The food was OK, or maybe a bit better. The beans were pretty good, and the chili good. The amount of meat on the two meat platter was not much for $ 10. The salad bar was pretty scant. It was very fresh, just smaller than I am used to. What had me most irritated was the pricing. We ordered one dinner(two meat platter $ 10.99) and two all you can eat salad bars. We were charged $ 6.99 for both salads, even though one of them should have been $ 3.49. I didn’t mind the extra $ 3 but when I questioned the waitress she got pretty indignant. It was at that point I was upset about being overcharged. $ 35 for one dinner platter, 2 salads, 2 Waters and a tip was just too much.

Disapointed is the nicest thing I can say in regards to this establishment. I found it via Unilocal when looking for a salad bar. I love bbq, and I knew smoked meat and a salad would fit my cravings. Others rated this as having«great variety» on the salad bar — I will tell you, it was pitiful. Spring mix was rotten. Most toppings were dried out and old-looking. Faux bacon bits will touch no plate of mine, be assured! The«smoked» turkey, simply, wasn’t. 2 — dimensional flavor and no smoke ring at all. The service was ok for the middle of the afternoon. Please keep driving and do not eat here, if you want real bbq or a decent salad bar.

Traveling through town and stopped here. I would highly recommend it. The ribs and baked beans were spot on. My daughter tried the pulled pork and it was great.

For starters, there are only like 2BBQ joints to choose from in this town and they are right next to each other. This one happens to be the better of the two IMO. The only thing decent here are the sticky ribs, which is basically ribs served with sauce on them. They are not the best I’ve had but decent. Brisket is so-so and kinda dry and and a little bland. Definitely will need sauce on the brisket. All the sides seem cheap and out of a bag or can which is a big thumbs down in my book. Hell the dinner roll was a hamburger bun! Green beans tasted like some Del Monte canned beans, and pasta salad had enough oil in it to wick a lamp. Let me return to Tulsa, OK where some real BBQ is, because this place is mediocre at best. Hate when joints use pre made side items instead of being unique. Bush league! Not sure how others gave it good reviews, must be locals crowing about it. It is however, better than its competition across the street, Hog Wild. Don’t even get me started on that mess.

Just had the sticky ribs this afternoon… Well, they were outstanding. I wasn’t expecting such perfect ribs. I highly recommend these, they are not too smoky and does not have a lingering smoky flavor. They are extremely tender and the sauce is wonderful.

3.5 star BBQ. 5 star if you grading on the«El Dorado» curve. The«El Dorado» curve means you have strayed far enough from Wichita, that from here on out until you get to KC your odds of finding good food, hot women, fast motorcycles, fine wine, or great scotch — is about ZERO. So if you do, God Bless It, hang on and enjoy. This is one of those places. I’ve gotten food here a dozen times; usually to go. They always have some attractive and friendly young girls that provide prompt service when you stop in to grab grub on the run! Warning to you pickup artist types — before you get excited and decide to drop in for a date — you probably need to be a high school age to legally flirt with anything female here. But they really nice. If you’re into guys, well I can’t help you, cause I don’t really look at the guys. 5 — Pulled Pork. I’m a Green Egg, slow smoked pulled pork master snob. And I can say with conviction — they do a damn good job here. 4 — Baked beans. Yep, they’re good. 4 — Chopped Brisket 3 — Sliced Brisket(every time it’s been a bit dried out, not tender) 2 — Okra, probably my least favorite fried okra I forget which other sides I usually get, but it’s all decently 3+. The Okra is the only thing I ever wind up feeding the dogs.(I mean real dogs, not some of the girls I know in Kansas) 3.5 — Sauces. The sauces are pretty good here. They are no Blues Hog or Burnt Sacrifice(5 stars), or even Oklahoma Joe’s «Night of the Living»(solid 4 star). But they’re not bad. I like my pork BBQ sauce to be spicy, with hint of apple cider vinegar and some sage honey. Their sauce leans a little more towards Texas than KC, but it’s got a nice midwestern base and I can live with it. Bottom Line: Go here, it’s one of the better places in El Dorado and about the only good chain-BBQ around.
