales. Not a particular fan. A little dry. Tastes like corn bread.
