I’ve bought this at Asian American Expo. It’s not as good as I thought it would taste. I wanted to try because it seems neat, the way the chef pulls the string candy so think that it becomes white(originally tan color) and becomes thin and is wrapped with peanuts, sesame, and/or coconut. It looks like a moth in a white fuzzy cocoon LOL. When the white Dragon Whiskers is left over night, the texture becomes harder than it was freshly made. It’s pretty pricey too. It was $ 5 for a box. I got 3 boxes. One box with just peanuts, other one sesame, and another one mixed with peanuts, sesame, and coconut. The best out of the 3 would be the mixed flavor. Other ones are too dry for my mouth. esp the peanuts. You can give it a try to see how you like it. But for me, I didn’t like it or the taste. And especially, it’s pretty darn expensive for 6 little bite-sized Dragon Whiskers candy.

Very very cool! He gave us a demonstration and was super nice and incredibly skilled! Delish as well! The«whiskers» melt in your mouth and you get a taste of the malt candy and sweet filling(ie. peanuts!)

I’ve always seen this at chinese festivals since I was young. Anyhow this is a type of sugar thingie with nuts inside. I would categorize something more of middle east but instead of filo, cotton candy like threads are used to build the outside of the candy. If you haven’t tried it on out, it’s novel and different so why not give it a try?

I had this when I was a kid at the Hong Kong Supermarket in Monterey Park, CA. I remember it was a little push cart that they were selling from and my mom bought me and my brother some. It was so good, I can’t wait to have some more when I can buy some and share with with my own daughter and future kids one day.

I found this place at Monterey Park Chinese New Year Festival. Dragon whiskers? Oooo it looks like the fuzzy chinese candy I like. you know the soft«cotton candy-like» but with hairy texture. People were crowding this stall and I got myself a box of dragon whiskers. 8 light-as-air candy for $ 5.00. I got the peanut flavor ones. Whoa.this is not the same candy. This candy is so sticky. Kinda good because I am used to the flavor but it’s probably an acquired taste for others. 3.5 stars! Dragon Whiskers Candy is kinda yummylicious!
