I came in at random after Unilocaling and seeing they had queso frita. They did not disappoint, Hawaiian taco and queso frita y platano frito con crema… sooo bomb. I will be coming back.

the meat portion here is great, they have carne asada, riblets, fish, shrimp fresh cheese(cotija my fav) whole or shreeded and they are very nice & friendly. Produce i have not been so happy with and is a bit over priced, understandable since they are a small business. otherwise i love their diff chip options and the dinner plates are good too. its close to my house always nice to just pick up a plate to go, get home like my mom made my dinner. but def go for the cerniceria.
Stopped by because I was lost. I live in stuck up OC. I’ve never been treated so nice at a grocery store. I ordered food and the lady behind the counter was a sweetheart. I used the restroom and the behind the scenes areas are spotless and smell clean. I was acknowledged by all three employees that made eye contact with me asking me if I was fine =) the lady behind the food counter is a customer service star! Handmade tortilla with my order and they have reasonably priced meals that taste good and authentic. Chiles fritos available. I encourage anyone in the area to check this out =)

Good Nicaraguan food on the weekends. The yucca could have been cooked a little more but the chicharrones were excellent. The market even carries a variety of beers including Tona.

El Gallito fits into the category of unsatisfactory. I came here with my dad to grab some tamales because it caught our interest. Finding parking is easy. We went in and it’s very clean inside. However, the prices are not great. The food is way too oily. It’s very salty. And the drinks are two sweet. I found out that they’re artificial too so it was a turn off. They also take a long time to give you your food. This place is not on my top list for Mexican and Central American cuisine. This is one of the places where you’ll hit or miss. You either love it or hate it. You can try it and see if you like it. Definitely not a healthy choice at all which is why I give it merely two stars.

The place is nice and organized. Very clean. The reason it I gave it 3 stars is because being a Mexican restaurant, they serve awful enchiladas! The sauce is no good. Literally tasted like they just cut a bunch of tomato, squeezed them till they got really watery, and added them to the tortillas with a little salt. Honestly, no taste of spice at all! Really watered down. On the other hand, the side dishes were great. The beans were good and the salad was also great. My wife enjoyed her huarache, and her little brother enjoyed his tacos de asada. Overall experience: Good but I don’t recommend the enchiladas.

Randomly found this place and actually really enjoyed the tacos. They are pretty big and had a great fresh taste to them.

:) The tacos are pretty good for the small price you pay for them. You can choose from a good variety of meat, too. When can you ever get a lunch for less than three bucks these days, anyway?

I like this spot. Really CLEAN market and restuarant combo. Great breakfast burritos, pupusas, tacos, carnitas combo and burritos! mMMmm . Wed & Fri are $ 1 for 2 tacos and Thurs are $ 1 Pupusas. HEhehehe. love it. Horchata here is kinda sweet but addicting. Be careful not to order the Medium drink. because it’s REALLY big. .well, unless your a big gulp kind of person. then maybe it’s perfect. Personally, the small size for drinks here .is enough. Overall, i like this spot. Clean and good. =)

**Great Food and Friendly Staff** This little Groceria is mainly a supplier for taco trucks in the area, but does have a great taqueria inside. They have the full range of food combinations one would expect along with a few embelishments. This includes being able to choose which part of the meat you would like(i.e. leg, thigh, snout ;) as well as a wide range of spicy peppers and salsas. My own personal favorite are the Carne Asada Hawaiian tacos. The reason why it didn't get a five star is because the ordering procedure is a bit complicated(take ordering receipt to cashier then back to kitchen) and also a language barrier with the employees(spanish only). Also, getting ice in your fountain drinks is a special order located at a different part of the store. The place is spacious and has outside seating. All-in-all, a good place to eat.

Came here after the recommendation of the friend. Was mostly interested in trying their pupusas since that’s one of my latest food obsessions. They don’t make them fresh here so they’re not as fluffy as places that do make them fresh but for the price($ 1 on Thursdays, $ 1.50 on all other days) it’s not a bad deal. They only make two types: chincharron(pork) and queso(cheese). I tried ordering the barbacoa tacos but those are only available on the weekend so instead tried the lengua taco. Meat was moist and tender and didn’t have a funky smell/after taste that I was afraid of. They don’t really speak English here but between my broken Spanish and their broken English I was able to get what I wanted. Will return to try the barbacoa tacos.

I have passed by El Gallito thousands of times before. I finally decided to give it a try. It is a deli-style restaurant. When you walk in you have the deli to the left, the meat market in the back, and the groceries on your right. The place is really clean and the colors in the store give it a little extra Mexican flare. I was a little worried coming here for lunch. I hate going somewhere new for lunch. But the food was really good and it was really presentable. I was expecting some Styrofoam plates, but they arrived in decorative colored plates. Since it was my first time, I try to get a little variety. I was in the mood for tacos along with rice and beans. I ordered a carne asada taco, a carnitas taco and a lengua(tongue) taco. Everything was pretty good. The only thing I did not like but was still eatable was the tacos de asada. The meat was ok. The seasoning they used was what ruined the flavor. It was kind of salty. A little extra onions and cilantro helped. The carnitas tacos were real good. They were fresh and crunchy on the outside. Not dry and not to greasy. The lengua taco was also delicious. It was nice and flavorful. It was real soft and tender and not real chewy like other places. I think I found myself a new spot for some Mexican food. Hopefully others can agree. Prices were very reasonable. Parking was real ample as well. *I uploaded a menu as well.
