Wow. Wish I went to this place earlier. Relatively small tasting room with a pretty varied array of solid beers. A few bottled versions on sale to go as well. Loved the bourbon barrel aged stout. around 12% abv and very viscous. Also tried the brett-IPA, A-Frame IPA and beaudacious double IPA which were also top notch. Bartender was very friendly and attentive even when it had gotten crowded. I was also impressed that they had appropriate glassware for the style of beer you order. Will stop by here whenever I’m in HMB.

They have a pretty large selection on tap, and all of their hoppy offerings are excellent. Strangely, I absolutely loved their Pyros Prost, a smokey rye ale with habanero peppers added. It has just a slight kick in the flavor, and it’s delicious!

What a great neighbourhood pub! Love the friendly bartenders, delicious beers and all the pups here! I’d come every night if I lived near here! Definitely great place to hang out with friends.

This is a MUST stop! If you are anywhere near Hop Dogma just go inside and have a drink. Great brews and the staff is friendly and very knowledgable of their product. It was great to enjoy the different beers on tap and the bartender was nice enough to let us know where to buy their beer locally.

I’m not a beer snob… but I like to drink good beer. And I know it when I taste/drink/indulge in it. This place would get 5 stars, but they really need a patio of some sort! Such great real estate, but a small set up. I went on a rainy Saturday, 2 bus tours showed up and it got packed real fast. The beautiful pacific ocean is just a hop, skip, and a jump away, it’s a shame we can’t enjoy looking at it more closely when the sun is more regularly visible. Loved the hop monk le funk beer or whatever the Belgian golden ale was. They were out of some delicious stout so I clearly have to plan a trip back. Great apres coastal hike spot.

Loved it — beers are amazing. The flight is a steal at $ 8 for 4(given the quality of the beers). Bartenders are really nice. Dog friendly — brought in our pup and she was welcomed right in. Awesome food truck right outside(I think every Saturday). Yesterday it was a Mexican food truck — and they bring the food in for you while you enjoy your drinks. We had the fully loaded fries with sour cream, jalapenos, cheese and onions. Mmmmm… Only downside was that there’s no outdoor seating for the gorgeous views outside. But, the building itself is really cute!

Great beer! I dropped in with my brother last weekend, and we were delighted by some of the tasty beer that we discovered. It took us a bit of time to order, as the beer tender was a bit preoccupied with a growler or a keg or something going on in back. Eventually, we split a flight, and sampled Xiola’s lager, the A-Frame IPA, Beaudacious DIPA, and Kara’s Kolsch. The double IPA was very sneaky, as it is extremely drinkable and does not seem overly heavy! The A-Frame is your pretty standard west coast IPA, very hoppy and delicious. We also loved the lager. Weighing in at 5.2% that is a very serious lager! From our table we enjoyed watching the waves roll in to the beach across the street. Speaking of across the street, we also went to that other brewery around the corner and we were agreed that we should have stayed at Hop Dogma. At Hop Dogma the atmosphere is very friendly; it almost feels like having a beer in your own living room. As I mentioned, the view here is superb, but most importantly, they are creating some delicious beers. I will keep my eye out for Hop Dogma beer!

Stopped in at the brewery, located near the beach, to check it out upon a recommendation from a friend. Not so crowded for a Saturday afternoon, but that was likely due to the rain(and completely fine by us). It is located on the first floor of a old Victorian building which was a curious setting, but in a good way. Dog-friendly, which is nice for dog-loving-friends out there. There were even a few dogs that were there when we were. They don’t have food, except some jerky snack for purchase hanging on the wall. They had 12 beers on tap, so my boyfriend and I decided on some samplers. It’s the best way to really try all of their beers without getting too wasted. The bartender suggested that instead of only trying 8(4 each, which is 2 samplers), why don’t we buy 3 full samplers and try all 12 beers and share. Well, you don’t have to twist my arm… LOL. We excitedly accepted the challenge. Our favorites were the light and dark sour beers and a really nice vanilla dark beer(which was sadly tapped out soon after we got the sample, so we couldn’t try a full pint). Very laid back vibe and the bartender was very nice and attentive. He even chimed in our conversation with couples who sat at the bar beside us, which was a nice, personable touch. We will definitely be back to this place in the near future. Great beers, cool crowd. and nice, clean facility.

I’ve been going to Hop Dogma for a while now and I can honestly say the beer is always great. They keep a very diverse menu of different beers which keeps me coming back. Whether it’s the kettle sours or the A Frame IPA, you need to stop by when you drive the coast. Plan ahead and get a sandwich from Gherkins in Montara to pair with their beers. A must on the Coast!!!

Fun place. Good beer. Great spot along the California coast with, sadly, no outside area to enjoy the beautiful weather and view. Also wish they had some kind of munchies to go with the beer drinking. The beef jerky doesn’t quite do it.(Also, as a hint to the business owners, people who eat salty, crunchy snacks drink more. Just sayin’) We tried a couple of different flavors on this trip but ended up sticking with the Lucy-fur option, as I’m not much of a stout drinker. The crowd was eclectic and peaked right around 3:30/4 on a Saturday afternoon. Fun times. Good beer.

