Letter written to Keith Betchley personally on April 18, 2011:
Dear Keith–
I have addressed this to you personally because I am still sitting here STUNNED by the rude way your wife spoke to me when I called your office for clarification about the bill sent to me for the letter you wrote for me to Social Security– called a «beezley letter,» I was told.
Your wife called me a deadbeat, said I had «conveniently» forgotten to pay the bill (I never got a bill from your office for the charges and soon after I got the letter, I was diagnosed with bone cancer and had to have a hip replacement), could not tell me to whom the letter was written or when (said it was sometime in 2009 – 2010, which is a long window of time), told me to look up a beezley letter on line if I wanted to know more about it, insulted me repeatedly, saying she was sick of dealing with people like me (I assume who are deadbeats, etc.) and that I should just move on with my life but pay my bill! I am still stunned that someone who works in a professional office would behave so badly especially when she was of no help to me in trying to clear up this matter. Apparently, there is no record of the actual letter, when it was written or to whom– just that I owe you $ 350 for «beezley letters.» By the way, there is nothing at Google about «Beezley letters.»
She said you charged your hourly rate of $ 350. As I recall our conversation on the phone regarding the letter, you could quote me chapter and verse from the legal code that my letter needed to address and that you would charge me $ 175 to write the letter. It is 2 paragraphs long and it is hard to believe it even took you 15 minutes to write it but I accept that it might have taken up to one half hour to do. Since it took you over 3 months to get the letter written for me (I originally requested it in early June, 2010 and I got it in early September, 2010, I had to call your office no less than 6 times to remind you I still needed the letter, and I had to send you the information you said you needed 3 times before I got the letter, I think the $ 175 enclosed here in this letter should be sufficient to cover the total cost for one letter, 3 reminders, 6 phone calls, and multiple insults from your wife (you don’t do yourself any favors having her represent you).
I would appreciate a receipt from your office indicating the bill is paid in full.

Although filing bankrupcy after my divorce was one of the most stressful things I’ve had to go through Keith was so sympathetic and positive that it really took a lot of the stress out of it. He is an awesome lawyer. Very knowledgable, generous and available to his clients. From what Ive heard from friends of mine who have used other bankrupcy attorneys the process is not usually so painless. Several people I have reffered to Keith also had a great experience.
