Great old school breakfast slingers. Cooks are real pros who take pride in their work. Chile Relleno top notch. Standard eggs over with hash browns at just right crispy level and a freshly cooked sausage patty very tasty. Like the self serve setup with tea and coffee. Must do if you don’t mind counter seating.

Best breakfast food in the valley. I now eat here a couple weekends a month just because the food is consistent and delicious. Takeout or dine in just be willing to wait for a table if they’re busy.

Breakfast in America used to be my go-to restaurant on my way to or from Aspen. Both the food and service use to be excellent. Unfortunately it won’t be somewhere I recommend anymore. I stopped in on 11⁄1 after a fun Halloween at The Belly UP. It was busy but nothing a good waitress couldn’t handle. First we were completely ignored. Then after barely acknowledging our presence, the waitress almost immediately gave our table away to a family that just arrived. They seemed to know each other. After sitting down, the waitress didn’t bother to explain the self-serve drink situation(water/coffee). I had to tell the other diners. My chili rellano omelette was decent but for some reason it was swimming in water. The hash browns were over cooked and extremely greasy. It took longer to get our check and get it paid than it did for our entire meal. We had to flag the waitress down for every step of the meal. She seemed to be serving the hispanic clientele much better than our table of gringos.

What a great find in this little town. It’s a small place(maybe 500SF) with seating around the kitchen — so U shaped bar — with seating for 20 or so. Huge portions and the best Hash Browns I’ve had in a very long time. Lots of choices for hot sauces and home made chipotle sauce. I had the Denver Omlette and it was awesome — so huge I couldn’t finish it and my friends had the huervos rancheros breakfast which they were raving about. Awesome service and definitely recommend stopping in if you are hungry and want a super breakfast.

Had a super limited amount of time to grab a bite while driving between Aspen and Denver. Found this place and was NOT disappointed– plus I let them know we were on a time crunch and they were very accommodating. The food was awesome– the cooking all happens in the center of the dining room with open flames– very cool to watch! It also made everything they cooked taste out of this world. The coffee is self serve which was actually really cool. No waiting for refills and they had a little«espresso» machine(a cheapy one like you find at the gas station, but I actually have a soft spot for gas station lattes, so it worked for me). The toast was thick cut and each table had some home made jam. I’d be happy to go back there on my next Aspen trip!

Might be the best breakfast I’ve ever had. I ordered the fried rice and eggs and was not disappointed. It was a bit expensive, portions larger than necessary and very few seats(hence the four instead of five stars), however the food was cooked right in front of you and absolutely delicious! The choices on the menu are unique and creative. You can get your own unlimited coffee, hot chocolate and chai. I would make a special trip here again. Just be patient for a seat.

Best huevos rancheros anywhere! This place is a prime candidate for diners drive-ins and dives. I like my huevos rancheros with Christmas sauce, half green and half red. That being said, there are pork green chili is the best you’ll find anywhere.

I have been there twice. The first time we ate there. The service was terrible. it took almost twenty minutes to be acknowledged after being sat and we were given our meals before our drinks. After eating tasteless food and biscuits whipped beyond belief with bland gravy our plates were taken with no concern on how our meal was. We waited another 20 min for our bill, I went in to find her sitting inside reading the paper. Terrible visit. We decided to give them another try and do take out. my wife ordered a simple bfast burro with potato, egg, cheese and sausage only. when we opened it it more resembled an obese taco. the tortilla was more a tostada size, no cheese, raw potato, barely any sausage and just downright ugly. I ordered the chicken«fried» steak. it wasn’t fried, bland gravy again and so on. Never will I go back there and just don’t get the rave you all talk about.

I do my best to listen to my foodie friends suggestions. and today I was again pleasantly surprised. Breakfast in America is delightful. Owner was full if great energy, food options where clean, and some not so clean options too. By far the best, fine strung hash browns I’ve ever had. and while the migas looked tempting, I went for the manatas .(shredded pork, fresh salsa, been onions and yummy eggs) and the seating like the benihanas of breakfast kitchens. no bacon thrown at me but the meal is one I’ll be dying to get back here! Easy going, family-friendly, and a place to stop by everytime your coming through El Jebel. Next time I’ll get the chipped beef with brand. yum yum yummies!

First off this place use to be my favorite place to eat breakfast. Service was always good. Great food, great music and all around fun place to eat. The last few time I have been here the service has been poor and the food has not been very good. Not sure where the owner went but he needs to come back. Haven’t seen him in a few years. The service and food has gone down. I want pj wearing cook to come back!

Had a yummy breakfast here. It’s just a hole in the wall diner with self serve coffee and a large menu. We sat at the counter watching the cook make everything while the owner took orders and served the large platters of food. I had the Chile Relleno that was stuffed with cheese and covered with scrambled eggs and cooked like an omelet covered in more cheese and a great tasting ranchero sauce over it. The hash browns were shredded and cooked in butter on the cooktop and had great crispy edges. It came with a huge serving of stewed pinto beans. My husband had eggs, thick sliced bacon, hash browns and a homemade biscuit. Will definitely go back when in the area. The service was quick and friendly. There was a nice outside patio too.

I REALLY want to give this 4 – 5 stars for a great All-American Breakfast!!! I LOVE the serve-yourself coffee. I LOVED my delicious omelette with huge chunks of jalepeno and mushrooms. But the Monday a.m. I was there this week, the server was so rude you could turn to ice in the summer sun. And the food took an enormously long time. We arrived approximately 10:30 a.m. for breakfast and only one server was on staff. When I joined the group she never saw me, I had to chase her down to order and ask about coffee when I’d already been there for 20 minutes. Because my food was so delicious, I will go back and hopefully have the chance to give it a 4 or 5 star.

You gotta love Unilocal when it comes to finding great little holes I the wall when you’re out of town! The breakfast was really good but I kind of enjoyed the experience as much as the food. They cook everything right in front of you and somehow remember your order mixed in with everyone else’s. I knew I was in the right place when I saw them making my hash browns, they sprinkle them onto the cooktop instead of just grabbing a handful and plopping it on, I hate when I get a thick potatoe-y center, these were perfect! The French toast was also great and my husband wasn’t disappointed with his breakfast either. This is a must try if you’re in the area, definitely an interesting and tasty experience! The only downside was that it got a little smokey as they cooked but you have to kind of expect that when the kitchen is in the center if the restaurant…

Smiling faces. Giant plates of food cooked right in front of you. Nothing could be more pleasant on your way to the mountain. I stopped 2 days in a row with my ski crew and everyone was happy and full as we hit the slopes. Bar style seating only. Serve yourself coffee. Not fancy, but real!

The chef will prepare your meal choices as you specify. I like my scrambled eggs browned a little. The dish, with chorizo sausage, cheese, jalapeños, bit of onion, came just perfect and with beans and hash browns that even my wife liked, and she doesn’t like hash browns. Waitress was exceptional for service, friendliness, and attractiveness. And grandson wolfed the pancakes.

I used to Love this place. Inventive dishes and a great friendly atmosphere, but I dont know what has happened. The service has really gone downhill to the point that the staff is soo rude that I wont eat here anymore. Its like loosing an old friend, sad but true.