I am giving it 5 stars because my Frenchie was allowed INSIDE with me! The beers are delicious as well. I tried most of them because I am not a fan of porters or stouts. I had all the others and I enjoyed them all. The spicy jalapeño one was interesting. I liked it, but I doubt I would drink a 16 oz of it. The brewery is small, clean, and has a great view! It’s walking distance from the beach. It does not serve, but there was a food truck outside and you were welcome to bring it inside. We went on a Saturday afternoon and found a table right away. Blue snoozed on the floor next to the window because the sun was shining through. Great place!

Cool, hip place in Half Moon Bay. They have a flight sampler at a reasonable price that allows a taste of 4 different types of beer. Small place, though, so it was difficult for our group of 8 – 9 to sit together. Didn’t stay here for a long one but I’d like to visit again next time I’m in the area again.

This place is awesome! Very small brewery in a house outside of Half Moon Bay. The inside is gorgeous and very relaxing. Great beer, and apparently they also have a food truck sometimes as well as live entertainment.

This hot local spot is a great place to have decent craft beers. Probably my personal favorite is the proxy prost. Quite spicy. The layout is small but cozy hosting a spectrum of beers from kolsch to porter. I can really appreciate this local spot, the local crowd is nice and welcoming. Dog’s are welcome and after that you can enjoy the site of the beach. Very nice. keepit up hop dogma. Food trucks on thurs, sat-sun

LOVE Hop Dogma! We have been coming here since it opened, my husband called it his«happy place»! We moved from the coast mid April, we now live in the quaint town of Petaluma, home of LOTS of breweries but none can compare to «the Hop». The people, the owners, the staff… all are the BEST! We tell everyone about Hop Dogma, if you like beer this is THE destination in the Bay Area. We miss you all so much! The good news is its not that far and we have a couple growlers! See you soon guys!!!

This is a very small pub that you won’t run into unless you are looking for it! The space is in a very beautiful building and can probably fit no more than 30 people before it gets too tight(OK maybe 50). I tried three of their signature beers and they were all very good. First I tried their IPA(Lupulin). It was fruity and dry. Then I went for Fancy Poodle, also very good. The last but not the least was their award winning stout, Fides in Fermento(Faith in Fermentation), and that was VERYGOOD! The staff was very friendly and helpful in explaining different beers. The crowd was friendly. For food, there is a food truck parked outside that makes good tacos and more. You pay them there and they bring your food into the bar for you! Stop by the place if you are in their neighborhood, you won’t be disappointed.

Although I am a big guy, I am not a big beer guy. But I liked this place. Judging from the many craft brewery hats and t-shirts on the other guests, so do real beer people. I cannot confirm this but I heard that they sell so much beer in-house that they don’t fill growlers anymore. But I would double check that. There were at least 10 options on the board behind the bar, conveniently listed with the IBU level, alcohol content, and a description of the flavor. I had a beer with habanero and jalapeño, and it definitely had a hot kick to it. It was very good, light but potent — I could have used 8 ounces rather than the 13 ounce glass they served(my taste not their problem). The night we went there was an Irish-themed band playing which added to the fun. The ARK Indian food truck wasn’t there that night, which was too bad, so we left after just one beer to get some dinner. But it is definitely a place I will visit again.

Found this gem in our backyard! We’ve lived 20 minutes from El Granada/HMB for the last few years and just came across this spot. After having lunch at the HMB Brewery, we wanted to try to some local more beer. Stopped in to Hop Dogma. Small location — can seat about 20 people with the bar and a few tables. They had live music inside and a food truck with Salvadorian food right outside. My husband and father tried the Lupulin IPA — delicious! I had Dennis the Geriatric, another IPA, this one had a kick with 7.9% ABV Would definitely return! Worth the drive :)

My babygirl brought me here as part of my epic beer tour. It was a nice detour after the bust that is Half Moon Bay Brewing Company. It got us back on track with some good beer. It’s a medium sized tap room, that appears to have many regulars. We were there around opening time and it was already beginning to fill up. They have a rather cool chalkboard up front where you can«pay it forward». Leave any amount of cash with the bartender, along with a name. When your favorite person of choice arrives, they drink for free, up tot he amount you left in their name. If anyone reading this wants to add«John B» to the board, I won’t be mad. We went with the full sampler of all their beers. It was a tall order as I believe they had 12 – 13 beers on tap. Heck if we’re driving all the way down here, may as well try it all! Luck Dragon Pale Ale ended up being my favorite, yet there were many hits to be had here. For the most part, everything here was pretty tasty save for a few clunkers. I thought I would love the wet hop Lupulin IPA. I surprisingly did not. That’s expected from any brewery with this many beers on tap. For such a small brewery, I’m surprised by the amount of beers they had on tap. The A-Frame IPA made up for it in all it’s hoppy goodness. They seem to be experimenting with new beers all the time. I’ll leave it on my beer bookmarks in case I ever find myself cruising through El Granada again for some reason. Who know, I just may find my name on the board.
